한국은 진짜 인구 대비 피아니스트(물론 다른 악기 연주자들도 마찬가지 이지만.)들의 수준이 너무 좋다. 특히 최근을 보면 그 스타일과 다양성, 그러면서 보편성(많은 사람들의 공감을 이끌어 내는 수준.)까지 그냥 한 마디로 대단하다. 획일적이지도 않고, 특히 임현정 양은 콩쿠를를 거치지 않고 바로 메이저 레이블 데뷔 레코딩으로 빌보드 까지 석권한 참 특이한 이력에. 연주 스타일도 현대 연주자들에게 잘 볼 수 없는 이글거림이 존재한다. 베토벤과 바흐에서의 템포의 이유있는 빠름에서도 많은 공부와 고민이 수반된 당찬 예술가로서의 자질이 너무 보기가 좋다. 특히 라흐마니노프 3번에서 진짜 잘 어우러 진 것 같다.
음악에 아주 문외한이라 ㆍ잘 모르지만 나는 그냥 악보없이도 긴곡을 외워서 잘 치는것 같아서 님의 댓글 에 좋아요 꾸~~😄욱 누르고 ‥

라흐 3번은 피아니스트에게 최고 난도의 곡인데, 이곡을 가장 독창적으로 연주하는 피아니스트 임현정. 그녀가 천재임을 보여주는 하나의 상징입니다.
1978년 블라디미르 호로비츠의 실황이후 이곡을 이렇게 미친 존재감으로 연주해내는 피아니스트가 또 나올줄은 몰랐다.
그것도 우리나라사람이....
임현정씨 볼수록 대단한 연주잘세...
나이를 생각하면 정말 10년 20년후가 너무너무 기대가 된다. 조성진보다 내겐 더 압도적이다. 으아아아 젊었을때 아르헤리치도 이정돈 아니었다!

피아노 받고 임현정은 작곡가가 악보에 써놓지 못한 것까지 표현해내는 신기한 능력이 있음.
정말 아름답네요... 강렬하면서 섬세한... 대단함을 감출 수가 없네요... 오케스트라를 지휘하는 지휘자 분도 대단하시고요. 또한 대한민국에 이렇게 대단한 피아니스트가 있는 것에 대해 자랑스럽습니다...

임현정은 슈퍼휴먼이구나. 열정을 아슬아슬하게 컨트롤하는 능력이 대단하다. 샤이-아르헤리치 음반은 열정이 지나치단 느낌인데 이 연주는 진짜 엣지가 살아있네. 절묘하게 컨트롤되고 말야

What a majestic performance that was worthy of a standing ovation. This lady did an outstanding job of this timeless classic and the conductor was brilliant Bravo !!!!!
This is an incredibly exciting performance. No matter how many times I listen, the overpowering ease and mastery of the soloist -- as proficient as Rachmaninoff himself, if not more so -- delivers an astounding directness of communication in my experience of this music. This is NOT a balanced orchestra and piano composition, like Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Concerto. This is a highly piano-dominated score, which fact this soloist appears to take full advantage of, to fearlessly match the over-wrought emotional/musical intensity of the composer. Boo to all of the holier-than-thou criticism of this performance, which reveal far more about the critic than the performer or the composer. There are a myriad of unique expressive statements in this wild working out of feelings and ideas, sometimes strange or aberant, and often highly unbalanced, which time and again this soloist sees, uncovers, and delivers commanding, completely natural interpretive solutions. Complain all you like about the tempi, the sweeping of phrases, or the pedalling. The realization of Rachmaninoff -- the sheer luminosity -- by someone who can engage him as an equal at every level, is worth whatever critical interpretive expectations may be upended along the way. Yes, this is quite different from normal. To which I say, _Vive la différence!_ The 1st mvt. _ossia_ cadenza @ 10:15 - 12:30, the intimate cadenza @ 13:15 - 14:35, and the grand finale and codetta @ 37:19 - 39:00, are all heady revelations, delivered all out, of Rachmaninoff's most intensely personal challenges and passions.

