This brings back so many great memories, it's true nostalgic bliss thank you. My parents with other family members (aunts, uncles, counsins, etc) always did a yearly (mid July for a week+) family vacation coming from the Hudson Valley (Cold Spring NY) down to Seaside. From the early 80's until the mid 2000's and we always stayed at the Coral Sands motel. Some of the best memories of my life!
My Mom and Aunt would sit in the air conditioning and play Fascination, while my cousins and I rode the rides and played the games. Great times, Great memories.
This was great thanks for the upload. The best thing is the video's date Aug 31, 1989 that was the first job I had right out of art/animation school as a professional Animator in NYC on a Honey Nut Cheerio commercial as an assistant of course.
We had a house right there on Hamilton Ave half a block from the beach. We sold it back then for $20k. That same house is listed on Zillow today as being worth $1.7 mil. What did I do wrong?
The Ilions carousel is under the yellow and blue awning. It would be the last year before they sold it off piece by piece. I hear the organ music as she passes. Then the clanging of the carousel bell at the end. There are no spinning wheel games of chance left at seaside. Sad.
The Carousel has not been sold... It was taken down piece by peace and is being relocated on the boardwalk, probable next year will be its grand opening to public, it has its own muesem now with the history that goes with it. I think you can check this out somehwhere on YT Iknow there is a vidieo of them taking it apart and carfully storing it till the building was built it is finished this year however next year they will have it open..
@@bonniecollins340 yes I know about that carousel. Hopefully it will be done by next year. That one was on the Casino Pier , this one in the video was at the opposite pier, Fun Town. Yes it was auctioned off piece by piece. It was an amazing carousel, many of the horses had real tails and stirrups. Most had jewels embedded on them as typical of Illions style. It was beautiful.

Great video😁
The young lady bears an uncanny resemblance to Brittney Murphy. So very pretty.
I was just a kid. Wish I could go back
I wish they still had that Nintendo stand
Hello, may I use some of these clips in a music video about Seaside?
Yes.
Who remembers when the state shut down all the wheels on the boardwalk ? Boring summer.

Hords of people enjoying life....now if you want to see hords of people, they are at your local Wal mart trying to survive the food cost.
