Thank you Dan for the Catford shout out. My birthplace and home for the first 18 years of my life. The filming looked really crisp and beautiful in today's light. We did well not to lose today.
Watching this video in March 21. Outside the end of the world has come to Swindon! Wind rain thunder and lightening about. A bit different from the desert conditions in Oxted! Anyhow the game is cheering me up hoping there will be a long hot summer of cricket! Just over a month away from our first game. Happy days!
I love the drone camera footage. That white picket fence should go around the ground. Their side had a good spinner. Push the singles....boundaries on loose balls.
If you can’t force a result with a player at one end with an unbeaten 100 and some shaky bowling then it’s no surprise they’re bottom. Some excellent play in here. Love the vids.
That was awesome and starting to get to know all the guys names. Never seen the grounds so dry in the UK...you are having a real hot summer! Thanks for posting and great game lads.
What a game! Incredible! I spoke with Tina Turner last week and she told me that her world-famous song 'You're simply the Best' was written about your team. I don't wish to be loose lipped, but she told me that she used to sneak down and have a sherry once or twice a week. She said that the wide selection of draught beers and the warm welcome meant she gave you four stars on Trip Advisory. She also highlighted Sharif's rapier-esque off drive and the dartoard as other notable highlights. She said she fell in love with Ian.
One man team batting wise Oxted. George kept running in. Tricky bowled too short. Jonny's longcock must have got in the way of that attempted catch. Shareef continues to try and smash every ball to the moon.
Also, the guy from the 3rd XI looks way better technically than some of those who played for you early in the season - very classical style. (armchair selector here)
I also noticed that Tyler was wielding a black knight bat, even though he had said in one of the indoor sessions that we was going to use Newberry, I have seen a few of them using them but George isn’t anymore.
Hello Dan - greetings from Poland Can you help me please? Who is the gentleman who has a beard and wears a white sun hat? I've noticed him at nearly all your games both home and away. He appears to be scoring but he could be an artist. Thanks for your help and assistance
Hi Michael - good spot. Don’t know his name but he’s a guy who started following us around and scoring - not officially, but for himself. I don’t think any of us knew him. Nice chap but kept himself to himself. Haven’t seen him for a couple of years.
Their main batsmen got cramp and couldn't bat his normal way - otherwise they would have won. The guys he was batting with couldn't do the job either.... but they were trying
Thanks Archie - A draw happens when the side batting second doesn't get as many runs as the side batting first and hasn't lost all their wickets - think of it was a one innings test match. If you know all that, but are querying the tactics, then thats a different matter - read the response to the comment above (or is it below) from Will Francis for the reasoning.....
Proper cricketer - best bat we play against. Played a bit of 1st class cricket for Jamaica about 12/13 years ago. As you say, an absolute joy to watch - I must put together a compilation of him flaying us, gracefully, to all parts.....
We revert to 50 over games in August. We will have played each team in each format over the course of the season. When I last played, 15 years ago, we just had this format. I never played in a 50 over game.
Sharif looks a very good player but I have seen a lot of the games and he seems to put a well put together 20 or 30 without digging in and getting lots of 2s and 3s amongst the lovely shots he has and making those 20's and 30's into 70's and 80's.
Hope so. Sometimes he just needs to be selfish and dig in and make those 50's me thinks. Sometimes a grafted 70 is better than a stylish 20. Got loads of talent. Seeing his stats, high percentage of boundaries, which shows he's hitting lots of big shots and not just churning the singles and twos.
It was the great escape! The Oxted opener carried his bat for 140 not out got cramp and couldn't run or play properly, but he simply carried on.... That said, George and Si did bowl well at the death.
Thanks Will - I get the point you make, but maybe the way I edited the footage leads to the impression you got. The reason Sanderstead had most players on the boundary in the final 3/4 overs was because the Oxted opener was on 130 odd not out and in total control until he started to cramp up and so all he could do was clear the ropes or run a single. Had he not got cramp he would have certainly got the runs required no matter what field was set, but with cramp Sanderstead had no option but to defend the situation - which could potentially have led to a win for either side, or a tie. Neither side deliberately played solely for a draw. In that respect, it was a great game - just had an unfortunate ending due to circumstances. It was bloody hot too!!!
We have had one of the coldest and longest winters on record this year followed by one of the best summers ever. That's global warming for you. Deadly heatwaves all round the World this summer.
Tony Grossi Ehh scientists have come out and said that global warming isn't as bad as it's portrayed in the media. It is a problem, but it'll take centuries for ice bergs to melt enough to flood places.
Its frustration coming out - we had some close decisions not go our way, too, which I didn't feature in the edit, and it all came out with that drop. The guys do all support each other, though, no matter what.
I request a video of every one of your disgusted grumbles after Shareef has given his wicket away edited together haha
Hahaha! Good idea.....
I reckon Shareef hits the most attractive 14 in the history of cricket
Yep, sure does
Oxted’s opener played beautifully. One chance in his hundred?
Thank you Dan for the Catford shout out. My birthplace and home for the first 18 years of my life. The filming looked really crisp and beautiful in today's light. We did well not to lose today.
Should have won easily! Never put Oxted under pressure, too many four balls
When you keep refreshing UA-cam in the hope that the upload appears 👀.
Amazing bit of fielding by George...very athletic!
Never seen anything like it! Even George was shocked.....
Just like his Dad

