Following a disappointing and avoidable loss against Bank of England last week, Sanderstead 1st XI entertained the triple whammy of Chipstead, Coulsdon and Walcountians at home. You will see for yourself how the game went, but give that it was all over by 2.45 it is a bit annoying not to get the game uploaded until after 11pm!! Got there in the end though, despite crap wifi (this isn't easy you know!)- enjoy....

A Christie-yogi partnership wouldve been perfect here
Rather shows the gulf between div 1 and div2 really. Their decent keeper standing up to the opener made a big diff with all the batters reaching for the ball being fearful of dragging their back foot out , hense all the wickets caught at slip.

Good to see Shareff batting 4, definitely more suited to 4 rather than opening. Also good to see him dig in a bit, there were too many times last year when he threw his wicket away in the first 10 overs.
He's a changed man.....
Interesting approach to first innings batting in May from the lads! It looked like they may have been auditioning for their first 100s game rather than a 50 0ver contest

Do you mind asking Tricky why he runs in diagonally? Very strange...
Its an old fashioned trait now, but alot of Bowlers used to use the angled run up. The theory is that it should get the Bowler in closer to the stumps thus making it easier to bowl stump to stump ie; Straight. Some Bowlers also used this approach to make a conscious effort to to get a nice side on coil and force the front foot to land straight on to the pitch and prevent leg side slide.
I cant speak for Tricky as to his reasons for doing it but I used the method for a while, back in the day, to try and prevent pushing deliveries down the leg side.

Just in case you forgot, its Chris here using girlfriends account lol, we had our first win of the season yesterday, bowled out Swindon for 153, knocked them off with 1 wicket down (myself lol) I did score 75 though, plus 2 catches and 1 stumping so not a bad game :)

Guessing the team you played will be pushing to win the league and go straight back up? Their bowling looks deadly, but I suppose we didnt really get to see the depth of their batting.

To put it into perspective before I moved teams to Rodley when I played from central ymca our low score last season was 13

One of the players was off to the Greek Islands to do a spot of yachting teaching. Poor fellow, but someone has to do it, I suppose. If the pupil is Greek and is not doing very well, call him malakas (and then duck).

Their bowling was just too good especially the tall medium pacer, he bowled very straight, nothing wide at all . You put the commentators curse on Shareef saying he was quite watchful and good old Roger helping the club out and sliding around the outfield. T is quite tidy behind the stumps

Myself at 9 and our opening bowler at 10 have been roasted by our captain for failing to chase down 105 on a tank trap like the waca. Bowling I only had 5 put down.

For simplicity think of gully as being at a 45 degree angle from the pitch.
