Tampa Bay Gag Grouper Season is HERE!
With gag grouper season-opening here in the Tampa Bay we decided to go do some pre-fishing. Pre-fishing allows us to find where the grouper are stagging up inside Tampa Bay. This way if we have a grouper fishing charter we can put our clients on a limit of keeper grouper! Fishing Tampa bay is what we do, and learning every year is the goal. With the skyway bridge being a grouper hot spot in Tampa we like to stay around the bridge for the bottom monsters. One fun thing we like to do is flex out light tackle Okuma gear on these big grouper, shoot even the small grouper give you a run for your money. Inshore grouper fishing can be challenging because of all the pressure that these grouper get, but if you learn the correct techniques you can become a Tampa bay grouper master.
