When I saw the remake footage of the cow it finally hit me how far RE has come... Amazing video! It's really interesting to hear some things I haven't heard before about this game I love so much. A lot of these are new to me. I've seen some of those things happen in the shooting ranges, but didn't know shooting the background was what caused them. Also wasn't aware of the adaptive difficulty of the game. I feel like I MAY have known that way back in the past, but forgot.. either way, it explains why even on Normal the game can be tough sometimes. XD
The money you get at the end of the mine cart ride is fixed and possibly an easter egg and its not related to how many enemies you killed and such, etc.

In regards to the Salazar laughter thing, I think I know why this happens. I know in the shooting gallery, if you miss a shot and it hits the backboard, Salazar will laugh at you. This doesn't happen every time, so it maybe a case of hitting specific areas of the backboard. Another thing to keep in mind is that sniper bullets penetrate multiple targets, including the gallery targets. Now it's safe to assume you wouldn't be using the bolt action rifle for shooting the villager targets because the rifle has a slow firing rate, so if you do use it, it would be after the backboard opens up to double the gallerys shooting distance, especially to shoot the little Salazar target that pops up after getting 5 consecutive hits. With all this in mind, I think you get the laughter because the rifles bullet is passing through the target and hitting the side edge of the backboard that's flush with the side wall after opening up the full gallery, triggering the laughter as if you had missed the target and instead hit the backboard. This is just my theory though.
Haha this one took about 3 months, so it will take some time. Maybe I'll do RE4, RE2, or RE0 next. I'd love to get RE4 part 2 done before the Remake, but don't wanna rush it

I've beat this game on 4 consoles, from Gamecube the year of release all the way to Xbox One, easily over 100 times since I was 8. I'm now 25. You taught me a couple things about the game I didn't know, but one thing I never expected was flipping objects with the right stick. I have always wanted to point all of weapons in the same direction, and I can finally do that. Thank you so much lol

I've done speedruns of this game for years and I was still unaware of some of these. We skip minecart in runs, but i didn't know about picking up gold from the bones in any of my casual playthroughs. I also just assumed that ashley would always die if you used a hand grenade to free her (this is the strat in ng+ since she's immortal). I guess i never noticed rhinoceros beetles in the game either, and i have seen that you can rotate items but i actually thought it was a graphical glitch! Some interesting things related to some of these that may have not been mentioned in the guide: Luis has a different set of lines for if you attack him with the knife instead of shooting, the Special 1 costume reduces the amount of damage Leon takes (only on the gamecube ntsc version, which makes sense that it wouldn't be in the guide). So looking forward to part 2.

I've done speedruns of this game for years and I was still unaware of some of these. We skip minecart in runs, but i didn't know about picking up gold from the bones in any of my casual playthroughs. I also just assumed that ashley would always die if you used a hand grenade to free her (this is the strat in ng+ since she's immortal). I guess i never noticed rhinoceros beetles in the game either, and i have seen that you can rotate items but i actually thought it was a graphical glitch!
Some interesting things related to some of these that may have not been mentioned in the guide: Luis has a different set of lines for if you attack him with the knife instead of shooting, the Special 1 costume reduces the amount of damage Leon takes (only on the gamecube ntsc version, which makes sense that it wouldn't be in the guide).
So looking forward to part 2.

I think that's what they're intending, because Leon constantly saying "I'm gonna cry" doesn't make much sense, but Japanese is just like that where words have multiple meanings
