Legend. My fav rickles joke was when he was asked how Frank Sinatra was doing towards the end of Frank's life. Rickles replied: “Oh, he's ok, you know, he's got Sicilian Alzheimer's...he only remembers the grudges.”
Hahaha i also love the "hows frank?" "Eehh its alright alotta drooling" gag
LOL
hahahah
Only Rickles could get by with that. 😄😄😄😄😄😄😄
Hilarious, as always Mr. Warmth. Any link to this interview?
I worked for Mr. Rickles in the mid to late 90's as part of his personal security, the stories I could tell would make a great "Tell All" book..... Looking back, I think I would have worked for him for free, he was a wonderful, kind and feeling man, he insulted me daily & often, that's his way of saying, "I Like You". .... The world was a better place with him in it! ..... The Last Of The Greats!
RIP Mr, Ripp
I am Jealous with a capital J, what a great gig
i'd buy that book
Oh shut up, nobody cares... Don R.
lmao
Mr. Roach I'm surprised if you have any balls left as they must have got busted every day
As a non-American, I just discovered Don Rickles and he is amazing. Wow. RIP
Check out : Telly Savalas Roasts Don Rickles on UA-cam. I love to hear him laugh in the background haha. Such a great time
I'm a none American too, discovered him a few years ago, another one for you to look for, Foster Brooks.
"Where was the first time you met Robert DeNiro?"
"At a whispering contest" 😂😂
Classic Don!
Seth Myers
Nikhil Kulkarni
the lady in the back just lost it
Nikhil Kulkarni I burst out laughing 🤣🤣
That killed me.
Dude was still funnier at 90 than most of us can ever dream of being...at any point in our lives. MASTER!!!
Much respect to Rickles, offended everyone and yet, offended no one....
YESSS!!!
After being on a Don Rickles binge for several hours, I can honestly say that he's the greatest comedian that ever lived.
I'm currently 2 hours into my binge.
i cant decide between him and rodney dangerfield but i agree
good i'm not alone
Richard Pryor? Dave chappelle?
I have no choice but to agree with your statement. Rodney is a close second.
The best story that Rickles tells about Sinatra is when Don has a first date with a girl and he sees Sinatra at another table in the restaurant. Don had just met Sinatra for the first time just recently and goes over to Sinatra’s table and asks Frank for a favor to please come over to his table and say hello because he wants to impress the girl with the fact that he’s good friends w/ Frank. After a while, Sinatra comes over to Rickles’ table to say hello and Don goes “Hey! we’re trying to have a nice dinner here! You got some nerve pushing yourself on me. Don’t bother us!” Supposedly Frank just dissolves into a puddle laughing his ass off and it was the impetus on why they became such good friends.
I've heard this one before, but it's still brilliant.
The women in the background aren't even pretending that they can't hear !
I was doubly-blessed...I had the distinct honor of interviewing Don for an article and he was everything you would want him to be, funny, genuine, and truly humble, despite his legendary status. I also saw him live several times in Vegas, one time he yanked me outta my seat and labeled me "a Nazi bastard.". One of the great nights of my life. There will never be another Rickles..the Mona Lisa of standup.
Alluva shalom Big Guy...
That's really cool!
NevadaBoss Let me guess, because you're German? Lol so funny.
Thats a beautiful story, may Don’s memory be a blessing.
He never fails to crack me up, his wit was razor sharp. But his humanity is what shines through. There is no doubt that he was a very caring man who knew not to take things too seriously. RIP.
Amy Poehler and Don Rickles are so funny I love them both. Thanks AARP
Just love her with Don going back and forth. The two of them making us laugh makes a lot of sense. Can feel the respect between the both of them.
I love the ladies in the back cracking up
I have always loved Amy's personality. She is always so smart, funny, kind and sooooo beautiful.
This show should had been on air 10 years ago when Don was more aware, he still did a great job but definitely his edge wasn’t as sharp as before. That De Niro joke is priceless!!!!
I didn’t get it... mind explaining?
@@MC_1993 Rickles always mocked de Nero for mumbling
His mind was there until the end, but his body had been failing him for a good 6 years.
Undoubtedly the greatest ball buster of all time. You can tell he recognises that Amy is a Boston sparkplug and is worthy of his company
Boston sparkplug. I like that.
I know he lived a long life, but I really miss this dude 😥 hilarious to the very end...if I could only resurrect one celebrity, it would be him 💗💗💗
Thank you Don Rickles for all the laughs and Love you shared so grandly to the world. RIP Don. I'm 74 today and on my way to my moment of transition with you in my heart. Peace.
