There are kids on the hood that really grew up on the streets, and they can only dream of everything that Ja has. Meanwhile, Ja wanted to be "hood" and he took his blessings for granted

Ja needs to cut ALL of the dead weight out of his life. There's a fine line between "staying true to the homies" and moving on to better things. Ja did NOT grow up on the streets, and neither did his friends. They're living a lie through his success about being thugs and badboys. None of them are about that life. His father is failing him MASSIVELY. He shoulda' been the 1st person to step up and say "son, enough of this foolishness." But no, he's busy beefin' with Shannon Sharpe.

I agree with everything you said except the part on his father. Who are we to say that his father didn't try to speak to him? That would be insane, considering he is the reason Ja made it to the NBA, he invested so much into him and even gave up his own basketball career to raise Ja. Its actually hard to imagine watching his son give all that away for goons. Ja, however, is still a grown man, his family really could be trying but at the end of the day, he is a grown man who is the breadwinner for the entire family. It might not be that simple really!

Mom and sis have been into fights with random people then calls Ja to bring down his crew. Dad is too busy living it up, i think none of them bothered to read the part of the contract where it says all the money Can disappear if they fail to behave. i do hope they take this opportunity to learn and change their ways

Congratulations, Mike. This is one of the better videos about the Ja Morant crisis story. I'd have to give your video another look-see while taking notes to properly break it down, but the content was outstanding. To me, it's a powerful story because I appreciate Ja's talents and abilities so much. I was amazed by how such a skinny guy had come to do so much.
In particular, I was impressed by the insight you gave us by connecting Ja's general environment as an emphasis. Understanding that the root of the Ja Morant story is anchored in his youth cannot be emphasized enough, although obvious.
From what I observe of Ja's interactions in these casual social settings on video, they must represent the influences around him. We see that those surroundings are those for Ja, who count the most in his life. To me, these people are depicted to be more than just attachments but rather the people he respects, trusts, and loves the most.
What I see is that Ja is taking too much on his shoulders. He's trying to be everything to everybody he ever knew, maybe pulling at him a little too much.
It could be too much for a guy his age with a strong sense of loyalty; the transition for needing to be on point, so to speak, at all times will take work. Because, aside from his enormous basketball skill set, Ja seems to be just your average guy. So, Ja needs to learn about where his gifts might best lead him rather than letting them go to waste. Ja needs to know his ultimate objective in life because, as for basketball, he's mastered this already.
I compare Ja Morant to Lebron James in this sense. Lebron was the King because he said so. Say, would you like you to, but the freight train knew precisely where he was headed, come rain or shine, on his very first day, and ever since then, it's been all downhill. Dunk, dunk, dunk, and dunk some more. Lebron started straight out of school, right?
On the other hand, Ja (who I nickname 'Ja Mo," like give me more of Ja ) has no idea what bus he's on, never mind where it's going.
Can you imagine someone handing over a billion dollars to you, but you do not want it? Because you can't fully imagine what this truly means, you should walk away. Unlike Ja, Lebron comes in as someone already made. Whereas Ja, on the other, is someone who seems to happen to come into view. This is why we feel as perplexed and ill-at-ease about Ja's reality as he probably does.
Think about it for a moment. When will we see anything like this pipsqueak, Ja Morant, again? But now Ja is just a guy who happens to only know who he is to others but nothing about who he is to himself.
I hope that Ja is just taking some time to figure things out. What I mean by this is that he needs to understand what he cannot do. So this is Ja Mo's best option and ours for him. A lot is riding on this moment, and we can only hope the little man figures out soon which way he is headed and why. Contrary to popular belief, no one is speedier than a bullet.

Merely distancing himself from the yes men in his crew won't do any good if the ultimate yes men, those responsible for years of what appears to be encouraging this behavior, are still in his life operating as usual. If his mother and father do it put in the work to change and he keeps the same close ties he has now, it's over for the kid. If he really wants the life he can have, it will likely involve distancing himself from everyone in his life that won't change. That's how serious this situation is. The glorification of gangsta life needs to be stopped. You end up in a body bag or in prison. The NBA, NFL, MLB needs to stop inviting thugs to game and give them publicity. The NBA is as guilt as Ja for promoting that life too. Adam Silver needs to act on that right away and the black community needs to back up the stop of this culture if they want to progress.

could not be a better time for a superstar to act like an idiot. Warriors are tanking, Lebron hurt, KD hurt, Luka hurt, Kyrie Hurt I could keep going. Adam Silver said pay off whoever you have to, make up a bull shit apology, give him lines to read during his Jalen interview and get him back on the court!!! NBA ratings are tanking with everyone hurt and the teams that were supposed to be good are barely getting by! well played Ja well played.

And Caron Butler chooses to talk someone who was actually a gangster/violent person... into not doing something even more stupid, than what he had already done. We salute you Caron! you are todays bad ass. Thank you for Looking out for your brothers from another mother. Good for you, you have my respect & I'm sure the respect & appreciation of both players right after it happened.

I think if Ja is willing to learn he’ll be able to course correct, but he needs to be humble. The only reason he’s getting these endorsements is because of his play on the basketball court and his previously clean image. You screw up your image and your brand, you lose everything. They give you chances when you a net positive but once your play starts slipping, no one is going to put up with the drama. Derrick Rose is able to keep his endorsements and maintain a career after all the injuries because he stays out of trouble. Lebron stays out of trouble. As an athlete, public image is what gets the fans to vote you in the all star games. Don’t screw it up kid.
