Watching your videos is exactly like watching an outdoor channel! I know nothing about firearms, archery or anything else outdoors except fishing. But your production is so slick and professional that it's very engaging! Thanks for a great show my friend!
Thanks very much. I feel the same way about your videos when it comes to cooking I can tell you put a ton of work into them and they are great to watch. Jason
Juanelo. I can't believe I found you in a 5yr old video. Yet aling in a Primal ft Coyote Works. Love and subscribe to all 3 of you. Would be nive to see a video of these guys camping along Lake Ketchabigwon. 😉 miss you Juanelo
@@ELRORRITO1 Hi buddy! I also think these guys would enjoy a weekend at Lake Ketchabigwon (I can't believe you spelled it correctly!). Thanks a million for taking the time to write the good words my friend! We miss you too!
Looked liked a smashing time. My favorite little quip "god im glad we are back on are side of the mountain" lol we will get ya guys back over. Lookimg to try to head over your way soon. Atb Sean
Oregon Mike Thanks, Mike, yeah its funny that Casey doesn't talk more about it on his own channel, but he definitely has a lot of experience and I was very happy to have him along. Jason
Looks like some good memories have been made, nice video! I own a savage modell 11 too and it did take a while to find the perfect shooting ammo. Now im using 170 gr Geco Softpoints (german ammo) and im getting well under 1 inch groups at 100 meters. I really like the rifle for being so light.
It takes a while to get your rifle to "fit you" I still shoot the same 30-06 that I've had since I was 12, mainly because its a good gun and I don't want to learn another one. I probably should have invited Casey for this next weekend too, I mentioned it to Todd and he was a maybe.....glad you where are to squeeze in a fire l lesson too :)
backyardmeat I really enjoyed shooting the gun and I think out of all the guns I own it is going to be favorite, not that own a lot of guns, lol. I invited Casey but he is busy this weekend and won't be able to make it. We will see you Thursday. Jason
Really good, I was amazed you were shooting the top of the line ammo for sighting in and practice. Usually the shooting dudes pound 'less expensive', although same weight and style, for those practice sessions. Accurate gun, you took to it like a duck to water. Excellent outing and some amazing camera work.
A J Taylor If it wasn't so close to the season starting I would use cheaper ammo and then switch to the premium ammo and fine tune it a couple of weeks before season but season is going to start in mid April and I don't have a ton of time to prepare so I decided to go straight off with good ammo. Thanks for watching. Jason
Great rifle and cartridge! I have two Weather Warriors; one in 7MM Rem Mag and another in 300 Win Mag. Both average 1" at 200 yards with reloaded Nosler Accubonds. Oh how I wish they made a Weather Warrior in 280 Remington with a 24" barrel! Love me some 280 Remington! How'd you fair on your hunt?
A tip on shooting work on your breathing and trigger pull a lot. I do competitive long range shooting here in Central Oregon. Slow easy trigger pull and deep breathes are the key. If you want we could get together and shoot I could show you a couple of things.
I wouldn't dry fire the rifle just to practice your trigger pull. If you need to practice your trigger pull buy a few snap caps. It is possible you could break your gun by dry firing. Just food for thought.
Hi Jason, funnily enough I was zeroing my 10/22 Ruger last night ready to hunt a few rabbits and I came across your vid this morning! I am wondering if your friend hunts in Africa for big game for the trophy? I have to say that hunting for the sake of notching another up on ones list of animals killed is not something I support. hunting with good reason ie for food or to take out an animal who is sickly or weak is fair enough though. Anyway, would be interested to hear your views. Looks so warm out there by the way! A.t.b. Vee
Wildsoul62 I can't speak for Casey because I really don't know the details of the hunts he went on, but from what I understand the meat from those hunts goes to help local villages in the area so nothing is wasted, plus you have to understand that the dollars that are made off hunts like that are what pays for the protection of those animals without hunting dollars there would be no law enforcement to fight poaching. Thanks for the comment, Vee Jason
primalarcher Hi Jason, absolutely fair point you make there and I do see the link between hunting and protecting animals too, through the income generated. Thanks for getting back to me. a.t.b. vee
Yes, practice makes perfect, good shooting by the way
Desert camping and shooting. Priceless.
***** It was a really good time and I really enjoyed the new gun.

Like the new 'Bowl of Trffle'. 308 is a big old round.
EvilLabrador1 I have no idea what you mean by that, lol but thanks for watching.

Good brand and in my opinion a bolt action is the flattest shooting and best there is...
Heith Gagnon Thanks I am really liking it so far.

Doesn't the savage model 11 308 come with a adjustable cheek stock?
+Jaileen Morales I am afraid I am not the best person to answer that question.
Jason
+Jaileen Morales The Scout Model definitely does.

what's the difference between that and the youth model?

25 yards? WHY?
+Chris Rich to get it semi on target??! If they would've started at 100yds he wouldve been 24" low and 24" to the right
You start at 25. Then to 50... then to 100. Anytime you sight in a rifle... should always bore sight it first as well
