- I had been wanting to get one of the Strathfield garbage trucks in action for over a year before I got this footage; just had a lot of bad luck and the fact that they finish by 7am at the latest on a typical morning had really put me behind. Though, I finally caught up with this one during the busiest day (Monday) in the units area, servicing a heap of 240Ls along a certain stretch of road.
I found out the garbage drivers start at 3am, which seems fine with how quiet these Hinos are - the rubbish falling into the hopper is louder! lol Also thought I'd mention how well these 3-year-old (at the time) trucks are maintained; each day they are washed down with recycled water, deodorised with a bubblegum smell and are disinfected, and then they all go through a proper wash once a week.

Nah I didn't get any footage of the Richards and it had grabbers -- exact same as the Burwood one. Might video it one day if I can be stuffed for another visit =]
In my old council Hobsons bay the time your alloud to start is 6:00
Great work the arm is very slow and I prefer the Iveco trucks because there a lot faster the Hino can't go really fast because it has no power but Iveco trucks have the power

Reminds me of the old Hino Gen V's in the ACT, I miss those trucks
awesome as man, real nice truck and very clean for being 3 years old! I also couldnt believe they start at 3am! dont they get companints even no the hino's are quiet? lol. Great video Mitch

Yep Strathfield in Sydney - pretty sure I got this truck on Burlington Rd, but it may have been Abbotsford Rd.

Thanks mate! Yer Strathfield maintains their trucks very well, I would've thought it'd have been brand new when seeing it initially! haha I was pretty surprised they start at 3am, but the council can do what they want... screw the residents and their complaints =] hehe
haha Yer I know, how good's that for the drivers?! Same with my place now, can't start until 7am... councils seem to be very strict with contractors when it comes to start times, but when they do the collections themselves they start as early as they like!
