    I love my girls kraton 4s. I have the maxx with widemaxx kit and its my favorite basher but jumping the kraton is butter smooth. For my birthday we ordered the exb 🙂. I found thats better to love the hobby and not just a brand. I like traxxas and arrma. Both have their pros and cons but without one the other wouldn't have pushed their trucks to the lvl we get them now.

    I was really excited about this EXB until reading Facebook and a few honest reviews. I'm thinking the extra "heft" is good, but also it's downfall. Along with it already being wide the extra weight is putting extra leverage and stress on some parts. Keep up the great content 👍

    • @longboardguy

      BLIND J having a Tekno buggy (48.4) and Typhon 6S V4 at one time I can agree the weight is a down fall. I sold my Typhon and kept the Tekno. The Typhon was a beast but it’s so heavy it was doing damages off of large jumps because of its weight that the Tekno jumped the same and walked away. It is for weight issues on these beefed up cars sometimes is not always good. I hope Arrma makes a kit version EXB Typhon that’s my dream RC from them

      @@longboardguy currently (arrma RCs) I own an kraton and a Typhon. When researching the Typhon I really wanted the 6S but when I read that the 3S was the same size but 2 lb lighter

    • @blindj
      @blindj 4 роки тому +1

      @@longboardguy When researching buggies before I bought it I found out that the 3S typhon was 2lbs lighter but the same size as the 6s version obviously due to the chassis and other metal parts. So I took the risk and purchased the 3S version and at the same time ordered a 4S system for it w/4s slipper assembly. I love the buggy. Very quick, very nimble, flies great. 21T pinion and have not cracked or broken a chassis. The servo failed on the 1st battery pack (test run) with the 3s system. After RPM arms, protek servo and sealed stainless steel bearings It has been very reliable. I have 10 RC cars/trucks 8 with plastic chassis, different brands and have not broken any of them. I jump them and try to not add any unnecessary weight.

    • @longboardguy
      @longboardguy 4 роки тому

      BLIND J hmm I might have to look into a 3S buggy Typhon. I do like how they look and act just like the 6s and your right size is same. I wonder if they will have a update version on the 3S Typhon soon? Yes I find for jumping especially the weight is really what will determine how the RC survives after many many jumps. I’ll keep an eye on 3S Typhon. Seems like there are a lot of upgrades for it as you have done a lot of them! I agree I really do think the right plastic and chassis etc are durable They are completely sold out up here though can’t find any Arrma really in my area 🇨🇦. Thanks for the info

      @@longboardguy Yes they did update the typhoon 3S. Some small updates and the price is now $319 instead of $299 here im the U. S. Same body colo but I know the motor tab to remove the power module has been updated and I think they have stronger internals like they come factory with the 4S diffs. Check out the arrma page for all the correct info though.

Had to remove the rubber insert and add a piece of plastic in the wheel hub to push the dog bone into the cup. Hopefully this is a permanent fix 🙏. You definitely broke some things I have not. Only a fanboy rates a Kraton 4 ☆'s on durability. It breaks every time u drive it. The chassis claiming to be 7075 is an obvious lie. The m2c is 1 mil thinner and never bends, the stock one bends on every hard landing.
    It's a fun truck but requires several hundreds in upgrades to be 4☆ durable. Arrma's 3s & 4s vehicles are very reliable.

    Is the battery connector an EC3 or EC5? I ran EC5s for awhile due to their superior ampacity, but they're just too damn hard to unplug, and they never even got warm with my heaviest duty trucks. I just "downgraded" to XT90s and they're a LOT better. You don't really need that extra 30 A of connector ampacity; trust me.
    For the kind of driving you do, it seems like a buggy would be more appropriate. (and more durable)
    Compared to a Tekno ET410, ($$$) how is this in terms of durability?

    I'm torn between getting the k6s rtr or the exb. I plan to upgrade alot to m2c an get a hw combo. Mainly torn cause the limited slip differentials are they truly worth it?

    • @NepDouble07
      @NepDouble07 2 роки тому

      I've found them to be a lot more durable than the stock rtr diffs. I put them into my v4 outcast and they've had minimal issues after 6+ months of abuse... The only thing I will say is that if you decide to jump high and wide, run aluminum diff housings at least.
      I didn't even check the fluid in my center diff when I got it, I just put it straight it, it was very low on fluid when I took it apart for maintenance, and the outdrives had a bit of wiggle, but it still works perfectly fine... I just had to top it back up and replace the outdrives.
      The rear diff did end up blowing a sungear, the teeth were fine, but where the pin holds it in place, it broke, it's the only gear I've broken in all of my diffs. I did a lot of reversing fast, then quickly giving it throttle forward to do backflips, looks cool, but it'll absolutely abuse your rear diff. I did it for that reason.
      As for the front diff, I built it as an open diff, I've had zero issues with it, still perfectly smooth. The ring gears, input gears and spur gear are in perfect condition as well.
      Hopefully it was somewhat useful information for you, I notice you had no replies, and I personally run these diffs, so I thought I'd give you my experience with them.

    I put the LSD in the rear after wrecking the open diff & it's hands down the most maneuverable Arrma to date, even over the Typhon which drives like its on rails. I had to turn down the steering dual rate on the dumborc to 50% just so I could keep it on the ground while turning. With the right setup, this thing could own any track, but it would have to have enough power to balance out the weight.

      @@thaNZdon I warrantied all the wrecked parts but they're on backorder. I actually bought a 2nd EXB to only run on 6s, but ended up grabbing the front diff from it. Horizon is sending me the parts to make a whole diff whenever they get back in stock. The 3 LSDs are setup 30k, 100k, 10k. I'm thinking the rear tires have to be spinning near the same speed in order to turn like that. The diff might not be fully locking up until mid-turn, then it pushes through the rest like it doesn't need brakes at all. It's some weird dynamics going on to say the least.