임현정님 라피협은 1년째 계속 하루도 빠짐없이듣고 있지만 정말 대단합니다.. 라흐마니노프 플레이 피협과비교했을때 거의 유사한 속도를 맞춰줍니다... 항간에 너무 빠르게 연주한다고 비난들 하시는데.. 이게 정상속도입니다.. 라흐마니노프 직접친것과 비교해보세요... 라흐마니노프가 살아서 다시온것 같습니다... 또 대단한것은 이런 피아노속도에 맞춰서 연주해준 지휘자분께도 칭찬드리고 싶습니다.. 긴장감넘치는 곡을 잘표현한것 같습니다... 끝으로 라피협은 3번 1번 2번 순으로 좋아합니다...
매일매일들은지 벌써 2년차네요... 라흐마니노프 피협 1,2 3번은 거의 외운수준이고... 아직까지 더 발군의 기량을 가진 피아니스트는 나오지 않았네요.. 3년차까지 계속 들을 것 같아요..

라흐마니노프의 숨겨진 광기가 미화되거나 누그러듦 없이...오케 연주 속도때문에 순한맛 되지않고 본연의 매운맛 그대로 부족함없이 표출된 굉장한 연주였다.
Fantastic pianist.....she imposed a different character to the third movement, but in a so firm way , with precise, pure and dangerous velocity impressively closing with perfect recovery of the slow times, ..... impressive... Bravo Lim, from Ecuador....

라흐마니노프 피아노협주곡 3번을 이렇게도 연주하는 군요. 원래 이런 곡이었나... 휘몰아치는 연주사이에서 라흐마니노프의 성격이 이랬나 싶습니다. 어쨌든 제겐 다시 없을 명연이네요.👍👍👍
In my opinion, she is an unique and amazing pianist.
She is a pianist who possesses the same power as a player and the softness of a female player at the same time.
...... .... . the crazy black horse running in the stormy plains of this Concerto . And even if you look sometimes curiously "happy" at some moments while playing this dramatic and morbid music , you are utterly interesting , Mrs Lim , and even more , far more ..... , ...... after Horowitz and Rachmaninov themselves ......... you throw on this score a wind of nervous and extatic malediction . Your electric reading is stunningly aching and painful , as in some wonderful masochistic catharsis . Tremendous heart-rending explosions (18:45) ....... and ..... .sad beauty ... thank you , HJ , thank you , this is beautiful .... beautiful ... ...

This is really amazingly incredible. When the unsurpassed keyword in validating music performance is INTENSITY , then with this utmost powerful performance of HJ Lim an incredible intensity has really been achieved. Besides, the more demanding a music passage is, the more she seems to love it, the more she seems to be in her unmost element of happiness. I think she can play so extremely well because she is happy. It is a self- strenghtening win-win situation.
Surely, this performance is unconventional, and in my experience (too??) fast, but intensely musical... The conductor and the pianist are a perfect match.

이번 예술의 전당에서 1,3번 한것도 듣고 일리야씨 1,2,3 들어봤지만 현정님이 더 취향에 맞네요. BBC proms도 라흐마니노프 있으면 가서 들었는데도 이렇게 연주가 흡족하지 못했던듯. 근데 현정님은 라흐마니노프만 치기엔 스펙트럼이 넓은데, 한국인들의 정신적 고양과 치유를 위해선 이곡을 앞으로도 자주 치시겠네요.. 전국 곳곳에서도 자주 연주해주시길 ❤

In Korea, it seems that these insane genius girls are appearing every 20 years. I felt the same thrill of watching Kyung-Hwa Jung's teenager performance in London. Before discussing the appropriateness of the tempo, it is a great performance just to drive the drive to this extent, but not to get entangled in any passage, and to give ultimate percussive pleasure. Bravo 임현정!

This lady terrifies me. She didn't just devour the Rach, she swallowed it in one gulp. Rachmaninoff once rushed to the stage and gave Horowitz a bear hug after Horowitz performed the 3rd at the Hollywood Bowl. After hearing Ms. Lim perform like this I think Rach would have rushed the stage and devoured her.

