Tina is from France and Vigier is a French guitar manufacturer. She was one of their signature artists at the time and is still listed on their web site, or was the last time i checked. Tina studied classical guitar from the age of 6-13 when she switched to electric under the tutelage of Renaud Louis-Servais, a well know French guitarist/instructor. He is the one filming her videos. She is well known for her technical covers, but to me it is her covers of For the Love of God, Altitudes, and The Loner where she really shines. They require touch, feel, emotion not just technical ability and she nails them. By the way, she's chewing gum the entire time she's playing.
DragonForce are a British power metal band from London, England. The band was formed in 1999 by guitarists Herman Li and Sam Totman, and are known for their long and fast guitar solos, fantasy-themed lyrics and retro video game-influenced sound. I was never a big fan of Dragon Force but when Tina S released her cover … I changed my mind. Then Herman Li reacted to Tina (A must see) and instant respect for Herman and DragonForce. Tina has disappeared since 2017. She was 16 when she did this cover. All her covers should be watched and listened to. Thank Jeff! This reaction should bring in thousands of hits.👍❤️
Tina S is absolutely amazing. Pity she vanished. But I really enjoyed this reaction video, Its always good to hear an actual musician can appreciate another talent. 1 more subscriber here. Keep it up
Dragonforce are from the UK and still performing and the two guitarists are amazing. There is a UA-cam video where Herman Li, the main guitarist, reacts to Tina S playing this and he is seriously impressed. He suggested that she is using Guitar Hero with both guitars removed as they are on a single track which means she is playing both guitar parts !! It might be worth you watching it as very informative. Sadly Tina S disappeared from UA-cam at the age of seventeen never to be heard of again. But there some amazing covers from Yngwie Malmsteen to Steve Vai and others.
I guess in a way she is "playing along", but I think the more accurate way to describe this is that Tina took the uploaded GuitarHero3 track to this song, subtracted all the guitars, then implemented her own style of guitar playing.
Have a Vigier Excalibur Supra, best guitar I have ever played. Carbon fiber strip in neck. No neck adjustment . Just stays in tune. Received perfectly in tune. Temperature and humidity have no effect on it About the only way to try one is to buy one. Pricy, around $3500 to $6000+. They are going out of business end of 2023. You would have to order from France. Reverb & check seller. Pick France over Japan since it is made in france. I'm about your age. Played since I was 15. If I had the choice of keeping one of my guitars, it would be the Vigier. Incredibly low action.
Nicely done once again, Jeff! 'Through the Fire and Flames' is a song by English power metal band DragonForce. The song is acclaimed as the most successful song by the band. The song was the lead single and opening track from DragonForce's third album, Inhuman Rampage. It is known primarily for its rapid twin guitar solos by Herman Li and Sam Totman. It peaked at No. 86 on the Billboard Hot 100 and No. 61 on the Canadian Hot 100 in 2008, making it the band's only single to reach either chart. It also enjoyed briefly renewed popularity in March 2015 when Tina S, a French guitarist specializing in covering solos of heavy metal from Van Halen, Gary Moore, Iron Maiden, Megadeth, and Pink Floyd, and metalized classical music including pieces from Beethoven, Paganini, and Vivaldi, uploaded her cover of 'Through the Fire and Flames' to UA-cam, sending the song to number 13 on the Rock Songs chart. It has sold 1.1 million copies in the United States alone and has been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. The song is written in the key of C minor (but in standard E tuning), and like most other DragonForce songs it is written in a fast tempo of 200 beats per minute with a common time signature (170bpm in the first half of the guitar solo). Near the end of the recording, guitarist Herman Li broke one of his guitar strings. Despite this, the band decided to keep this recording and left it on the final album version. DragonForce are labeled as extreme power metal, and, while both being heavy metal subgenres, power metal and speed metal (as DF have sometimes been labeled as) are very closely related, with the former combining characteristics of traditional heavy metal with speed metal, often within symphonic context. Tina S has only 16 videos on her UA-cam channel and she managed to attract a following of almost 1 million subscribers to her channel, but like Clive Matthews mentioned in his comment here, Tina S stopped uploading her covers to UA-cam with her last one dating from Aug 17, 2016. I liked both performances for the technical skill that is being displayed, but to be quite honest, I don't really care that much for either of these subgenres of heavy metal. 🎸🤘

If we all fly together to France and search for her, maybe we can persuade her to come back and play. After 7 years of being ghosted, I sadly doubt she will. We have lost, most likely, the best female guitarist in the world! The handful of covers that she has done is worth listening to. Pair her with the originals. Herman Li said she had to have downloaded the stem tracks from Guitar Hero 3 and muted his and Sam’s guitars. Herman Li reaction video says it all. Thanks again! I would never suggest crap and I am always searching for new talent.👍❤️
when you have been playing the guitar for 40+ years and you think you are good... then you hear tina play at 17 years old and younger.. and realise you just wasted 40 years of your life learning as much about guitar playing as a monkey.... :)
totally not into dragon force or their style of metal. not really into metal at all, and no, i'm not a hippie, i just don't listen to it recreationally. there's a few odd hard rock songs i really like but i'd never sit down and listen to an album. but that doesn't mean i don't see the artistry or talent or effort put into it. it can be impressive but i still don't have to like listening to it. i've listened to Tina S cover this song probably 10 times in the past 48 hours just because it's really cool to watch, there is no tina s or dragon force on my personal playlist.