Later ✌️
That "dig deeper", pure gold!
"I met Deniro at a whispering contest." Amazing.
I discovered M. Don Rickles very late in my life (i am no American sorry) and i find him totally amazing. And here, i love this format. Great guy, really.
Don passed away in April of 2017, RIP to a true legend
If only someone would have thought of this before it was so close to the end ;( Don thanks for opening up for those that admire you so much. Never be another like you.
I feel you. But let's still be thankful that this happened.
This show is so priceless, way to go, guys, a nice show to salute Don's impeccable career.
Even so close his passing his mind was still there in spades. So quick, so funny, and the most loved celebrity in this country, ever. IMO.
7:54 is classic Rickles. It’s just effortless!
I want to go to dinner with Amy. She’s hysterical. “I’ll need another straw when you get a chance.” 🤣
I'm exploring an american comedy for few years now and I'm constantly discovering some amazingly funny people... masters of entertainment. Thank You.
My favorite:
A: Do you know where your kitchen is in your house?
D: I don't need to. I tip somebody and they find it.
My father took me to see him in 1973 at the Sands in Vegas.
He absolutely killed me. I was 16
It was actually the Sahara.
Oh God, I was at the wrong hotel....
Mrdoctile you’ve officially made me laugh so much I dropped my pants and fired a rocket.
You have the best dad ever!
That's right and you win a cookie
Wow, we have lost such a fantastic man. Amy said it all at the end and I have a tear in my eye. He had a way of cutting you in half with his words, but at the same time it was like he was saying he loved you. I hope he is sitting upstairs with all the greats and making them laugh like he did for us.
Love this guy. Great joy. Sharpest wit on his feet than anyone I've ever seen. So natural.
"I don't really remember a time when I didn't know who Don Rickles was". Me neither.
It's like flowers in the air...or water from a car hydroplaning you. It's always been there XD
The extras in the background laughing uncontrollably is hilarious. Don is so funny!
I love returning to this conversation. It's wonderful, peace to You all ;)
I love how Amy has a connection with Don, with today's humor, and an attitude that is open to all of it
The guy had such a quick wit it was amazing. All in his head. Nothing written. Wow.
These are so amazing to watch now
Rip Don
Love Don, miss him. No body like him! Never saw these before. They are so sweet!
Love, love, love the respect shown to Don here. Makes me love Amy Poehler.
Amy does a wonderful job with our late friend. Funny, sweet, and smart. Amy, too! :)
Two of my all time favorite people amy poehler and don rickles
I find it fascinating how many modern day comedians say they first 'discovered' Don on Johnny's couch. He was a regular in the 70s, and that is exactly when and how I discovered him.....the fact he would say anything to guys like Johnny and Frank, fearless. We all kind of admired that.
This dinner with Don thing is great...cheers to the creators
I think I just spotted George Santos in that Second City photo from the 90's...that guy has truly been everywhere.
I would watch Rickles with my grandfather. I often wander if my sense of humor and my busting balls comes from that time. Thanks Pa Hogue
Where is the part where she cracks him up? I must have blinked and missed it.
Man, Don was the s**t. Probably the greatest "insult" comic ever.
hspahr agreed
He invented the style, so of course he is
Him and Dangerfield were the best "insult" comics ;)
What a lovely time time with two lovely people. The respect and love she and sincerity she has for Mr. Rickles and the way he tolerates her, no I'm kidding.the way is so good to her has left a lump in my throat and maybe a tear. "Dig Deeper!" That got me,lol.
What a legend . N a gentleman. Never really knew who he was until later in life movies I seen n he appeared in them a camep etc .N then I seen his comedy stuff stand up . Don rickles n Rodney Dangerfield two legends love them. R.IP
The dig deeper part got me! I miss Rockies god rest his soul he was the last of an era
I can't even SAY this guys name-w/o laughing!
Loved him in the Beach movies with Frankie & Annette when he was "Big Drop" owner of the parachute school.....LOL Also one of his greatest roles was with Clint in Kelly's Hero's
Don and Amy are great together.
"They wanna act like the place is doing good", holy shit, best laugh in weeks.
The ceiling could use some work...
One of a kind he was... thank god! Haha, miss him so much.
The guy was the last of the greats
Kane&chloe yep and 45 wishes to be as loved as Don R. is!
