The nWo was, absolutely, the greatest idea in wrestling history up until the Mr. McMahon heel run. The problem was it was a car going 90 on the freeway with no exits and no brakes; with no direction, it just ran out of gas.
I've always said the McMahon heel run was a straight rip off of what Eric Bischoff did as the evil boss. Granted it wasn't 100% verbatim, but it was the exact same concept. WWF has always rewritten history as themselves cast as the good guys, like condemning WCW for buying up all of "their stars" when the 80's WWF was nothing more than an all star promotion of every territory's top talent...Hulk Hogan, Rick Martel, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Dynamite Kid, Curt Hennig, Kerry Von Erich, etc.
In my opinion this is the best shoot RF has done. It would have been even more interesting to see this turned into a documentary of sorts by adding in footage and slideshows of the things he was talking about. Bischoff just has that documentary quality, story telling voice.
The Monday Night Wars are a fond memory from when I was younger, and I want to think positively of the people involved, but really, I can't bring myself to like Eric Bischoff no matter what.
You know how Pepsi is always talking shit about Coke and Burger King is always talking shit about McDonalds... and never the other way around? WCW mentioned WWF way too much on TV. It reeked of desperation and never made me believe that WCW was number one, even when they were ahead in the ratings.
This is interview is pure gold, i kind of wish they would've used some it for the monday night wars specials on the network, or at least recent interviews....
As I stated below this guy in This particular forum makes a ton of sense and is actually very enjoyable to listen to!! He brings up ALOT of good , valid points
+Chris Purolover you have to admire the way his mind works. That's pretty keen to make a list of all the ways you can be different from Vince, instead of trying to beat him at his own game. Bischoff was definitely one of WCW's top assets.
+Kim Martin And? The 3 greatest eras were about sports entertainment, not pro wrasslin. Hulkamania Era, Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression. WWE/F has been about sports entertainment for a long time. If you want wrasslin then go watch the indies.
Think he has a very natural Pro Wrestling charisma about him. I like him more in recent years because he has admitted to many of his mistakes, and become a more humble guy.
I've heard Eric tell that Ted Turner/Nitro story a million times. Yes, a million (give or take). And it's the same every time, including the impression of Ted. I feel like I actually lived it.
when bischoff refers to steve bein pissed, i don't think he's talkin about sting. he's talkin about stonecold steve austin durin the time he worked in wcw before he wuz released
I always felt that was the main reason behind Nash and Razor returning to WCW because so many of the old guard screwed over many wrestlers in the late 80's early 90's and they were the only two guys out that group of wrestlers who really made it big with the Fed and then went back to Atlanta got their revenge.
Eric Bischoff looks old here, but he looks fantastic for his age, remember he's 59 years old. At the end of the day, everybody is gonna look like that and there's nothing can't stop it.
At the end of this video, Bischoff said they didn't have a clue what was going on. I can honestly say after seeing this, neither did Bischoff, or else WCW would stiil be going strong. lol
It's called getting old, why are you guys commenting on how he looks when we are all men here, let's be honest I'm not here to be in a sausage fest. getting old happens, its all in your genes if you will look good or bad when getting older.
"Every time we go out the door we're losing money. And you want to fix that by going out the door MORE. How the fuck does that work?" lol-i'm getting this DVD.
The nWo should have ended at the hands of the Four Horsemen. A 4 on 4 match with the companies soul on the line. Flair and Sting start out together. Then at the next PPV Bret joins them as the third member. Finally at the PPV with all the marbles on the line, Hogan turns on the nWo as the fourth member of the Horsemen and ends the reign of the nWo. The following night on Nitro, they disband and the rest is history.
i agree with everything 'cept hogan. hogan as a horseman? that's like poppa vince as ECW champ...utter blasphemy. the line up i see is: flair, mongo, benoit, and guerrero or malenko plus AA as manager. its sweet revenge. NWO towards the end was filled WWE stars gone over-the-hill. as NWO talks shit about how they're the greatest and then, one by one, you see flair come out, then AA, then maybe benoit, the...from the rafters, comes sting and then all that stuff you said happens and the NWO shits its pants. sweet revenge, indeed. oh what could've been.
