Actually, in Smash 4 some equipment grant passive effects some of which surpass stat boosts. Most notably theres an equipment effect that grants "critical hits" where you have a 20% chance of dealing 3x the damage.
Actually, the game that has the highest (theoretical) percent is actually Melee. There's a video by Verb Channel (who got the footage from mugg1991) that shows three Roys on Corneria (positioned right by the back of the ship). One of the Roys fully charged Flare Blade, while the second one countered, which is followed by another Roy countering that, and so on. They constantly hit each other and got sent back against the back wall of the Great Fox, teching each time they hit the wall. This continued until the game crashed. Since there isn't any limit to how much you can tech in Melee, it's an infinite. It's amazing how utterly broken that game is and that's why I love it. (Okay I get that chain-counters aren't really "one move" but I didn't think about that when I said this originally please stop telling me that)
@@Mario-pz2wb yeah, the video's called "The Most Damage Possible In Melee" by Verb Channel. Specifically go to 4:16 for the Roy demonstration (which was apparently done by mugg1991).

IIRC, Rosalina and Meta Knight are the only two that aren't affected by this. Jigglypuff gets muted entirely because she has no launch VCs
I feel like there’s a way to deal more damage than that with k rool. Idea for the strongest move: since sora makes projectiles his you give sora the metal killer and only give sephiroth stuff to buff his attack then you basically do the same setup but a counter with sora.
In Smash 64, there are a few glitches to give you 999%. Both can be done in Training. For the first, play as Mario, foe can be anyone. Spawn 4 green shells up close to your opponent, then Mario Tornado. This'll glitch so all 4 shells keep hitting each other and the CPU continuously until they disappear. The second, play as Fox, best stage (In my opinion) is Pokemon stage. Walk to the edge (just a foot away), toss up Bumpers (can only get three in one setting), use Reflector and it'll reflect the bumpers continuously until Fox's Reflector breaks.
