I watch a lot of hunting videos and you would be my first choice of a “UA-cam” hunter that I would wanna hunt with. The way you tell the story and talk about the game shows how much you respect wildlife and the opportunity to be out in the wild chasing fair game.

A match set is always awesome to find but a match moose set had to be like winning the lottery! Congrats! Another great video as always! Thanks for the great content

Your definitely my favorite guy to watch hunt. Just the way you do it solo sometimes or with your family is great. And your a guy that works hard unlike some of these other UA-camrs who pay alot of money or have things handed to them because they’re famous. It just helps me understand that anyone including myself can be successful! Thank you

Excellent point that has lead to your recent focus on replacing the word “Trophy” with Selective and how important that distinction is. I can respect the edict of not having to kill an animal to make a TV show.

What an amazing video! loved to see that youre not just out for the kill but for the experience. As i prep for my first spring bear hunt its a good reminder that its about getting out and enjoying the country as much as it is to be successful... Keep the good stuff coming!

Exactly, it is the chase., the pursuit, thank you. I have guided hunters to well over a hundred bears but have only taken two myself, black and brown boars. I think you are right in your statement that it might be that the big ones might have developed habits that allow them to grow big as youngsters. The sow may be what allows a boar to learn the things to grow old and big.

Enjoyed the footage. Been waiting for this one. Hoping to get back in bear country in may just to enjoy the wildlife and shoot video myself depending on how my father is doing. Seems his days are coming to end so it’s bitter sweet being excited to get back home in may for once and hopeful to get a day or 2 of solo solitude and a chance to pray where I feel the closest to god but also keeping in mind why I’m coming and they may be no chance to get out and hike. Thanks for posting up this one.

I really respect your philosophy on not killing to make a TV episode! That shows that what u do is truly documentary style filming, you are documenting your hunts as is, you are not trying to get animals to do what u want to make better content. I often see a lot of these other UA-cam hunter influencers saying “I would of killed this trophy bull but we just couldn’t get a good angle for film on it so we had to let him go” I always shake my head at that because that’s showing right there that u are hunting for the wrong reasons.

This past season I hunted with a 300 WSM. I'd like to think that would do the trick but hard to say if it was charging full steam and close quarters. I'd hate to find out. Haha

I like your videos, but the music and singing while you are talking is just too much.
It makes it nearly impossible to understand what you are saying.
I bluetooth the audio through my hearing aids so maybe that makes it worse.
Please address it for us viewers as I dont want to quit watching from frustration.
    Thanks…

@@jasonmatzingerofficial Really love your videography, and how you tell the story. My best friend lives in Roundup, and I visit to hunt, fish, & hike from East TN. I have an understanding of how difficult of a hunt and the physical toll it takes for spot n stalk bear during any season having lived in Washington state, & Nevada also.
Keep doing what you do! Helps keep me sane being too far East of the RM front. LoL

Howdy Jason. I understand the draw to hunt only one specific animal! In some ways it can drive you crazy. You make mistakes and you must learn from them! Your example of this hunt points out the fact that this is hunting not shooting. If it were easy, it wouldn't be special as it really is. Good luck next year with your spring bear hunt! Thanks! Later on Jason....
