Nyziah Hunter just signed! GBR babaaaaaay! We needed an experienced big body outside receiver to compete with Quinn Clark and Keelan Smith. I think we are set on speedy, quick guys in Barney, Lloyd, Mozee, Mills, but maybe another experienced speedy guy would be good
I agree we need an experienced starter, but Hunter is a true Freshman. Though he played in all games, he was in the ACC. An experienced guy in the Big 10 or SEC would have been preferred, but I like that he is big and young. So, we have a guy who can compete to start and likely win one of the starting spots next to Barney and Lloyd, or Bonner, GBR!
@alexanderthegreatandterrib4589 he was a redshirt freshman this past season so he'll be going into his 3rd year. That's pretty decent as far as experience but getting Dane Key from Kentucky would be huge
@@MrBlpete I see thanks for clarifying as on ESPN it just said Freshman and so I missed he is a redshirt Freshman on On3. Since he has one year of starting experience that is ahead of most WRs on our roster. Since this is his 3rd year then he should be considered a veteran compared other receivers on our roster outside of Barney, Lloyd, Bonner and Bullock. It sounded like Key was close to a lock with Georgia and so I lost hope we would get him even though we have his former WR coach. Sounds like his GF is at Georgia and so hard to beat that with money or playing time.
Peru…so I’m sure that comes in handy lol. Sipple says things that are funny, but I think his dementia kicks in and he’s saying it intentionally without the intent of being funny. So, maybe more sad lol
I'm surprised Boston College is not in the playoffs the way you guys are talking them up. Every opponent.... Is amazing! Lol I kind of hope their All-American End exposes our offensive tackles so we finally Pony up and buy some top tier talent and depth at the OT position.
On another note… Planning my trip to arrowhead next season. I live in Shreveport Louisiana. Went to book at the best Western plus near arrowhead for those days, and it’s already sold out! It’s going to be epic!
I think the mainstream Nebraska fan understands this NIL & 1890 collective is a new game changer in college football. They will help NU stay in the recruiting race with the other blue blood programs-- -- but it's that goofy 5-10 % of every fan base that wants to burn the house down with impulsive decisions, emotional reactions and common sense goes Right out the window. It's early in the recruiting game and every big name school is going through it too.
Alabama is lucky because Michigan (their bowl opponent) has also lost way more transfer players than they've gained, not to mention all the Wolverine players who are sitting out their bowl game. Fans might be very disappointed watching that matchup. Michigan vs Alabama sounds good, but in reality it could be a 60 minute tickle fight.
If you want to poach players off playoff teams you have to wait till they done playing. I am worried we have signed too many transfers. Let’s wait for the winners to enter the portal
I know you guys are shills for the NIL, but why doesn't anyone ever ask "WHY wasn't Trev so apt to align himself with them?" There had to be good reason--he's not that dumb.
We honestly don't have the money like Nike or the oil money down at SMU. If they want to... those schools can 'buy them all' so to speak. Kinda fitting SMU shows up for first time since 1987 getting the book thrown at them, and now they can pay players legally. Just amazing. We can't compete with that. We need an overall salary cap, contracts and all of it public as it is taxable.
Everyone keeps saying Nebraska is losing Senior Isaiah Neyor and I just accepted it as fact. But I don’t see how he wouldn’t be given a medical redshirt for missing the whole 2022 season due to injury. Does Neyor want to keep playing? Will he stay at Nebraska if he does?
Like leaving a used car dealership without buying the car. College athletic programs are like a bunch of used car salesmen now. It's getting quite pathetic.
Texas Tech illustrates the idea that price is set at the margin... It doesn't matter what most or almost everyone is willing to pay for an offensive tackle. If one team needs a left tackle and they're willing to pay 1.5 million for him... That is the price. And there are always more desperate people than you think. I hope teams like Texas Tech blow this up so that sanity can return... But I'm not even sure that's possible anymore, especially with the ruling on Junior College eligibility. Thanks to 'equality and fairness' the number of high school kids actually making it into division 1 football decreases vastly.... They'll have to pay their dues in junior college... D2 and FCS first!
Receivers are only a plus if the QB has time to throw to them (ANDthe defense respects Nebraska's run game). That means that the team starts with the O-Line and until Rhule understands that (and the Big Ten Way) we will be underperforming on offense.
I assume you've been watching games since 99 scratching your head windering when we'll get some true o-line depth. Never mind an above average offensive line or a great one. We need to almost overbuild that position and operate from a position of strength... Instead we keep relying on guys who have many year histories of injuries to be our starters. And act shocked when they get hurt again and we have to play underclassmen who aren't quite ready... Welcome to groundhog Day Husker style
just some food for thought I agree that at 6-6 everything needs to be a lil better. NIL, passing, blocking, coaching. all of it. also with NIL. if ya need to add a guy or 2 ya don't just throw money away. let's say Hunter wanted 3 mil and that just kind of taps you out for grabbing & paying anyone else. Do ya risk that?? Money doesn't grow on trees, ya got top programs already looking for alternatives resources because it's not an endless supply of money for NIL Texas a&m scalled back what they wanted to pay recruits compared to a few yrs ago. Alabama & Tennessee looking for places to get more NIL money. ya gotta spend money to make money but ya also can't throw money away

Nebraska will have to change the age of majority from 19 to 18 to have contracts with freshmen
@phillipbrandenburg2105 thats a valid point but will pass faster than Tristan Alvano
The transfer portal, NIL, and gambling have changed college football forever.
And not for the good either

Sean. In what world map does Tennessee border Ohio?
@JJthelonelybullinasia I think he got Tennessee and Kentucky flip flopped but yes you're correct. not according to my map.

An OH DAMN player. That's right SIP
how much of Nebraska's $20.5 NIL will go to volleyball?
Sip, get around? Dude, it's gonna be cold asf. You will not leave the hotel, but to hop in a lyft (cheaper than uber).

No, many paid sports are great.

plenty of games he got ample time to throw. agree tho games still won with who blocks and tackles the best

The O-line was one of the highest grading positions at the end of the year. Changing the coordinator made more difference than any players could make.
