Hi Anna just want to say I watch your videos religiously! Im a 30 year old Christian mom of 2 little boys also a full time software engineer and balancing my wardrobe to handle mom life and office life while staying true to my style has been a work in progress but your videos help me be creative and confident with my fashion choices each season so i want to thank you!!!!
If I may 😊 (I'm from France) We don't have macarOOns. Those are from the US, and are those little chunky coconut cookies. In France, we have macarOns, the egg white colorful little confections with filling in the middle. 😊 And yes, we LOVE our sneakers! I have worn them (even with dresses) for the past 50 years. So happy that you loved my home country 🥰
I agree. A great raincoat is worth it. More than 25 years ago, I bought a raincoat in the middle of a rainy night while I was in Canada waiting for a flight to Europe. It is long, about five inches from my ankle. It has a collar and button down front. It's made of light, waterproof material that has held up read - like a long button down black waterproof fabric. It was on sale. I still wear it and it's great because it really protects you from some of storms we've gotten this summer. Thanks again for taking us to the Olympics and Paris.
My husband and I were there in 2017. We travelled up the Seine river on a Viking cruse boat from Paris to Normandy beach. It was the trip of a lifetime. I agree with you, the people were lovely. You look fantastic. I happy for your trip to Paris.
Sneakers were all over London in late February. The top places to have afternoon tea have "no sneakers" rules, but they can't enforce because everyone is in sneakers. I loved it.
That’s my idea of traveling: first the antiquities/architecture, then a great restaurant, then off to shop! I usually pack my new goodies in my carry-on, take the old stuff I brought with me, and whatever else won’t fit back into my luggage, to FedEx, then they box it and ship it to my home. If I do this a day or two before I fly home, it will be waiting for me there when I arrive. Plus, it the contents can be fully insured this way, unlike with airlines. FedEx has never screwed up my shipments in my forty+ years of using them, which I did frequently during my career, as a geologist sending samples everywhere, and having an account there makes things simple.🙂
Paris weather is pretty close to Michigan weather. Always have a coat, a bathing suit, baseball cap, and sneaks. Everything else is up to you. Oh and very cool you went to Paris for the Olympics. Wow so you could just buy tix for an event and get in! I always thought it was entertainment for the 1%, or families of athletes. So cool. Thanks for sharing this with us.
So true about learning a little of the language. Learning just “Hello”, “please” and “thank you” shows you’re putting forth some effort to be polite and that you are not assuming everyone speaks English. I took just my Sambas and my white vejas on a recent trip to Europe and was so glad to have comfortable shoes for all the walking and was able to dress them up with nice pants and a blazer and vest. I bought some inexpensive flip flops there for the beach/pool/spa that I could leave behind if needed. We, like you, did not encounter rudeness in Paris or any of France. Great video. Looks like such a fun experience.
I m surprised that you didnt see rudeness in France, i m here right now, been travelling around north france and paris for days including olympics - and omg the french are unbearably rude and self centred LOL - and i m only comparing things to reasonably polite England not to the super overly polite US…. 😂
I am going to Paris Sept 10, returning to Texas Sept 20. My daughter and SIL are living there for 9 months. They rented an 2 br apt in Montmartre. I noticed she wears white leather sneakers every day. Most people walk everywhere and most streets are cobblestone so keep that in mind. A few take Uber or the Metro. I can’t wait to go shopping , eat baguettes, and visit museums and galleries. After Paris, they have several other countries where they will stay for a few months.
I was in France in 1992 to visit my cousins and the joke was to spot a US tourist was a woman of any age wearing shorts and sneakers. I took my cousin's advice, I've never been marked as an American anyway but try to blend in when I travel.