I'm not used to this kind of fast tempo, but I clearly hear a different voice that I have never heard before... Same notes but different, unique voice is heard through her magic, even in the basic melodies. This IS REAL interpretation.
My reaction, as well. Faster than my personal preference, but well-done and thoroughly enjoyable. Particularly with Romantic period music, we should neither expect nor want every performer to conform to the same paradigm.
Listen to her performances everyday. She makes Rach alive to this day. How lucky to have her with us as she makes us feel ultimate joy with her amazing performances. Thank you HJ Lim :)

라흐 본인부터 바이센베르크 임윤찬 손열음 호로비츠 볼로도스 브론프만 진짜 여러 연주자들을 다 감상하면서 라협 3번을 많이 들어봤습니다. 이제까지 야외연주회의 드뷔시로만 알게된게 참 부끄러울 정도로 귀한 연주를 해내셨었군요...
어째서 조성진 손열음 임윤찬에 밀려 많이 모르는지 참 궁금해집니다. 백건우 손민수와 더불어 정말 잘 감상한 국내연주였습니다. 응원하도록 하겠습니다

서울음대나, 한국종합예고 나온 것도 아니니.....상고 나온 김대중, 노무현을 고졸 출신이라고 무시하듯이.... 국졸에 검정고시 출신인 이재명을 무시하고 깎아내리듯..... 이른바 학벌 집단, 주류 집단들이 보기에 비주류 듣보잡으로 본다는....

긴 연주를 처음부터 끝까지 동영상으로 감상한건 처음이네요! 정말 빠져드는 연주였습니다. 댓글을 보니 속도가 빠르다느니 오케스트라랑 따로 논다느니 하는 의견도 있었는데, 개인적으로 생각한 것은 오케스트라와 미리 연습했을것이고 지휘자와도 템포나 곡해석에 대해 협의하고 조율했을텐데 보통의 연주 스타일에서 조금 벗어난다고 하여 비난할필요는 없는 것 같네요 ㅎ 저도 뭐 잘 아는 것은 아니지만요.

연주자의 역량이 보이긴 하는데, 기계적인 느낌이 있긴해요. 그만큼 테크닉적으로 발전된거긴 하지만 기존 라협3과 해석이 좀 다르긴 해요

피아노와 오케스트라의 소리가 경쟁하는 듯하면서도 어우러지는게 영화의 액션 씬 같네요. 아름다운 연주 잘 들었습니다.
오늘 늬우스공장에서 2번 들려 줘서 3번 해 줄줄 알았는데 여하튼 또 들으러 옴. 내 생애 가장 행복한 연주입니다. 현정님 건강하이소. 그대가 건강해야 나같은 아제들 호강하면서 삽니다. 가을 하늘 같은 연주라 나는 하겠소이다. 다시 들어도 가장 쵝오

연주자마다 곡 해석과 플레이는 다를 수 있지요. 아무튼 임현정의 개성은 뚜렷합니다. 밤 하늘의 별 처럼 많은 정상급 연주자들이 모두 비슷 비슷한 플레이를 한다면 관객이나 시청자 입장에서 따분한 노릇입니다. 자신감 있고 과감한 임현정의 연주에 심취 하면 한국의 젊은 피아니스트들의 연주는 너무 긴장 되고 소심함이 느껴 집니다. 자신감의 차이가 드러나는 것입니다. 마침 조성진이 같은 곡을 연주한 공연 동영상이 올라와 있습니다.
This was exactly what I needed. Titanic waves of pure ecstasy, heartbreak, tenderness, fury, despair. Classical music also NEEDED some life and love.
Such an overwhelmingly huge category of music and uninspired, bored and boring musicians unintentionally (or sometimes intentionally?) ruin something so personal as this concerto (and many, many other sublime works) with their rigid, overly rational views.
Engineering exists and it's a perfectly honourable pursuit. Why stick with music if you don't have any artistic inclinations???

I will forever respect a musician like HJ Lim. A genius like her is what our world needs! However, I hope that her fast passages would be more forgiving to the conductor and orchestra. They are clearly on their feet - musically speaking. Being an artist is one of the toughest things to do and maybe we are seeing a process she needs at the moment.
i guess that's a tradition set by Horowitz when playing this concerto to leave the orchestra and conductor far behind chasing the pianist, lol .😅 the audience love it and the pianists all proud of it

Yes divine! Divine music and HJ Lim is a goddess as well. I've heard these masterworks since I was a tiny boy, now I'm a pensioner and this was really refreshing, maybe even more authentical than performances from another star-artist. I never thought such a virtuously classical piano-music should be so clear, all easily explained directly from HJ LIM. :-)
