I just purchased an F1, however, it’s not at all original, the bike was professionally built from the ground up as a race bike in the late 80s.... and never raced. It never left SD county for 35 years. It is absolutely stunning to ride, it’s a total loss electrical with no kick stand and GP style shift AND street legal, sort of. My first time with it at Willowsprings was great! And I plan on another excursion to the track soon.
I had the same bike F1B. Mine was not legal for USA use and had stickers on frame stating that. As far as I know all F1Bs were not legal as they were brought over to meet the racing rules. Had to offer 200 for sale in order to race the bike. The bike did not meet emissions laws. It was still registered and I put on 10k miles. Sold it for more than purchase price.
1986 Ducati 750F1 Desmo. Cost $9,000 back in 1986 brand new. That's around $20,784 adjusted for inflation in today's money. Top speed 130 mph. Weight is around 386 pounds. 62.5 HP at 7500 RPM. Max torque around 52 ft lbs at 7000 RPM.
At 59 I'm right behind Mike and still riding hard, I appreciate his attitude and the bike is beautiful.
Tremendous bike! Gorgeous bike sir.
Love seeing different eras of the Italian engineers work.
Nice video. Very cool to see that bike, and hear from the guys that bring them out.