🇫🇷I once lived in Paris, I return there often, sneakers yes! New Balance very very popular. Wearing a trench, or blazer plus classic jeans, in the cooler months a scarf with French knot, and voila you are French ❤ great video! Merci ❤️
This is one of the best videos I have seen so far, as I prepare for my first Paris trip (end aug). ALL my questions around "what to wear" is answered, in a way normal people can understand. Thanks a bunch Anna Reid 👊
Can we talk about how amazing your hair looks? It’s giving 90s supermodel vibes and I love it!! What types of raincoats do Parisian women wear? Would love to see what you end up purchasing!
I also wear the same Adidas like you. The same style you show from Paris is here in Germany. Ok, it is not far away, but I think trends get more and more global. Best greetings!
We Americans almost always wear clothes that are at least a size too small, and quite a few British do, too. I can’t see many French women making this mistake, fit is critical. If a garment has horizontal strain lines across the body, or puckers at armpits or groin, or pleats are pulled open, or it gives a squeezed-in-sausage look, size up! It will be much more flattering, too, if one is not squeezed into tight clothes, too-small clothes make us look bigger. That’s one of the many reasons I hate Spandex, it squeezes me and makes my usual size look too small, so I have to size up, especially for my naturally fuller bust and menopausal tummy roundness. Of course, older or heavier women everywhere make the opposite mistake, wearing huge, baggy tent-like clothes.
Like the video!! LOVE PARIS!! ✅❤️ Macaroons (ooons) are the coconut cookies that taste like an (USA) Almond Joy or Mounds candy bar… Macarons (ons) are the colorful & delicate French sandwich cookies made with almond flour and meringue that are made in a zillion flavors. As a MACARON (say “mack uh rhong” with the final ng sound being barely sounded) baker it drives me bonkers when people say macaroon when they mean macaron-two very different cookies! You obviously appreciate French style and French bakery items, so thank you for allowing me to correct this confusion. All best to you!!❤️bisous!💋

Thank you, thank you for sharing the people watching! I recently went to the largest car show in the Pacific Northwest featuring more than 2,500 of the country’s finest 1999 and older hotrods, trucks, customs, muscle cars and classics...I was looking forward to the people watching for sure.
That stereotypical Parisienne look, the little Chanel tweed suit, etc. was established by the 1960s, if not earlier. My earliest fashion memories are of women wearing this style at around 1965, when I was five years old. They, and me, even wore white gloves in the Downtown (San Francisco), which my Mom hated wearing. Some still wore hats, but not my Mom. I loved my white gloves, and my little fake Chanel quilted flap bag with chain strap that I wore (must have been an adult evening bag). Two years later the hippie movement began, completely changing apparel styles forever. I haven’t been to Paris as an adult, but my online viewing suggests that in Paris, jeans and sneakers or other flats are mostly worn, just like in all urban societies in the world. Parisiennes will often add a nice, classic blazer, leather jacket, or long coat, depending on weather and activity. Dresses and skirts are also worn, but mostly in summer. Those “Breton Tops” (Marinieres in French, there should be an accent-grave in there, but this keyboard won’t do it) are worn quite a bit, but never with a beret, while holding a baguette! I love Marie-Anne LeCouer on French style, she says the French Chic style has three pillars: keep it simple, less is more, and quality over quantity, to paraphrase her from my memory. But, she’s on YT, has written style books, and is so worth watching for her authentic French styling.
That sounds right! I definitely didn’t think anyone was dressed over the top, and even less so than I see in NYC! ❤️ Also love the history you provided!
do you remember the identical twin ladies in SF who wore completely matching outfits with hats and white gloves and always walked around downtown? SO CUTE.
Great video! It’s so nice to watch a video on Parisian style from someone who has been there RECENTLY. I’m jumping on the tall socks bandwagon! I loved it when I was in middle school and I can get away with them because of long legs!

Wow! What a fantastic video!! Thanks for sharing your adventures. I loved seeing all the street fashion in Paris. We have been to France several times. While I don’t think Parisians are rude, they do have more formal manners and have a “big city” no-nonsense attitude (kind of like NYC). Remember to say “Bonjour” and “merci” - and know what you want when you get up to a counter.

