FYI - Electronic motor and lighting kit from Dynamic Scale Modeling. :-) I've added a dozen other videos showing the progress of the build and also a short pictorial video. • Tamiya Lancaster Bombe...
I've also just finished a 1/18 flying Spitfire diorama. This was put on a bespoke dynamic base.

By far the coolest thing I've ever seen what a fantastic masterpiece. Absolutely brill with the Lancaster and the props spinning the sound brilliant job mate 👍🇬🇧
Un ottimo lavoro. Complimenti
Lovely attention to detail. You got the engine start sequence correct too. My father worked on Lancasters and told me that the inboard Port engine is always started first because it’s the only engine fitted with a dynamo- hence as soon as this engine is running, the batteries are being charged ( and and ground based batteries on a portable trolley can be disconnected and wheeled away if the staff are in a hurry to get the next plane started.
I live down the road from the Canadian Lancaster and every once in a while I have to remind myself to not take it for granted.
Other then the props spinning the backwards to pitch, beautiful! Very well done!
I remember seeing these when I was a kid flying over my house when the biggen hill air show use to be on. Such a distinctive sound.
Me too.
My next project will either be 6 spitfires starting up randomly on an old airfield, or a tilt rotor osprey starting up.
I vote for the Spitfires 😁👍
Spitfires please Sir
Change the rotation of props please!!!
How did you do this? Interested in trying this myself.
That's freakin' awesome. I half expected it to roll off the stand and fly around the room ! 😎👍
I was expecting the same thing! Also, the ground crew personnel, expecting him to turn around and tell us to get out of the way, plane is taking off! 😁😁😁
Amazing, what an Engine Sounds...........
Really nice! Great detail, awesome sound. The Lancaster is legendary, rained hell from above during ww2. For the greater good of the world.
Brilliant, love the start up noise on each engine.
Just happened to see this today...terrific job...animation and sounds are just fantastic. My only bug is that I think the interior lighting is too bright, wondering if it could not be dimmed. Navigation lights and landing lights are super. A masterful job
This is great my Dad flew these in the war and was based at the same base that the famous Dam busters raid was At the time of the raid was top secret all he heard was about low flying
Love this, great work and the engine sound is just wow!
Amazingly beautiful. Thanks for taking the time to put it together.
Wow! This is so freaking cool! Out of my league for sure. Congratulations on this wonderful model.
I was going to dislike this vid but when the engines started up slowly one by one I was in love! Well Done!
That’s crazy cool. I had seventy two model aircraft. That I built myself as a child. But none of them done that 👍🏻
Incredible display! Love the proper starting sequence!
Good to see you took the time to get the spinners running perfectly ,without the usual wobble .
But the fact they do have wobble, ever so slightly, and they're running backwards. Lol! 'Running imperfectly' you mean?
Excellent modelling project with stunning effects!!
This has to be one of the geekiest things I've ever seen! It's absolutely stunning and a truly amazing achievement by anyone's reckoning, well done. It's a shame that so many people (armchair non-achievers) couldn't find one of the many positive things that could have been said about this work.
Armchair model builders ... : ) ... are there any other kind?
@@MorsDengse Of course there are, Armchair Critics like myself, also we have to raise a cheer to the Armchair chair builders whom without all this wouldn't have been possible. Well done to all the armchair people, even the armchair purveyor of porn without them the internet would cease to exits.
But we have to see an end to the Armchair space lunacy of the empire, with thier childish robots and light sabres, starwars the lunacy of the left with thier cry of more wars and lets take it to the stars. I say no ban starwars now.
I built this as a one off build. First time at putting electronics into a standard model. Learnt a lot in the process. It’s much more enjoyable than building a standard static model kit. From now on all my models will be computerised. Just bought a 1/32 F35 and F18. Looking forward to lighting up some big jets. :-)
I build model armchairs.
Great! Love it. Excellent detailing right down to the roar of the Merlin engines!
What a beautiful re-creation and very cleverly done. Light and sound is great but the engine start sequence if fantastic. We'll done!
Unbelievable, excellent job, loved the action and great sound
Excellent work, love the 'guarded' aviation starting switch too...
That truly brings life to an amazing WW2 Icon. Very well done!!
The sound effects, icing on the cake 👍
To smooth to move, get on, brilliant and well done!!
Too* smooth ...
Brilliant! - and adds another dimension to it all. Well done!
That looks like a museum exhibit. Absolutely wonderful
Now THAT'S a diorama. Incredible work.
This is AWESOME! This brought such a huge smile to my face! Well Done!!!!!!! 🤯
That’s a cool diorama. Love the Lancaster. I’ve seen the one in Hamilton , Ont a few times.
Simply breathtaking.
Amazing piece of handiwork ! Love it
Back In the day when I was a school boy my parents would take us on holiday to Morcambe - Every year - Same week in August - Mrs Austins boarding house 111 Alexandre road - Down there by the Battery
Being a poorly child - I spent a lot of time of my young life building Airfix kits !
My Dad a great guy served in WW2 - He would tell me tales of his war time adventures - He alsol iked his horses too ! - This year he came on them & won quite a bit on them !...
Dad being ex Army was methodical And had his routines - Every morning My Dad took me for breakfast while my Mom stayed behind and got my young sister ready for the day -I remember It rained quite a bit all Week - So early in this morning - We got wrapped up & and went to the same local cafe for breakfast with my Dad as usual - On the way He always bought 2 newspapers & a bag of spice ? - Papers to Study the form & Spice for me - He'd read the results from the Day before and plan his bets for that Day - All while we were having breakfast !
