A pleasure! Hard to say what's "the best" also because i hear what they do, and some of them are not just limiters but comes with different stuff inside i can clearly ear, this may be quite cheating for a fair comparison, but it makes sense for a product. Although since i'm a maniac to have the full control over my processing, i usually prefer to use something that sounds less impressive, cause all that "magic" it's something i can do better myself with other tools :p
@@FrankieTedesco I really enjoyed several but love the Acustical Audio Tulip limiter. I have this plugin and have only used the compressors. The limiter sounds great.
DMG Audio limiter on agressive or punchy is my go to. But Toneboosters Barricade wasnt really done justice on here as they got different algos that sound completely different.
You are right, and that's for a purpose. With these kind of comparison i prefer to leave my impressions out of the equation, i don't wanna give any bias, but just you to listen and decide by yourself. Also because the one i use, works for me and my workflow, and it was certainly one i woudn't pick if i had to chose a limiter just because of this comparison. There is more when it comes to certain plugins such a limiter, cause some of them do lots of stuff inside, way more than limiting. I'd love to prepare a video about that, showing to you what these stuff does, and even how to replicate certain behaviors, but unfortunatly i had to run a demo for most of them, and as you know time is limited, and i run out of time. With a bigger channel and more support i would be able to ask for NFR and to buy what i miss, cause if certain companies are friendly, other cares just if you are big, while others doesn't care at all. And that's why i usually ask for support, cause i have lots of ideas that are very cool that i cannot realize right now.
I don't wanna put any bias, so i wont name my favorite here, as i didn't in any of my "plugin wars" series. Although i also made other tests for a video that should be out in november, where the approach was different from this video. Let me explain. The purpose here is just to let people ear everything, and let everyone decide by themself (that's why i don't say anything more here). While the purpose in the upcoming video is to tell (what is in my opinion) the best limiter for different purposes. So stay tuned, cause this video may be of your interest! Spoler alert! The funny thing is, the limiter i use, didn't "won" any cathegory, just because it's the right limiter for me and my actual workflow, but may not be the good choice for other people. If you dig in my channel you also find what limiter i use, cause i made a dedicated video.
I didn't forgot it, i just run out of my demo with Slate Digital. I tried to write them with no success. That's the reason i ask for support, cause that's the only way i can provide you better contents
It depends. Every plugin is different so i.e. a good 1176 can be from one company, while a distressor from another. Then it also depends on your level of knowledge. I personally use Melda for every kind of compression, but i designed my own compressors inside MTurboComp. So for people with good ears and knowledge like me, Melda is the best choice cause you can do what you need and like, and also change it if you need so accordingly to the material you are working with. Otherwise if you are like almost everyone that prefer to buy/load/use something without too much hassle, it depends cause every plugin is different. If this is interesting for you let me know, and i prepare a video. Tell me what kind of emulations you'd like me to talk about
Fantastic video🎉 thank You! I preferred quite a few of The most commercial ones. When i dont use The cubase native raiser plug-in i prefer ozone maximizer + another limiter like pro-L2 or smart limit. I wad impressed by some of these borh interfaces and some Sound wise :) also reaper native limiter was actually Ok On this materiale 😅
I Got imprrssed by barricade and limiter 6 GE and loudmax they performed much better than i thought. Others i was let Down by limitless because I had heard such good things and by ik multimedia limiters they usually do good stuff but I did not like it here.
My favs: Izotope maximizer, Pro-l2, Mdynamics, AOM invisible limiter
Frankie, this is EPIC!
Thank you!
Thanks for including out Lion Master in the mix!
Which one was your favorite Frankie? ;)

Glad you enjoyed it!

Excellent.
Super Top Franky 🇧🇷🔝👍
No particular order: Sonible, Ozone, el Juan, Pro L

It looks like the "clean" algo was used for all of them, when multiple were available.
What is your favorite? You didn't list yours... 🤔

AOM is impressive
What were your top 3 based on the review?

@@FrankieTedesco I tested 10 limiters and the best I found was ELEPHANT. You may agree. And now I’m throwing my other limiters out LOL
Reaper Limiter...wow!, Limitless, Ozone, Sonox, Pro-L2, Unlimited...
To many good limiters
Yes there are many that sounds good!
Sonnox, Izotope and Newfangled. Melda is not bad, hmm..
Hornet Magnus MK3 is easy to use and sounds great
It sounded kind of bad here, but ease of use is meaningful.
TB Barricade sounded bad on here and is most powerful and versatile limiter on lisr outside of Ozone. @@sparella
@@Byronic19134Really? I thought TB sounded good here, but I use Barricade 3 as my brick wall limiter, so I'm not impartial on that one.

@@FrankieTedesco what you think about vmr and vbc?
Not bad but neither my first choice. I woudn't use their 1176, it's very far from what i expect (and need) from such type of compressor.
