Hi peter - it’s changed since i built mine. I actually found a good website today. Take a look at this page. It explains how to go about the new registration process

@@PerpetualTransient I was going down the path of building a camper on top of an already registered trailer. I figured if I kept it all within the confines of the trailer and within the weight restrictions then I could safely say I am carrying cargo on the trailer - just happens to be a camper. It is an 8x5 1.5t rated trailer. Good luck with whatever you decide.
