    I have been riding since a kid on a CT70,Trail 90, etc…. 40 years later and some high dollar custom HD’s in the garage and I adore what the new Honda Monkey is all about. This could be the most honest modern trail bike that will separate your priorities why you even ride a motorcycle. It’s a bike that is for the “real riders” that ride for them to have fun and not poser riders. The hardcore riders will easily see how cool the Monkey trail bike is at a quick glance. It needs no explanation what it’s purpose is. The Monkey brings back the simple joy why we needed to ride as a kid. Beyond that, fall back to the Harley … “If I have to explain, you won’t understand.”

    Congrats!
    I just purchased the exact same motorcycle......58-years old and just retired and want to enjoy life and have fun no matter how silly some may think it is.
    My wife is very supportive just like your significant other is.
    I have exactly 1-mile on it and can't get out to ride yet due to midwest weather....can't wait for spring!
    Enjoy....you only live once.

      Mini-Trail 50 or Mini-Trail 70???? No such animals - there was a Z-50 (Monkey) then the CT70 (Trail-70) and a CT90 (Trail-90)..... I have several of each

    • @MrMichaeljab
      @MrMichaeljab 4 роки тому

      Well excuse me! Geeez! But I beg to differ... Honda even advertised them as “Mini Trail”. Honda even had a decal that said “Mini Trail 70” right on the bike in later years (1978). Don’t believe me? Just do a Google search for “Honda CT70 brochure” then click on some of the brochures. Or do a search for “Decals for 1978 Honda CT models”, “Honda mini-trail 50”, or “Honda mini-trail 70” and see what it comes up with. Now what you could have corrected me on was that I had my CT70 in 1970, not 1971.

    Bag full of fun indeed. Honda has always made great bikes. I always used to see the Honda ct 90's on the bumbers of motor homes. They had folding handlebars that worked well with bumber mounts. Dual range ytansmissions, indestructable. If your looking for a bike for Abby keep your eye on craigslist. Sometimes they go for not much money.

    Great little bikes. Perfect for what you have in mind. Not upgrading the exhaust is probably your best bet. I ride a H-D with straight pipes and love them going down the open road. I bought an ex Police Yamaha FJR1300, great bike but I hardly use it. I find myself riding my smaller cc bikes a lot more. Would have sold the big Yam but unfortunately came off it and did some damage to it so I probably stuck with it. Funny to trade in the 1300 for a new monkey, dealer might give me funny looks. Anyway, going bigger isn't always better. What about a Royal Enfield Himalayan? Very good value new, interesting bike, does everything (solo?, not two up) that a bigger cc bike can do but you can pick up when it topples over, Africa Twin is a BIG bike to pick up.

    3- Dress for the crash, not the ride.
    4-Anything other than a helmet is just wishful thinking.
    5-When in doubt, apply more throttle
    6-Look at where you want to go, not at what you don't want to hit.
    7- The clutch cable will break when you are far from home.
    Have fun.

    This is too funny, I've been watching YT vids on these small bikes too. Now I don't feel weird for liking them so much. LOL
    Did you see the one where the two guys drove a couple monkeys 1000 miles across the baja?