He's still alive
Norm Macdonald
He was a great guy
We still got Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner and John Cleese
Love Amy...keep them laughing...I got thrown out of a bar in Chicago..."Cubbies." ...I survived 😆
Thanks Amy. It was so nice to laugh again at Mr. Rickles' quick wit. Very, Very cool.
oh lord "at a whispering contest"....rolmaoff!!! i hope Mr. De(space) Niro can crack a smile knowing how priceless and funny that was.
90 years...way too short of a time to have The Don on this earth
My parents and grandparents saw Don in Vegas several times. My grandparents lived there for 10 years and would go see Don all the time. My grandpa talked to him 9nce and said he was a bit to himself at the table.
Wow!!! He serve in the Philippines... Thank you Sir!
The two ladies next to them are cracking up the whole time. LOVE this one
What I loved about Don Rickles was how he leveled the room. Even steven. No one was exempt from his 'touch.'
The most impressive part is that Don died five years before this was filmed.
Johannes - I literally thought you were kidding, but I just checked Wikipedia and it was confirmed.
@@communityorganizer5645 Ummmm...no. Don died April 6, 2017. This segment was filmed January 16, 2017.
@@wagonmaster1974 Christ dude, really?
@@mattmcwilliams5358 Don would think that was hilarious. Because it was.
@@LtFrankDrebin100 He should. It was his joke.
My favorite. And my favorite book also!
greatest stand up freestyler..he don't need no material..HE IS MATERIAL
At the tribute Tina Fey started talking about Don as if he was dead. Amy says "Don's not dead. He's right there." Tina says "Oh, I thought someone left their handbag."
9:28 Amy Poehler cracks up Don Rickles. Great to see him laugh so hard at such a... class act
She is insufferable. UGH
Don is such an Icon. Also, I miss Parks and Recreation
He never said anything that didn't hit. If he felt that his joke wasn't effective, he follows it up immediately with something even funnier. A legend.
Don Rickles is comedic genius!
He died 78 days after this interview. This was his last interview ever. So, Amy was the last person he roasted on camera. RIP Mr. Rickles.
He was doing this same show with many actors, She wasn't the only one. There was tons.
@@dabneyoffermein595 Yes but she was the last one to interview him on this series with different actors.
@@DudeMannn what happened to him after this interview then? Did he have an unknown illness that befell him suddenly, because in this interview, he was sprite, spot-on, looked very healthy, had energy, vim & vigor. Looked like he was ready to conquer the world and even had gigs scheduled in Vegas.
@@dabneyoffermein595 It’s called getting old and dying. He’s clearly ancient and low energy in this segment.
@@dabneyoffermein595 He died of kidney failure in his home. He was one of the OG insult comics. So funny, wish I could have seen him in person
Good interview Amy,Don is so sarcastically wonderfull.Cheers!
One thing I love about these interviews is how he lets people compliment him and love him. I don't get that many compliments personally, but when I do, I still struggle with taking them and not being dismissive. But when someone really wants to compliment you, it's important to give them that moment, which Don was great at doing.
As a kid he was my everything. All of the Best !!@@
I hope these Dinner(s) with Don are a way to pay respect and a way to respectfully PAY Mr. Rickles.
Two of the greats Don what can you say.
One of a kind
rare photos of human and animals
It reminds me of my grandpa and i would try hard to make him laugh and when i did i was god for the day.
My mom saw him early in his career in Vegas. She said it was like nothing she had seen before
Wow He's still remarkable and now so sweet!!!
I just can't get over how much he sounds like Mr. Potatohead (when he was younger)
Hard to believe he’s not with us anymore. Class act he was
Since the 60's, love him.
When they ask me who would you have dinner with dead or alive I always say Don because he would literally make me cry the whole time :)
"I watch myself because you can't top greatness"
What a funny man! I love seeing his hilarious interviews. How he has such good chemistry with Tina Fey. Oh... and Don's not bad either.
Love it.
This is wonderful
It’s wonderful a super talented comedian like Don takes time to sit with uhhhh this gal who welllll she uhhh does something
I love the "patrons" in the background, acting as if they're ignoring Don Rickles and Amy Poehler.
I'd definitely had my fill of blues piano licks in the key of G by the time this video was done.
I liked Don Rickles because aside from the humour, he was kind and respectful to people even when he didn't have to be.
How in the world did he outlive Sinatra?
Best interview
I’ve been on a three month Rickles binge.
Probably the last living guy who had known all the great actors. Singers and comedians from yesteryear. Now he’s gone. Nobody left to tell the stories. Thankfully we have things like this to watch forever.
enjoyed the series with Dinner with Don.. I wish the back ground music wasn't so loud as for someone that is hard of hearing,, Hearing Don was a little difficult at times....
