@ZodiacBandit well yeah, they have plenty of plot armor. I can suspend my disbelief only so many times, and I'm not used to excessively cut-throat campaigns either, I just don't feel the stakes. CR1 had some good moments, less in CR2, now it's just all feelings and drama, the fights are very secondary 🤷
@@8Smoker8 There's no such thing as plot armor in a chance based game. You weren't exactly complaining about plot armor when Otahan was hunting them and practically wiped them.
@@Aurora_Lightbringer plot armor isn't just "She got crit by Predathos but survived because of the Power of love". It's fudging dice, creating flashy but safe encouters, placing friendly NPCs in key positions. Even Otohan, flashy as the first fight was, didn't kill anyone.
They could in a last ditch have the majority, if not all but Caleb Or Chetney, jump into the potable hole then teleport to the portal and have Fearne Wild shape with them in the hole to get out. @MatthewEmbleton-j4x Yeah, this was more or less the worst case way they could get out in my head if I were a player. And by extension the most unlikly.
I think mighty nein will be fine. The Caleb and Yasha mind blank are huge and Beau is dangerous as long as she can reach anyone. The two clerics can keep them up (plus we have seen with VM how two auto divine interventions are crazy). My concern is largely for mighty nein. I’d say TPK but I think Launda, Ferne, and Imogen may have story reasons they survive but I think this is the most likely TPK
No one will stay dead. Matt does not DM that way unless a player forces his hand. We had yet another meaningful moment passed by with our final episode of VM. Imagine **SPOILERS** if Vex could not be brought back when she died. Something like the divine magic that the gods used on Predathos to bind it into Ruidus absorbs the souls of those who parish on the moon to fuel the spell. That would also explain why the Reilorans exists on Ruidus as well. A Vax finally freed takes a second to absorb the scene before him. And in those brief seconds, where he sees the destruction his family brought to those who imprisoned him, he bares witness to his twin permanently dying. That would be real drama. And a shot across the bow for MN and BH that if you are going to mess around you are going to find out in the most unpleasant way. Real, meaningful stakes. Which is why Matt would never do it.
Mercer is afraid of challenging his players. And when he did, they were afraid to face anything for 50 episodes. Nobody will die, there's no discussion

I’m aware that I’m completely probably wrong and everyone may die but I need Laudna to be ok again and Imogen to marry her love
Yes.
@@Banquet42 agreed
Let's remember the hells and the nien used a lot of spells just calling people that even they said before switching back to vox machina they shouldn't have done that.
@@shadowhell8378 that’s also true although I’m pretty sure they didn’t use any over 3rd lvl but I could be wrong
i think the mighty nein could be fucked if the weave mind has access to polymorph and banishment. like imagine transforming yasha into a sheep and sending her back to exandria. the same with caleb (who has a tendency to become bigger monsters for better attacks and ac)
Im almost sure Ashton will be the one releasing predathos, in the cooldown for the last episode Tal said "it will be a shame if something happens to the gods" and i think the rest of the cast think he's joking but we know how arrogant and selfish ashton is, if they think they right and everybody else is stupid they will do it.
it would be the third "its what my character would do" moment of this campaign.
edit: even if matt goes full no mercy mercer, he always designs his boss fights thinking in ways they could win because he cares for his friends and want them to succed even if someone has to sacrifice themselves (as it was with otohan)
banishment wouldnt send her to exandria.. she is on her home plane, the moon isnt a different plane.
@@hadesblackplays banishment is realm based would ruidus be a different realm I’m leaning toward no as fcg used it on themself and fearne in the past
@@ZodiacBandit
Still, banishment could work for Fearne as she's from the Feywild, but not really the rest.
It doesn't sound like something Matt would pull though imo
@@hadesblackplays no they have Gaz Tomo (from the future) hard agree Matt has always made the fight fair it’s why he let Otohans HP slide and let FCG kill her
I’m expecting a Lucien style fight for the M9
If they release Predathos, I imagine the the Divine Gate will dissolve as it happens.
I like just because you mentioned Dragon Ball Z : ) !!!

I'm worried about how many will survive due to plot armor 😅
But hey, maybe they will be wrapping up the whole saga and we'll see actual permadeath 🤷
@@8Smoker8 plot armor in dnd? The group with the most “plot armor” or in this case the group that gets the easiest path just had their fights the real fights are still to come
@ZodiacBandit well yeah, they have plenty of plot armor. I can suspend my disbelief only so many times, and I'm not used to excessively cut-throat campaigns either, I just don't feel the stakes.
CR1 had some good moments, less in CR2, now it's just all feelings and drama, the fights are very secondary 🤷
@@8Smoker8
There's no such thing as plot armor in a chance based game.
Sure, Matt could play it lenient, but he's arguably being playing a more brutal campaign style for C3 than he did for the other 2 campaigns, and I doubt he'd start now.
Even Otohan, flashy as the first fight was, didn't kill anyone.
we have music now?
@@bedonbutter5749 last few videos have had it I’m trying to figure out the right volume for it still
They could in a last ditch have the majority, if not all but Caleb Or Chetney, jump into the potable hole then teleport to the portal and have Fearne Wild shape with them in the hole to get out. Or some other combination of people and abilities. That would be best case if they need to leave and can.
@@Omnia-0001 there are always exit strategies for Matt to pull to at least make it fair doesn’t mean they will make it but they will have ample opportunities to escape
But also dont think so, they died they are dead, off scren shure.
I kinda hope BH lose the fight.
