Great vid. Thanks for taking the time to do this in those conditions! I’ve been a Nox 800 user since they came out and the 800 just talks to me now. I’m being drawn to take the plunge with the Manticore but something is just holding me back because I know my 800 inside out! Would like to see what you think of my channel using the Nox. Now subscribed! 👍🏻 Gaz.
Thanks gaz, I’ll sub you back and check out the channel. Just go for the manticore, it’s always hard at first when you change machines but it’s an awesome machine, good luck and thanks for watching 😊
With the manticore I dig a lot of square nails. They sound good but somehow I always know that it’s not a good target. But I talk myself into digging them. I did a test garden with square nails in every hole with different coins. They mess up the vdi numbers and where it comes up on target line. But once you get used to the sound it makes it easier
I get fooled sometimes but I didn’t dig a lot of iron at all, if I were in a thick iron patch I would drop sensitivity to 19 and recovery 7/8 Just my preference and I’m still learning the machine, I remember people moaning about how bad the equinox was in iron but for me sensitivity was key and found some great stuff after the deus users on one dig, thanks for the info😊
@@DIRTBROSDETECTING with my test garden I quit turning on the target because most of the time you won’t hear the target 180. That tends to make me dig more bad targets. I’ll have to try turning down the sensitivity. With the nox I ran as high as I could and with manticore do the same thing. 24-29 usually main reason why I put silver dime at 13 1/2 inches and won’t hit it till sensitivity is 27. It will have fant sound but nothing on line till I turn up sensitivity
@@brokenarrowoutdoors2467 give it a go, it’s my understanding if you have lots of iron you will struggle to see past it with a high sensitivity, I had great results with the nox this way😊
Hi neil, I thought it looked a bit odd when I first saw it but the dimples in the end gave it away, I’m sure it’s a 19th century thimble as they got longer through the ages👍 thanks for watching😊
expat in oz.coming from the ctx to the manticore is a shock i hunt beaches and trashy parks its a nightmare sqeaks buzzers pings how are you suppose to hear a 50% threepence down deep thro all that noise,i settled for high trash discrim all but 3mm north and south of the line,a lot better but signals can be shortened stll learning, beach is hard work with this live wire.
I here you, I always found the sensitivity vital on the nox 800 when things got lively and same with the manticore, I leave it wide open and learn to read the iron flasing. I’ve been playing with the tones on the manticore which can hide some of the falsing/ground chirps, definitely an interesting machine to learn and I will get my head round it any day now, thanks for watching👍
Interesting but just as a bit of constructive criticism, I think you need to find a way to improve your sound because it is almost impossible to hear what you are saying whilst walking and detecting. The noise of the machine overpowers the sound of your voice making it very difficult to hear what you are saying
Thanks nicksey, always open to constructive criticism👍 it was a nasty day with the wind and rain so perhaps I need to look into a wind sock and mic etc, thanks for watching😊
Err.. no thanks tim😂 those birds are evil! Saying that they are guarding the area I had a Henry VII sovereign penny up so might have to ‘pluck up’ the courage, thanks for watching
Did you get the conversion values of the Recovery Speed/Reactivity from the Manticore to the Deus II from the NASA Tom (Tom Dankowski)? If not I have it. Tks! GL👨🦯HH
Thanks pigeon blood ruby, I have read nasa Toms info but didn’t use exact speed recovery settings.. feel free to post what you have and thanks for watching😊

I wouldn’t be able to get away with all the falsies and high tone iron being a deus user I love the deus
Hi alex, definitely a smoother ride with the deus, thanks for watching😊
Enjoyed the comparison. 10.40 was it a tip from a walking stick as looked maybe a bit long for a thimble?

@@DIRTBROSDETECTING Ah well done, I didn't spot those dimples! 👍🏻
