I saw this car in Aurora, IL at a local car dealer in 1966. It was just as you see it...the bar in the back had a Robbie the Robot toy standing it. The tires did light up and glowed.
What's really crazy is how complicated things for cars are today and how simple it could be this might have been hi tech back then but it's low tech compared to now days plus this just goes to prove gov is 50yrs ahead technology wise and his remote steering that's iron man shit
If you see this, from such an old comment. Did you restore the remote control? I haven't seen that part running, or the (new) car driving. Just parked. Excellent work! The tires make the original look even crazier!
Just watched that TV show- 4/2/2019 at 2:03 AM....... so I Googled it. Fun times back then. I was 10 years old so I probably watch it then with my parents and lil brother.
Automatic Braking System in 1960. Technology was Advanced more than most People will ever know. Guess going to the moon wasn't a reach as much as we thought.
Okay, let's sort this out. This is "Golden Serria II", NOT the original car built by Sam Barris (George might have worked on it but it was Sam's design.) Could someone confirm that version one was destroyed in a shop fire? #2 ended up in Dayton, Ohio for serveral decades along with the original Grabalski T otherwise known as "Kookie's T". What I can not figure out is how their owner, Jim Street, became involved. Did he move back to Ohio from California after buying the two cars? The cars aren't hard to track but the owner another story...

Reminds me of the car Homer Simpson designed.
The remote controls looked just like the ones TVs used at this time. I'm not sure if the technology was the same, though.
Way ahead of his time!
“Pulverized Fish Scale”!!!
'Hey bud, looks like your tire's a little flat .. Holy Smokes they all are!'

$75,000 in 1962? In current inflation, that's $735,784.77. Wow, that's a very expensive car.

OMG, what ever happened to that car?
It still exists. It's been restored. I just watched a video about it.
Damn ugly, and crude by todays standards. But, in it's day I guess it was practically a Jetsons car.
Great looking car and NOT a bit ugly!!!