27ShowStopper Instead we got vice versa at wargames in 97 the horsemen were laid to waste by the NWO with shocking betrayal of Kurt Henning and maybe the NWO should've ended after starrcade 97 or finished in 98 completely disbanded.
everyone putting bischoff down for looking old and not for what the man did for wrestling in general. between himself and paul heyman wwe/f would have been a very different place.
Sexton Hardcastle If you as a straight man can't say Bischoff was a good looking man in his day and that he looks like he aged 30 years since 2006 I think you might be blind ^_
You are a suspect if you look at a man and the only thing you notice = looks... "If you as a straight man can't say Bischoff was a good looking man" as a straight man you dont even think about a man's looks dude... i dont.. i look at men and all i see is another dude walking by.
Paul is a bigger sleeze than Eric ever was. Do you know how Paul Heyman left ECW in the dust and didn't even tell his wrestlers that ECW was sold to WWE?
Gojira Shinigami - Get the story correct. ECW's brand and video library was not sold to WWE until after they filed for bankruptcy approximately 90 days AFTER he appeared on RAW the first time after ECW's last house show.
maybe cause i havent seen him in a whie and i have been watching the monday night wars series on wwe network for the low low price of $9.99 and all his interviews are from like 2002 on there
Bischoff's big mistake want with WCW because that was over a long time ago. His mistake was with TNA because at one point they had a better roster than WWE. Needless to say he screwed that up too.
Very interesting for the simple reason As u get older u go let's keep it one thousand with each other no pulling punches he worked for wcw so he can speak how he really felt about certain things without consequences
greatest con-artist in wrestling history, he milked ted turner and dixie like 2 simple-minded cows. He should run for office, he'd fit right in with the liars and snakes on capitol hill.
Wtf are you talking about dude. He was trying to make the best wrestling shows possible.. I will some what agree on the TNA part, but that is because they didnt have any original ideas at that point.
MrMGR1986 Wtf am i talking about? did you not see WCW IN 1999? Or 1995? or 1993? Dude stumbled upon 2 decent ideas (goldberg and NWO) and he went crazy with both of them. His track record is no different than Russo's, but people s*** on Russo all day and give Bischoff a pass, total hypocrisy.
MITCHELL ALVAREZ I give credit to Bischoff for introducing most fans to luchadores and guy's like Mysterio, Guerrero, Jericho, Benoit, Malenko, Jerry Lynn etc for the first time.
***** FAIR POINT, Bischoff should get a bit of credit, but overall the book on him is still heavily dependent on the fact that he had Ted Turner's money to blow through, and when it ran out.....well you saw WCW-2000 and 2010-2013 TNA.
He's a miserable fella. Met him today at Wales Comic Con and he was so passive. Just wanted my money for a signature and didn't bother to give any insight into the single question I asked him. Disappointing.
The nWo was, absolutely, the greatest idea in wrestling history up until the Mr. McMahon heel run. The problem was it was a car going 90 on the freeway with no exits and no brakes; with no direction, it just ran out of gas.

This guy was bigger than Vince McMahon and the WWF for a time, and now he's doing RF shoot interviews
Well he lost dude.
At least people pay him to hear his opinion. You're giving yours on UA-cam for free...
This comment legitimately depressed me.
I love Bischoff and WCW
He doesn’t need the money. He must just do it to do it.
In my opinion this is the best shoot RF has done. It would have been even more interesting to see this turned into a documentary of sorts by adding in footage and slideshows of the things he was talking about. Bischoff just has that documentary quality, story telling voice.
It's good to hear from Bishoff again. I haven't seen him in years.
Bischoff is so good at double speak it's unbelievable.
The Monday Night Wars are a fond memory from when I was younger, and I want to think positively of the people involved, but really, I can't bring myself to like Eric Bischoff no matter what.
How young does someone have to look at near 60 years old may I ask?
Eric does know cable tv.
You know how Pepsi is always talking shit about Coke and Burger King is always talking shit about McDonalds... and never the other way around? WCW mentioned WWF way too much on TV. It reeked of desperation and never made me believe that WCW was number one, even when they were ahead in the ratings.
8:58 "They (WWF) are appealing to kids" FF to 2014, and they're even WORSE than what they were back in 95!
