In all do respect, they've kinda just slapped the flag in the middle and made the numbers different colours. They look cool but it's just a bit lazy in all honesty.
It costs WAYYY more than that to make. Resin is expensive. The tools needed to ensure clear casting are expensive. The failure rate is definitely not 0 and a lot of material goes to waste. If there's even one bubble on a surface the die can't be sold. Stuff like cost of electricity but most importantly the time and years of skill are all in the cost. It takes INSANELY long to sand all of these to a glossy finish after demolding. Quality handmade dice often push to $100 a set.
@@chrisss3233 two gallons of resin (1 "A" and 1 "B", Crystal Clear Hard Casting Resin and Hardener Apoxy Resina Epoxica Transparente) costs $30. Bought in bulk they cost from 25% to 30% less. I think that's totally valid. It's a pricey thing, and I also wouldn't worry too hard about them not selling, it's apparently only a 1500 unit limited edition set so I have a feeling these are going to fly off the shelves and sell out.
Honestly. I think the dice look mediocre in comparison to other dice. They could’ve been done better. Still a cool set, just kinda meh and look like a standard prismatic dice set
I disagree, standard prismatic dice sets are all the same color. Do you know of another set where the dice colors match up to different stripes of the pride flag?
I think these might be the dice version of jewelry, where they just kinda look nice. I have lots of dice like that, but they stay on a shelf and barely ever see any games
I mean, who cares really? "We support people's beliefs. Now, here's this expensive product we made because some of you will pay for this garbage and think we actually care."
I am sure many will enjoy this set. I do think these dice could use some tint to them, though. Even in the ad pictures (with optimal lighting), I couldn't read the numbers easily. Light color on clear is hard enough for me, but somehow the d4 is impossible at the low angle around the 1:50 mark. It is a nice thought, in the end.
i didn’t catch that $30 of it is donated to the trevor project. that’s pretty cool! assuming they mean USD, that’s 3/4 of the price, so you’re essentially buying the set for $10 and making a donation. 10 dollars is a way more reasonable price! so yeah, pretty cool :)
Seems like it's about middle of the road for Sirius Dice's sharp cornered sets. And about on par with a lot of novelty sets tbf. Don't get me wrong, that's still A LOT but it's nothing out of the ordinary(sadly).
$30 is the amount of money that will be donated to The Trevor Project for each set sold. They're selling each set for $40, so it's more like you're buying the set for $10 and donating an additional $30.
@marimbaguy715 more like a way to sell product for extreme prices, people can donate to charity themselves 😮 It's actually a tax right off for their business also
1. the dice look really cheap for this price range. For this price, you can get some fancy metal dice sets or even some stone ones. Even if you take the charity part into account, you can make much better looking dice sets for the same price. I mean, this is just a disc in transparent resin here. 2. Homophobia, unfortunately. Yeah they look nice and I'd like to add them to my collection while supporting the trevor project, but at this point I could just donate 30$ if I could afford this much. If it were me, I would've made twice as many sets and made them half cheaper (or at least halve the donation price). This way more people buy them (I would've!), and the donation in the end would've been the same. I'm not a dice maker though
That's actually a beautiful set of dice. Making dice for the LGBTQ+ folks out there is a nice gesture but $30 is a bit overkill lol. Companies trying to bank on this will always feel dirty.
That's standard price for sharp edge good dice currently, really. I'm not saying it's worth it. Just saying that at least it's on par and not higher priced than the norm
@@AtimusXanth I don't think it's worth it but these dice are for people that really want to spend the $30 for a beautiful set of dice either way. The overall sharp edged dice shouldn't cost that much. I understand if the materiel was made of stone or any other material that isn't plastic.
@doublestarships646 these sharp edgers are usually made of a polycarbonate resin, and are more durable than standard plastic, metal and stone dice are 50+ wood and gem get up to 90+, dice prices are a bit ridiculous
It's $40 and 30 of that goes to supporting the Trevor Project. Idk if you're out of touch with gaming stuff but a quality dice set costs this much minimum, you can absolutely get cheaper dice, but they're cheaply made to match.

Not really. High quality custom dice are usually a lot more expensive typically. These are honestly cheaper than I thought they'd be.