Hey Anna, great video! Re: hat to protect face from sun, there is a San Diego hat company, UPF50 wrap around visor, that I saw several derms on youtube wearing, and got one very inexpensive on Amazon. The great thing is it has a wide brim and rolls up to put back in bag or car. Not a real stylish hat, but for protecting the face while out and about and then easily storing, it is great. Since the top is open you can wear a pony or bun, and I find I don't get hat head.
LOVE your hair 😍(as others have also mentioned). I enjoy people watching as well, and loved that in your video. I'm so happy to know that the fashion I've been favoring and buying is on-trend 🥰. Love the wide leg pants/jeans and maxi skirts. Great video, thank you!
It’s been a while since I went to France, but now you’ve made me want to go back! Lots of inspiration in this video too, reminds me how many things I already have, and what I need. Red shoes and sneakers are on my list!
Yeah, I kinda was prepared for the Rudeness of the Parisian that never came lol. I had the most amazing time in Paris when I went last year. I will come back again.
Anna - In your opinion/observation, what percentage of the sneaker wearing women live in Paris vs women from elsewhere visiting because of the Olympics?
The sneaker women were all Parisian - the fashion at and around the Olympic events was much more like, tourists coming to the Olympics. Although everyone was wearing sneakers and sandals there too, but the skirt/dress sneakers was more so the women who acted like they lived there ❤️
Good for you Anna, glad you enjoyed Paris trip. You look beautiful and fit, whatever you do, continue 🙌🙌🙌 ah how I missed that type of weather. I grew up In Eastern Europe, and that chill in the morning, then warm and then again chill , is so missed😂😂😂SF it’s only hot hotter and hot hotter😳🤪😂😂😂😝 i know investing in trench coat or a coat it’s hard living in Florida lol I keep saying every year this year. Hopefully, now that I am Phoebe old Celine archives girl ( can’t get enough of buying new closet) I might invest in old archives trench. It’s style not just for a rain 😜 i love red shoes trend. If I find in my size, it’s so hard , I will get it. Have a blessed day, now going to watch your fall fashion video😜🙏❤️
Great video, so nice to hear you an american woman talking about european experiences. Would love to hear your views about Hungary if you do comeback to europe and want to see multiple countries. Thanks for the video ❤
We are thinking about going to Paris last week of this August, but we are now hesitant because of the news about riots. Would you say it's true? Which are the best safest neighborhoods to visit (specifically Americans)?
Lovely...agree we were there a couple of weeks ago. Found the French friendly for same reason..make a little effort and the locals were lso helpful. I was so worried about how to dress there but found the stereotype not true at all. Like you observed..sneakers and comfort most obvious. I took the opportunity to dress up and felt good..if not a little dressy...just cotton or linen midi or maxi style dresses with a blazer but worked for weather and comfort.
How fun! I would love to go to Paris just to people watch but going to some Olympic events looked fun. Btw I really can’t do the socks with sneakers thing. My 21 year old daughter of course wears them but I don’t even like it on her and she is very slim and tall 🤷🏻♀️
is the green stripe sweater and the cream sweater the same brand and version? Looked up the green stripe and there is a cream one too that looks similar to what you are wearing

You look fabulous! Love Paris! Great video! 👏🏼
Thank you! ❤️❤️
You can get a cute bucket hat! Macy's or Nordstrom's has super cute trench coats.
Glad you liked this one! ❤️❤️
It’s been a while since I went to France, but now you’ve made me want to go back! Lots of inspiration in this video too, reminds me how many things I already have, and what I need. Red shoes and sneakers are on my list!
Yes! And yes to visiting Paris again! 🙌🙌❤️❤️
I really enjoyed watching this video Anna cause I will be in Paris in 3 weeks. Thank you for the great fashion tips ❤
Yeah, I kinda was prepared for the Rudeness of the Parisian that never came lol. I had the most amazing time in Paris when I went last year. I will come back again.
So glad you enjoyed Paris, Anna.
Thank you! ❤️
Love your videos.
Thank you, Vickie!
Great video❤! Thanks for sharing.
Anna - In your opinion/observation, what percentage of the sneaker wearing women live in Paris vs women from elsewhere visiting because of the Olympics?
The sneaker women were all Parisian - the fashion at and around the Olympic events was much more like, tourists coming to the Olympics. Although everyone was wearing sneakers and sandals there too, but the skirt/dress sneakers was more so the women who acted like they lived there ❤️
The perfect video for my birthday 🎉: Anna + Parisian style👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽Please tell me you got macarons from Ladurée-the best in the world!
You look great!! You look so fit!!! Love your channel!
Great video, so nice to hear you an american woman talking about european experiences.
Would love to hear your views about Hungary if you do comeback to europe and want to see multiple countries. Thanks for the video ❤
Oh I need to go to Paris!
We are thinking about going to Paris last week of this August, but we are now hesitant because of the news about riots. Would you say it's true? Which are the best safest neighborhoods to visit (specifically Americans)?
Love volleyball and I waiting to see the women's synchronized swimming.
Love your longer hair!!❤
Please link the green top! 😍
Who makes the pink/red sweater top you’re wearing with the white shorts please?
