Peak Design Outdoor Backpack: The Definitive Guide

- Just days left to back it on Kickstarter: www.kickstarte...
It's the most technically advanced bag we've ever made, designed to take you and your gear further into outdoors with more comfort, easier access, and more customizable organization than you'll find on any other outdoor backpack on the market. But hey, don't take our UA-cam description writer's word for it. Tyler from our soft goods team is here to show you every nook and cranny of this bag. Stick around long enough and you just might find your way to an elusive PRO TIP or two.
This requires a degree in engineering to utilize all functions. And it's so cool, I want one!
First product presentation that I saw done by Tyler. Well done, man. And cool product, too.
There’s no link in the description that you mention at about 2:30
Even for people like me who don't hike or camp, these bags are always very cool to see with all the features being shown off. I look forward to seeing a few of these new features and design choices inevitably show up in the Everyday line.
It's really impressive to see how many useful features from this product line can be incorporated into everyday products. I'm looking forward to seeing them in v3 soon. Keep up the great work!
Nice looking bag and very well made video, particularly showing load outs and how things work!
“There’s a whole video about sizing”
Is there? Where’s the link!
So cool to see James Zabiela introducing this awesome backpack ❤️
I guess it's kinda not too late to finally release a good video on these bags 3 days before your Kickstarter finishes.... Lol
05:08 - PRO TIP!! WHAT WHAT?!?!!!!!😂
Great job. I will take the 25L and 7L.
Are we not using lens caps on our lenses like savages running around in the wilderness?
12:28 dialog is the best! I say that everytime I have to pack
You need to start making outdoor clothing! And thank you for ruining my bank account with your beautiful products-again.
Is it possible to have option to add more gear loops and carry cords on ks?
Thanks, very cool video! I wonder when you will upload the fit video you mentioned a few times in this one.
Videos are NEXT LEVEL! 🎉
Its the same backpack but the 25l hip belt is sold separately?! Are you kidding me??
Can you daisy-chain smedium and extra-small camera cubes vertically via c-clips in a 45l bag to facilitate "flap tucking" in both of them? From a sizing standpoint it seems doable... Slightly asymmetrical though.
Wait, 25L maxes at Smedium? I could have sworn I saw somewhere that a Medium would fit and have one in my current pledge. 😬 Do I need to remove that?
The medium does not fit the 25L
@@borderlessnikoBummer. Thanks! But is that like “Does not fit. Cannot be made to fit.” Or “it’s a tight squeeze so it’s not recommended”? 😅 I really thought one of the review videos showed it, but can’t find it. Maybe I’ve just watched too many of them now..
@@AllenStauffer one UA-camr crammed it in but Peak doesn’t recommend and if you compare internal size of 27cm of the backpack to 31cm of the medium you can see why. They said the smedium was designed specifically for the 25L.
@@KirkChamberlain-f5u Yep, I see that now. Thank you both. Saved me $70.
What is the load capacity of a gear cord?
How does the center pocket deal with water? From rain or a leaking hydration bag?
well, you're fked
There are holes at the bottom, they have mentioned it on live get-together
“Yeah babe of course I have a good use for it”
*she shakes her head disappointed in me*
😆😆😆
❤❤❤
That’s so wild to sold the rain cover separately. Shimoda do as good with their bags but better price and don’t sell the brand name instead of the product….
the packs are not suitable for quick access. to take out or to put back a camera or changing lens you have to take the backpack off to the ground and open it completely. imagine doing that in wet conditions like rain forest or in the mud. plus the hydartion hose routing from the bottom to top is a weak point. and hydration alwas have larger volume with water. in the 25 liter demonstration on 11:50-11:51 minute you see when he closes the rear section of the backpack how it doesnt close smoothly and there is a big gap. the next frame is when the backpack is already close. and this is without bladder. with bladder i dont see how you close the backpack without putting o big pressure on the camera cube and all the gear exposed with direct contact to the bladder.
Feel the same. Editing the so call process really hides some cons
You can put the bladder on the front pouch, probably best not to have a water bladder with your camera gear.
if you have the hip belt on, you can take the shoulder straps off and spin it around from back to front. It isn't as nice as the quick access pockets on a lowepro or shimoda, but it's about the same as an FStop Tilopa (minus the top and back pockets, but plus more useable side pockets and a different laptop/hydration sleeve placement). I think I'd go for the shimoda over this - though I think one thing PD has over them is a larger distribution network/physical store presence. It's hard to justify the eyewatering prices of camera backpacks without trying them on.
@@borderlessniko you need center of gravity to be as close to the body not away. and also the front pouch will be useless for other things. remind you the 25 liter has no metal frame like the 45
@AlphaProductions-s7u won't be an issue really 3L bladder isn't much weight and it will be reduced as you consume the water. Most bags in this size won't have a frame
Selling the rainfly separately is an absolute ripoff and a clear exploitation of customers.
Wow, take a chill pill
Please don't use the lords name in vain even if you think it is under your breath. 😢
Jesus, you people like to control others, don't you?
I am still confused about how sleeping bag and tent get packed into the 45L after watching this video
Just curious, could you guys do a pack for longer torso people? Many companies don't make them because of airline size regulations. But I'm asking as a person with a 22.5in torso and some bad back problems... I'd love a bag that actually fit properly.
