It's not quite like that ,Jesus himself said not all that call in the name of God will enter the kingdom of heaven. Only the ones that obey. Many Christians today have a false gospel took the bible from catholic church, ignored everything jesus ordained whitin his church saying it's only doctrines from catholic church ,they mock the church with their own book, and think they are already saved just by believing. No they are not. Obeying requires obidience.

Pope Francis is 87 and no doubt is exactly what the Holy Spirit wants him to be. Faith is not about "exuberance". It is about belief. We don't want a Pope like the shouty Protestant Pastors.

That happened to me with flesh and blood in my mouth when receiving the Eucharist amazing . I thought I bit my inside of my mouth but it was flesh and blood .
Thank you for these testimonies of the Holy Eucharist. As some one called to the healing and deliverance ministry I worship with Pentecostals and also other Evangelical Christians. In one Pentecostal ministry many are healed upon receiving Holy Communion. These denominations believe that bread and wine are turned into the body and blood of Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit and not by the priests anointed hands which is what Catholics believe. Also these denominations use the holy eucharist in the delverance ministry.

I have a question Fr. Jim - if you believe the whole Bible why do you believe it is ok to kill enemies ? This is a serious question - I really want to understand how so many sincere Catholics who love Jesus think it’s ok to disobey His words - Love your enemies and do good to those who persecute you? I don’t believe any Catholics should be in the military. Do you? How do you justify it?

I am a retired veteran with 30 years in the Navy. I wrestled with the question you raised when I had to deploy to Afghanistan in 2009. I had a profound conversion in 2007, so killing someone was impossible, even if that person was an enemy. According to St. Augustine, I learned over time that killing would be justified in certain situations. It would be justified in self-defense and, in some cases, for the greater good; such a suicide bomber would take out many innocent people, and it would be a mercy killing to prevent this catastrophe by killing that person. This Bible verse resonated with me in the military: "There is no greater love than this: that a person would lay down his life for the sake of his friends" John 15:13.

Yes. I did take my dog in and prayed in a pew. My toy poodle sat intently in the aisle starring at the Tabernacle. I could not get him to leave. I picked him up and he kept whining and turning to look back. Dogs know!
