I have read on Feng Shui over the course of my adult years and really never grasped it. But with your explanations I feel like I can do this. The plants will soon be moving three feet to the south in my dining area.

Something that can help you understand and notice feng shui in your daily life is to consume Marijunana/Cannabis or LSD. Psychedelics are often a gateway into the feng shui world.

This is very interesting to me, because I grew up with Money Jars. Money Jars were placed near the door, and if you entered your home with spare change in your pocket, it would go in the jar. In the practical sense, this kept money from being left scattered all over the house. In the spiritual sense, it is near the door to attract more money inside. Of course, we are encouraged to move the jar elsewhere if that is not a good spot or if money starts using the door to leave instead of come in. I like what you were saying here about furthest spot you can still see from the entrance. That means you dont forget it, its still fairly convenient to you, but it is not in the way or so easy to leave back out the door. I think I will keep that in mind next time I have to move my money jar. 😊

I use to do this, then my grandma yelled at me saying I couldn't leave money by the door because it would be tempted to go outside. She held my little bowl of coins wandered around my apartment and then found the corner where I often sat on the floor propagating plants for random chump change every now and then and put it on the table. "You put it here." It was the first time she visited my apartment and she didn't know I sold plants from time to time.

There is a mystical beast called 貔貅, pronounced pea(2) shew(1), who has a mouth and no butt hole. People often buy a pair of them at the entrance and put money, usually bills, in their mouth, to symbolize bringing money in but never let out. Perhaps if you get a pair of them at the entrance and you wouldn’t need to worry about where to place your money jar 😊
There are some rituals you need to do when you bring them home, so they’d recognize you as their master(?), iirc. I guess if you ask the store they’d know better than me, if you’re considering getting them.

Interesting. My deepest corner from the door holds art supplies and the SE corner is where I put my favorite books, mementos and other things that make me happy, and it makes perfect sense because I don't care about money, can't even think of any "lucky charm" I would use for that - those things already represent the kind of inner wealth that matters to me more than the material. Even despite being limited by space and practicality, I've managed to intuitively organize my room in a way that feels comfortable before I knew anything about feng shui ^^

I want to put a painting of a fish in my money corner. I don't know what it is about fish that represents wealth to me, but I decided to follow the mental association now and ask questions later.
Edit: Just googled it, apparently fish representing wealth is also a Chinese feng shui thing and the Pinyin word for "fish" also translates to "abundance". Also a popular Chinese New Year symbol is a child holding a goldfish and a lotus flower to symbolize the abundance of gold and harmony. So yeah, fish is a very good thing to put in your money corner!

What?! How did I do this without knowing feng sui! I have the waving cat ornament a gift from parents from a trip in China, I call it the hardest worker at home since it has a solar panel and makes a sound when it waves, when it’s sunny you can hear it waving and it’s been in the deepest corner of the house from the entry.. in front of a window where the sun rises! I think it naturally found it’s way there since we moved into the house.. now I know lol

My apartment is behind another apartment on the east side, and the southeast corner is between the fridge and the laundry/utility closet with no windows in that area. You covered that exact situation at the end of the video, making it clear why that is definitely not the money corner in this space! On the other hand, the southwest corner has a south-facing window where I've naturally put some plants and a lamp as well as my desk. It's the sunniest spot in the downstairs. I'll consider some other things to add to the space to represent wealth!

I love that you actually understands and explains how fengshui energy is alive and dynamic. I’ve seen waaaaaay too many people who stick to rigid “fengshui rules”, which aren’t really rules but some misunderstandings, and make their life miserable. They’d be like, no light should shine into the room from this direction because blah and totally ignoring the fact that they have no other natural light source, or they’d hoard some decoration they’d hate and aesthetically aren’t working with the decor just because blahblah, or afraid to get something they really love into the house because blahblahblah nothings every turned around for them. Their home look miserable and the people look sad. it doesn't matter if you follow the best fengshui rule in the world if its not working for you or at least your house!! You need to be happy to be lucky!!

Has to be visible from the entrance makes sense, it's to remind you when you come back home from work at night, all exhausted and starting to question what are you even working for, you see the money / accomplishments corner and it might give you some mental boost to go at it again the next day. So maybe in that sense put it on the way to your bedroom / bathroom, whatever you are likely to do first when coming back home. Like changing clothes or freshening up in the bathroom.

For my studio apartment, it appears that Method 1 and 2 agree!
It happens to fall into a corner made up of bookcases. I guess I should set up a coin jar at the corner or on a shelf of one of the bookcases (the two bookcases meet at a 45-degree angle, against the wall). The eastern bookcase sits between the wall on the right and the only apartment window on the left; I keep plants in front of the window. The southern bookcase sits between the wall on the left and the futon bed (and the cubbie storage 'sofa console' on the right.

Hmm interesting when I see the furthest corner from my front door that’s still visible (and it’s not blocked by the dining table), that’s probably where my money corner is. I happened to put my Monstera plant there, which is the biggest plant I have indoors, and yeah it does kinda remind me of growth and success. It’s so fascinating just how intuitive Feng Shui can be.

I’d be interested in seeing if there’s something similar for other things that might be more important to other people. Like putting several faith-representing objects in that corner or something

Does this work even if you live in
Any part of the world? I am asking in context as the direction of sunshine is different in different countries. In one your previous videos you talk about how south is considered inauspicious in India but in China as it is above on the globe considered to be good.

The sun rises in the northeast if you're in the southern hemisphere! I would flip the octagon along the N/S axis if you live there. If you are asking about different cultural traditions, i have no idea. 😅

What if you have two entrances, front and back door, and both get used? The back door is the main door for us, but the front door is the main door for guests. They're also the furthest corners from each other... the back door faces directly north and the front door faces directly south; and our south east corner isn't visible from any door 🤔 the dining room is about as "middle" as it gets, but no part of the dining room is visible from the main door we use.

Right now, in the part of the country I live in, the sun is rising in the Northeast more East than North. And really, it never rises in the southeast where I live. And maybe it does go a teeny tiny bit Southeast but not by much more East in the summer and more Northeast in the winter.
So the problem I have is there are a lot of windows which I do not like putting curtains up because of allergies. Also, a back door there is a space between the back door and the window that would be exactly where the sun mostly rises on average. In the winter it it rises in the northeast corner and a window.
So, how would I handle this situation? 🤔

    I have two questions:
My house have two entrances, the main one and the back door, that I use the most. Wich one do I consider for this?
And my house has more than one floor, I'm assuming I should use the ground floor, where I get in the house. Is that correct?

    • @VeyaMeow
      @VeyaMeow 2 роки тому

I'd say in the case of multiple entrances, you should look into using your personal directions? Unless, I guess, there are multiple people living there, in which case maybe just use the compass direction based method but still make sure it's nice and sunny and not dingy of a spot. And probably on the first floor, yes. But so it's not right next to an entrance.
Idk, that's just my guess :)