That awkward moment when you come on to a shoot video featuring Eric Bischoff and most of the comments are about Bischoff's appearance and age.
This is interview is pure gold, i kind of wish they would've used some it for the monday night wars specials on the network, or at least recent interviews....
As I stated below this guy in This particular forum makes a ton of sense and is actually very enjoyable to listen to!! He brings up ALOT of good , valid points
Say what you want, he made his mark and contributed to the bigness of Pro Wrestling.
Idk what it is, but I always liked Eric as a wrestling personality.
Kim Martin Nah, not sure about Heyman.
Vince for sure.
Kim Martin Exactly.
+Chris Purolover you have to admire the way his mind works. That's pretty keen to make a list of all the ways you can be different from Vince, instead of trying to beat him at his own game. Bischoff was definitely one of WCW's top assets.

Great coup for RF Video to get Bischoff.
My first reaction was "bullshit!". For some reason, I just can't picture him being honest.
I've heard Eric tell that Ted Turner/Nitro story a million times. Yes, a million (give or take). And it's the same every time, including the impression of Ted. I feel like I actually lived it.
Funny how as more time passes the more honest you become when talking about the past.
This looks good. He has a good mind for production, and I'd like to pick his brain in interviews. Good stuff!
Old and grey Bischoff is oddly likeable.
I'd never thought he would do a shoot interview. This looks good.
Could you blame sting for being pissed I mean he was arguably the most over person in wcw in 1997 and you guys him a shit finish for starrcade 97
Dare say the most over wrestler in any company in 1997.. Stone Cold/Rock wouldn't take that title till 1998
Sting With The Crow Theme
Was Hot Back Then & Was Way Over
After That Goldberg Took The Torch
when bischoff refers to steve bein pissed, i don't think he's talkin about sting. he's talkin about stonecold steve austin durin the time he worked in wcw before he wuz released
Starrcade 97 was the beginning of the end for WCW. A month later and WWF starts to win the ratings.
WCW won it back though when Bret Hart (or was it Goldberg?) was champ later that year. It was after that when they never regained the lead.
I always felt that was the main reason behind Nash and Razor returning to WCW because so many of the old guard screwed over many wrestlers in the late 80's early 90's and they were the only two guys out that group of wrestlers who really made it big with the Fed and then went back to Atlanta got their revenge.
absolutely riveting. should be a pretty big seller. fascinating.
Just watched it! good interview. I was a little disappointed that they didn't talk about TNA.
One of my favs in the wrestling business
Bischoff still the man .WWE need him back
Finally!
Eric Bischoff looks old here, but he looks fantastic for his age, remember he's 59 years old. At the end of the day, everybody is gonna look like that and there's nothing can't stop it.
This is a REALLY interesting shoot. I might get this one!
"I love... this man!"
As much bad as can be said about Eric, he was definitely a visionary. Too bad he let people destroy what he helped build.
Awesome interview. Subbed.
Thanks for saying that man...who cares how old he looks? We're all guys here, all of us are gonna wrinkle up.
Genius
"Every time we go out the door we're losing money. And you want to fix that by going out the door MORE. How the fuck does that work?" lol-i'm getting this DVD.
If this shoot wasn't Bischoff at his most honest, it was damn close to it.
Bischoff walking onto Raw in 2002 was insane
I know how much the 18-34 year old males loved the Dungeon of Doom.
The nWo should have ended at the hands of the Four Horsemen. A 4 on 4 match with the companies soul on the line. Flair and Sting start out together. That wouldn't be the four horsemen tho. That would be Megamaniacs 2.0
i agree with everything 'cept hogan. hogan as a horseman? that's like poppa vince as ECW champ...utter blasphemy. the line up i see is: flair, mongo, benoit, and guerrero or malenko plus AA as manager. its sweet revenge. LOL at the Vince Impression
Watch Bishoff reiterate 8 stories again and again and again.
I will not get this, because Bischoff always twists stories into ways that make him look good when he was the one in the wrong
Well, we all get older. and we all got to learn to live with it.
Damn he's gone well old
Bischoff looking like action man.
everyone putting bischoff down for looking old and not for what the man did for wrestling in general. between himself and paul heyman wwe/f would have been a very different place.
