Dowdell and Johnson were a nice one to punch If we go after that guy for Maryland... Is it wise to have two guys who are the same player... Who maybe can't punch it in inside the 5-yard line, but they're beautiful between the red zones in the middle of the field.... Sometimes a thunder and lightning approach is the best mix.
It doesn't matter how much you pay a player, if you can't coach them, then you have a loosing season period. Look at Ohio St. Yeah some coaches are gonna be held responsible if they can't utilize those high paid players.
I think we also overestimate our NIL. I agree that we don’t offer the same path to play championship games, but neither does Auburn and Auburn consistently lands decent transfers.
We definitely don’t overestimate our “potential” NIL. Nebraska can go toe to toe with any major player. Nebraska is the only University (at the beginning of this calendar year) in the B10 to NOT BE IN DEBT. Look it up. UNL is 6th in the country as far as Money made with no debt. Overestimate…?!?!?….
@ correct me if I’m wrong, and I could be completely , but NILis privately controlled and not directly controlled by the university. If it was controlled directly by the university, it would have to be reported. So while UNL does great with finances, I think NIL is more than just what UNL can provide, hence why OSU and Michigan have better NIL than debt free UNL. I do think we have tremendous potential, but I don’t think it’s as good as we say.

They had so many players who were better than our players who were FCS starters. And what do we do? We're trying to compete with Ole, Miss LSU, Alabama and Georgia and striking out left and right. I was hoping we'd sign three o lineman who were starters at FCS... Get some depth and have an o-line that would be relentless. We haven't had depth on an o-line at Nebraska since the '90s... Always injuries... Always underclassmen playing too soon... Always a downgrade when someone has to step up due to injury. I'm not feeling the vibes right now. You yourself said we are not a top-tier destination... We've got money but we are proven losers.... Face the facts. We need to take Indiana's approach and get a bunch of depth on this team... With proven FCS starters and winners... Guys like nuan airy can pan out.... But I'd like to see a lot more proven players who are upperclassmen come here even if it's from a lower level of football.... Then try to get the top teams cast offs. There's a reason they aren't sticking around at their team... They can handle it... And now we have to develop these guys for a couple years.

I have one disagreement with you. THunter made a P4 team have a winning record. AJeanty made a G5 team make the playoffs. My take could be quite awful, especially if Boise loses first round, but I think you're way too low on Jeanty.
I have a lot of respect for him, I just REALLY respect Travis as a player. I think I have a bad taste in my mouth after Suh & Travis imo feels like Suh all over again
@@CornCrazed '09 was certainly the worst snub of cfb history. Suh deserved that Heisman. And I'm not mad at all that Travis won, I think he's an absolute stud. I just think Jeanty had a better claim, but that is only my opinion.

When we lost our defensive staff, the word was we have to find coaches who can bring their players... We were excited to get FSU and Kentucky coaches... Unfortunately to this point. That had no effect on portal transfers... Kentucky being the obvious disappointment

Then you say it's tough to get players when you're competing against Georgia, Ole Miss and LSU... Something tells me none of the guys committing to Minnesota and Wisconsin are at that caliber. Not trying to crap on you. It's more so being frustrated with maybe thinking we are a bit better or more of a destination than we really are..... Right now we're a rich school who can't win a big game.