Another top game well done sanderstead
Love Dan's commentary......safety helmets in the crowd.....or something similar.....ha ha stay safe......brilliant as always.....

Correct assessment!
They must be a limp team, that opener has scored 3 100s and 4 50s this year.
They should have walked that in. Looks like the opener played for red ink. Didn't see many big hit attempts at all the last 3 overs.
If I ever move down south I’m definitely coming to play for you lot
You would be most welcome, hope you can drink beer (and anything else!)
That was awesome and starting to get to know all the guys names. Never seen the grounds so dry in the UK...you are having a real hot summer! Thanks for posting and great game lads.
Man its hot!! 34C today - no rain for weeks.

Splendid imagination! I don’t think we’ve had Tina visit us, but we have had George Michael!
Their opener is a gun.
One man team batting wise Oxted. George kept running in. Tricky bowled too short. Jonny's longcock must have got in the way of that attempted catch. Shareef continues to try and smash every ball to the moon.
Haha! Spot on.....
Really weird at the end there .... 24 off 23 balls, 5 wickets left.. refusing singles. They wont get off the bottom playing for draws. Very strange.
Also, the guy from the 3rd XI looks way better technically than some of those who played for you early in the season - very classical style. (armchair selector here)
We used to play cyphers aswell. We are now in the same div as catford wanderers.
Would you be able to get a go pro on one of the players, it would be great to see what it’s like out in the middle.
Not in league - the umpires don't like it. Maybe do it on a Sunday friendly if everyone's OK.
Sanderstead CC TV oh, ok
Well played Sanderstead... Not that much runs from Shareef and Yogi made it a bit tough... great innings from opposing side oponer... great shots !
yeah - he's a good player
What a brilliant player that left handed opener is!
The best we play against - he played 1st class cricket for Jamaica. Great to watch
I will pay for George to get some new trousers please
I also noticed that Tyler was wielding a black knight bat, even though he had said in one of the indoor sessions that we was going to use Newberry, I have seen a few of them using them but George isn’t anymore.
George borrowed one for a while, but has his own bat now. www.blackknightbats.com/
Ah either way I like his new bat.
Tyler just told me both his Newberry bats broke!
love the commentary :)
Keeper still has those short sleeves on! I knows it's warm but...
I know - bad habits are hard to break.....
And a drone! You guys are really going for it.
It was one of the Oxted guys - looks great, we will have to invest on one. £1,500 apparently!!!!
As I understand it the licence required almost doubles that cost
Ouch!
Yes another video 🤩🤩
Shareefs innings was just like his Fortnite skills, full of flair and no end product 👀
Longcock speaks!!!!
Hello Dan - greetings from Poland

