    The nWo was, absolutely, the greatest idea in wrestling history up until the Mr. McMahon heel run. The problem was it was a car going 90 on the freeway with no exits and no brakes; with no direction, it just ran out of gas.

    • @stuungar4034
      @stuungar4034 9 років тому +2

      I've always said the McMahon heel run was a straight rip off of what Eric Bischoff did as the evil boss. Granted it wasn't 100% verbatim, but it was the exact same concept. WWF has always rewritten history as themselves cast as the good guys, like condemning WCW for buying up all of "their stars" when the 80's WWF was nothing more than an all star promotion of every territory's top talent...Hulk Hogan, Rick Martel, Roddy Piper, Bret Hart, Dynamite Kid, Curt Hennig, Kerry Von Erich, etc.

    In my opinion this is the best shoot RF has done. It would have been even more interesting to see this turned into a documentary of sorts by adding in footage and slideshows of the things he was talking about. Bischoff just has that documentary quality, story telling voice.

    You know how Pepsi is always talking shit about Coke and Burger King is always talking shit about McDonalds... and never the other way around? WCW mentioned WWF way too much on TV. It reeked of desperation and never made me believe that WCW was number one, even when they were ahead in the ratings.

      +Chris Purolover you have to admire the way his mind works. That's pretty keen to make a list of all the ways you can be different from Vince, instead of trying to beat him at his own game. Bischoff was definitely one of WCW's top assets.

      Hulkamania Era, Attitude Era and Ruthless Aggression. WWE/F has been about sports entertainment for a long time. If you want wrasslin then go watch the indies.

      WCW won it back though when Bret Hart (or was it Goldberg?) was champ later that year. It was after that when they never regained the lead.

  • @dgenerate707

    I always felt that was the main reason behind Nash and Razor returning to WCW because so many of the old guard screwed over many wrestlers in the late 80's early 90's and they were the only two guys out that group of wrestlers who really made it big with the Fed and then went back to Atlanta got their revenge.

    The nWo should have ended at the hands of the Four Horsemen. A 4 on 4 match with the companies soul on the line. Flair and Sting start out together. Then at the next PPV Bret joins them as the third member. Finally at the PPV with all the marbles on the line, Hogan turns on the nWo as the fourth member of the Horsemen and ends the reign of the nWo. The following night on Nitro, they disband and the rest is history.

    • @oneme63
      @oneme63 10 років тому +3

      That wouldn't be the four horsemen tho. That would be Megamaniacs 2.0

    • @ricancira
      @ricancira 10 років тому

      i agree with everything 'cept hogan. hogan as a horseman? that's like poppa vince as ECW champ...utter blasphemy. the line up i see is: flair, mongo, benoit, and guerrero or malenko plus AA as manager. its sweet revenge. NWO towards the end was filled WWE stars gone over-the-hill. as NWO talks shit about how they're the greatest and then, one by one, you see flair come out, then AA, then maybe benoit, the...from the rafters, comes sting and then all that stuff you said happens and the NWO shits its pants. sweet revenge, indeed. oh what could've been.

    • @jackwei22
      @jackwei22 9 років тому

      27ShowStopper Instead we got vice versa at wargames in 97 the horsemen were laid to waste by the NWO with shocking betrayal of Kurt Henning and maybe the NWO should've ended after starrcade 97 or finished in 98 completely disbanded.