I remeber Dad being so happy one morning - He said were going to the toy shop today lad -When he opens ! - So that morning we went to the Toyshop the guy owned two toy shops in Morcambe back then - He sold all the toys of the day back then ! - Dad bought me a series 3 airfix kit I think it was ! - A giant 1/72 Lancaster bomber - The smilling shop Lady wrapped it in brown paper and string - And as we both walked back to our digs - My Dad said to me -"Stevie" ! - "When you get older lad youll be able to tell your friends that you once bought a Lancaster Bomber - From Lancasters toy shop - In Lacancaster " - So here I go telling my little story again !
Loving your Model of That Great British Bomber from World War 2 -
I later found my uncle Martin Fleming Flew in a Lancaster Bomber during WW2 - As did his Son -My Cousin - Went on to fly Tornados in recent wars !
SB British Isles
Really great job with the electrics, very clever. I believe you have the engines starting in the right order as well. As has been mentioned, wrong direction of rotation but only us nerds are going to notice that. Normal static models soon become boring no matter how realistic they are but adding movement and light as you have brings them to life IMHO. 👍🏻
I'm sure he could feel the air gusts from the propellers at the front of the plane and not from the rear where it belongs, but it didn't seem to register. Perhaps he did not test it before final assembly?
Incrediblely imaginative.Contact in 3...2...1.... clear,!
It's impressive, and also apparent that you made the props turn as if they were left-hand tractors, just to give pedants something to latch onto. I approve.
This is so awesome!!! I would love to have a great diorama that had so many bells and whistles !! 👍👍🍻🍻
Beautiful job!!!! I love do love your diorama: the Lancaster, lights, sound engienes petrol truck....everything... Tamiya is great!!! All thebest from Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, España!!
What a brilliant work of art. Now that's something to have as a talking piece if you have friends round.
Very skilful - Well done!
Great implementation of sound and modelling. Like the controls too.
Wow Wow Wow!!! Wonderful job on this! Love it!
Simply A 1 ! can t be better ! Was expecting the take off any second. 👍👍🔝😀
This is a magnificent built. A work of art!
Excellent model & working features!
The rabbit holes on the airfield are showing us the rabbits there are well organised and enjoy order
This is beautiful. Damn! I love the Lancaster.
that is INSANE!!!
What an amazing job!!!
That is brilliant, I'd love something like that 👍
😎😉🙂☺😀😄🙄💪👌👏🖒👍🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺🇷🇺
Absolutely beautiful! Great idea and lovely paintjob 👍
Blessings brother, beautiful work, really very good ...
The Lancaster ever won any beauty contests.
Truly bloody OUTSTANDING what an amazing job! Well done
Wow that is a quality bit of modeling.
Love this, I need to get into this
One hell of a job. Fantastic
I need one of those for when it's hot.
Absolutely Brilliant, Wonderful work 👍
You are genius, period. Chris / Toronto RCAF fan. Big salute to you, cheers!
That is a beautiful model never seen something like before.
Stunningly made
Fantastic piece of work!
Fantastic. I especially like the delayed start up of the engines....very cool.
They started each engine separately, and probably left to right and not inners then outers as in this video. But the propellers are spinning the wrong way!
They're counter-clockwise from the front of the plane, not clockwise. A comedy of errors!
Great build and diorama! Nice idea on the user interface and switches
very nice! You do great work! thanks for showing us!
That is extraordinary! Outstanding job! 👍🙂
Absolutely fantastic. Great work. Cheers from Melbourne Australia.🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
You have encouraged me to make something similar with my Lancaster..Just waiting on the materials to arrive.
That’s very impressive. Great job.
Who cares which way the props turn, you have created a stunning model. Many congratulations, it's superb.
You can buy motors that turn either way
I do, if you're going to that much trouble to get the details correct then this lets it down.
Outstanding lad, fine work!
Beautiful work!
These models are awesome, way cool.
There's me thinking 'that's a bit OTT for a light switch' but then the engines come on !
I was thinkng the exact same 😅
Navigation Lights would be better
@@lioncurlew I agree, and too easy to do either with micro LEDs or fiber optics
In a word....superb! Well done.
Unbelievably amazing.
Outstanding work!
That spin speed is on point!
I had to balance each prop with different weights to give slightly different spin speeds. It also causes props to start slower, which is what I was after. :-)
Beautiful work! My dad was an instrument tech specializing on the Norden bombsight on the Lancasters in England in WWII. He would have loved to see this. Thanks.
I'm also an ex defence Instrument fitter specialising in guidance systems. I would like to do a video on stripping down an old inertial navigation system that I have sitting on my desk at the moment. Stay tuned.
Not to wizz on your parade, if the motors are DC, you may need to reverse the leads. The propellers are spinning backward. They would make the Lancaster fly in reverse. Just an old airplane mechanics observation.
Yes I notice the propellers are spinning the wrong way!!
Awesome and amazing work! Love it!
Mate thats a Sterling job you have done
Great work..!
The motors are turning the propellers the wrong way?
I've noticed It too.. 😃 4 motors like four fan. 😄 I'm kidding but great work! Beautiful!
Brilliant, just bloody brilliant. 👏👏👏👏
I am Late to the party, but not regretting getting here! As a fellow model builder, this is over the top!
Fantastic work!
WOW! Truly amazing! Came across this and I appreciate you sharing! Well done sir! I 🫡 you!
Seriously loving that!!!
Absolutely brilliant, pure skill , ton up matey 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
care and attention to detail. lovely.
Wow love that so much, great work.
That is absolutely awesome. So jealous. I have a same size model of Guy Gibson's Admiral Prune. But your model is stunning. What a sound. 👌
Beautiful work.
Magnificent, really well done.
Brilliant, well done!
Great work mate 👍
First video I have seen from your channel. Absolutely brilliant art. I have always admired the Lancaster. Well done, subbed. Nicely done.