You need to play langley manor next year id love to play you plus keep up the good vids
Ah... That's what you meant by drone! I thought you'd got Rex Alston on the mic for a guest appearance.
😂
good stuff sanderstead, favourite players gotta be shareef
That Jackson lad though the best i have seen so far, touch of Usman Khawaja!!!
The other teams left handed looks a tidy player
; ) @ 14:40 Would love to try and set up that fixture again for the 2019 season. Plus I'm the Sunday 2s Captain so should be possible.
Will mention to our fixture secretary.
So why was kasheef on the naughty step
Probably the same reason he always is...
George is Mr Dependable. Also I'm not quite sure how the opposition didn't win that - very odd. Another great game!
Their main batsmen got cramp and couldn't bat his normal way - otherwise they would have won. The guys he was batting with couldn't do the job either.... but they were trying
How did they lose that unbelievable jeff
Can you please just make a video of Tyler and Shareef batting? About an hour would be great plz thanx
I imagine there was rowdy barracking from the beer tent 😂
There should have been as there was lots to barrack about - but I think they were all too drunk to notice!
Why was Kasheef present, but not playing??
I play lots of cricket yet am still unsure how this ended a draw.
Thanks Archie - A draw happens when the side batting second doesn't get as many runs as the side batting first and hasn't lost all their wickets - think of it was a one innings test match. If you know all that, but are querying the tactics, then thats a different matter - read the response to the comment above (or is it below) from Will Francis for the reasoning.....
that guy tho at 2.08
he's passed out??.....lmao
That Oxted leftie is like a leftie version of Rahul Dravid - wonderful to watch
Proper cricketer - best bat we play against. Played a bit of 1st class cricket for Jamaica about 12/13 years ago. As you say, an absolute joy to watch - I must put together a compilation of him flaying us, gracefully, to all parts.....
Is there an upload today
Sorry not today
Any more development videos?
Hopefully next Sunday..... we had a game yesterday but couldn’t film it.
What bat brand does Tyler use
Black Knight Bats www.blackknightbats.com/
Love the drone shots :p
You should of got more than 1 over!
@Stephen Mcneill in the skippers defence I was absolutely hanging from the beer festival night before! 😂
@@leemousemac fair play, I think I would still be fuming if I was left to stew for the next 54 overs! 😂
Parched, brown outfield....just like 1976!
I think I missed this one. Excellent game! Was it Giles: so nice to see some cultured, "traditional" batting - very good supporting innings.
Christopher Talbot it certainly was!
I've also been trying to come up with some Sweet-related puns, but nothing coherent so far...
where do you buy black knight bats
www.blackknightbats.com/
Need to get rid of those draws, our league changed to win lose and it’s much better!
We revert to 50 over games in August. We will have played each team in each format over the course of the season. When I last played, 15 years ago, we just had this format. I never played in a 50 over game.
Good to see a decent score without Tyler or Shareef carrying the team
You're right - we bat deep.....
Why was Kasheef on the naughty step?
Lets just say he (some say unwisely) exercised his rights to freedom of expression.....
Sanderstead CC TV Well know I really am intrigued!
Sharif looks a very good player but I have seen a lot of the games and he seems to put a well put together 20 or 30 without digging in and getting lots of 2s and 3s amongst the lovely shots he has and making those 20's and 30's into 70's and 80's.

I like Sam opening he seems almost wastes down at 7 or lower, however he couldn’t put on a good score today.
Yeah - I reckon he'll get a score soon.....
If you ever are a man short let me know and I will come down to play. I can bowl, bat and field.
22:20 plumb
What was going on there? 24 of 23 balls ,5 wickets..my mum could win from there :p
It was the great escape! The Oxted opener carried his bat for 140 not out got cramp and couldn't run or play properly, but he simply carried on.... That said, George and Si did bowl well at the death.
Big bats simmo, shame you guys didnt win
Another great match......draws you in to watch the team put all their players on the ropes. bore draw....everything wrong with club cricket
Thanks Will - I get the point you make, but maybe the way I edited the footage leads to the impression you got. That Simon lb was a joke
The green grass is almost non existing
It is always hot in England.
until you get your winter aha
We have had one of the coldest and longest winters on record this year followed by one of the best summers ever. That's global warming for you. Deadly heatwaves all round the World this summer.
Mmm and its only gonna get more worse
Tony Grossi Ehh scientists have come out and said that global warming isn't as bad as it's portrayed in the media. It is a problem, but it'll take centuries for ice bergs to melt enough to flood places.
Was their No 3 a Pro or just an extremely good amateur ?
He’s a very good player - I think he came over from Jamaica as their overseas player a few years back and stayed.
Must be this guy www.espncricinfo.com/westindies/content/player/315590.html
that's the fellow.... well sleuthed!
Wtf is this format, why they taking 55 overs to score 200
Wasn't a fan of Sam's behavior behind the stumps after Jonny missed that chance. I understand it was critical to the result but not a good look.
Its frustration coming out - we had some close decisions not go our way, too, which I didn't feature in the edit, and it all came out with that drop. The guys do all support each other, though, no matter what.
That's league cricket I'm afraid, everyone cares and wants to win