Where is the full version ???
I firmly believe people that don't like him is because they feel threatened and belittled by his intellect and eloquent speaking.
the funny thing is, almost everything hes saying is DEAD ON!!!!!! a lot of people don't like that fact! but it IS WHAT IT IS!!!!!!!!
where can I find this in its entirety?
EB should run TNA, having a 100% of the power.
what's with the cut offs?
I wonder how much you gotta pay bischoff for the interview
that was interesting
Eazy motha fuckin E!!
Oh shit is this old Eric Bischoff or old Kurt Angle with hair lol
Bischoff looks like he's about 75 years old here
Homie looking old
^^homie commenting on another dudes looks.....suspect
Sexton Hardcastle If you as a straight man can't say Bischoff was a good looking man in his day and that he looks like he aged 30 years since 2006 I think you might be blind ^_

Leon it's 2014 you're so close minded babe
Chance Turner Babe? You just blew past suspect and became confirmed
no tna? too soon?
Eric Bischoff calling Paul Heyman a sleeze-ball.
Ain't that ironic.
He's not aging well, wonder if he's been battling some illness, hope he's ok.
this video is evil :( i definitely didnt plan on getting on a phone and buying a bishoff shoot interview today but i gotta see it in full lol
damn bish is looking rough these days, looking like Hannibal from the A-team
maybe cause i havent seen him in a whie and i have been watching the monday night wars series on wwe network for the low low price of $9.99 and all his interviews are from like 2002 on there
Bischoff's big mistake want with WCW because that was over a long time ago. His mistake was with TNA because at one point they had a better roster than WWE. Needless to say he screwed that up too.
Holy shit, that last 20 years looks more like 40.
say what you will about this guy but if you sift through all the "bullshit" and "hype" A WHOLE LOT of what he's saying makes sense!
Bischoff looks like he's aged 30 years over night with all that gray. lol
BRING BACK ERIC BISCHOFF AS THE NEW WWE RAW GM ?
looks like Hartigan from Sin City
He has aged a lot.
I don't know if I'm just used to the look but i must say, the Bisch can pull off a head of black hair. His gray actually looks unnatural to me lol
SouthOx Maybe it was the wrestling business that gave em all the gray hair. lol
next wrestlemania 2016 new story line dx vs nwo
Very interesting for the simple reason As u get older u go let's keep it one thousand with each other no pulling punches he worked for wcw so he can speak how he really felt about certain things without consequences
He's alot smarter than he lets on.
greatest con-artist in wrestling history, he milked ted turner and dixie like 2 simple-minded cows. He should run for office, he'd fit right in with the liars and snakes on capitol hill.

So only three years were bad? Not too shabby.
Hanging out with big guys ruined him. He's way to small to stand the drugs they take. Look at him, he looks like he's 80.
wow
Dude's definitely from Detroit.
It's not cool to edit videos to change perception
Say whatever you will about the man, but he turned his 15 minutes of fame into a half hour. Not a lot of UA-camrs can say that.
Oh how the mighty have fallen. Hate seeing people I respect in the wrestling industry having to do this shit for Money
Sorry to be unoriginal but all I could notice is how much older he looks lol. Its a shame...but thats life.
Bischoff looking old since wcw and wwe days
he got shifty eyes -
It's errrrrrrrrrrric Bisch Bisch Bitch Bitch Bitchoff Bischoff
(Goldust to stone cold after getting electrocuted)
Damn he's getting old.
No questions on TNA. Dissapointing.
i hate rumors what i hear this fake rumors pissing me of i thought eric bissoff is dead
Goddamn Mr PissOff has gotten old
The first two yrs, Hogan did NOTHING for WCW.
Satan incarnate. Destroyed one company and left the other legless.
damn, he look old man....
I'm so tired of hearing about WCW and its demise. Its been talked ad nauseum
He's a miserable fella. Met him today at Wales Comic Con and he was so passive. Just wanted my money for a signature and didn't bother to give any insight into the single question I asked him. Disappointing.
I'm not getting this why cause most of the time Eric Bitchoff is a condescending mark for wrestlers
Mm
getting old sucks
