I love this place. This is another one of the awesome places in socal. I could spend weeks going up and down socal just to enjoy the food, views and feel. Amazing video my friend.
We have reserved a few times, you need to login at 7:50 AM PST and you need super fast internet speed. Then you hope to get one. It takes ALOT of attempts. Great video!
4:00 "Los Trancos: The parking was just adjusted as of May 2023. It used to be pay-as-you-exit. Now it is pay-upon-entrance with the Yodel app. Parking is $5/hour up a max of $15/day. You can also use your California State Parks Annual Pass ($195/year or try to check out from your local public library for free) which will cover your parking fees in this lot. [There has always been an incentive to get parking validated at The Beachcomber at Crystal Cove restaurant which would give you 3 hours free parking - but parking validations are discontinued from when the Yodel app went into effect."
Hi Chris. Great history of Crystal Cove. I'm glad those cottages are still there. Too many times they get torn down for the sake of progress. I like that fact that you can go to the beach or go on one the hiking trails. Thanks for sharing and take care.
Thanks again. We had another great family spring break vacation day visiting Crystal Cove near the historic district beach and parked at Los Trancos; all credit to your videos !
one of the most magical places in the world and one of the closest places to my heart. fell in the love with the pacific there-a lot of long walks beside her.
We absolutely love your channel! Thank you for providing so much information. We have a reservation at the campground here this summer and. we're so excited. Love this!!!
Absolutely loving your videos man! Very well done and so much fun! Love to binge-a-bunch on my off days. Keep it up, greetings from Amsterdam Holland. PS- sorry you had such a bad food experience here!
The entrance to the closest parking lot is at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Coast Drive. Once you go thru the state park ticket gate turn right and drive as for North as you can. That'll be the closest parking lot.
Would love to stay in one of the cottages of the historic district. The price sounds very reasonable. Kinda sad to hear it is difficult to successfully book one but I suppose that is destined to happen at popular sites with limited supply. Another beautiful California beach. Thanks for showing us around Chris!
I went to Crystal Cove about 15 years ago and loved it but didn't know how much was there. How about a video on another Orange Country beach? The nude beach at San Onofre? ;-)
Wow! I have never heard of this place. I need to go! I'm more familiar with the beaches west coast. Need to check out the ones more south. Loved the video 😄!
That state park looks incredible! The rental prices for the cabins are a lot lower than I was thinking. The price looks reasonable, but I can understand why you would need to book several months in advance. I know many campgrounds here in Michigan in the most popular parks require reservations several months in advance. Going for a hike and then relaxing at the beach would be a winner in my book!
Just think how cheaply people lived right on the California coast years ago. I'll bet Cannery Row and Bodega Bay were dirt cheap in the 40s. I think they filmed The Birds in Bodega Bay. Should the Pacific Coast Highway have been built? What would the coast have been like?

Where do you park to go to Pelican Point?
The entrance to the closest parking lot is at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Newport Coast Drive. Once you go thru the state park ticket gate turn right and drive as for North as you can. That'll be the closest parking lot.

And relaxing at the beach with a burger and shake! :)
Guess what??🌅 Smugglers ran boats there during Prohibition 😊🏖️... People had to get their booze🍻🍻🥃🥃
I thought $15 for a meal was cheap for California, especially after going to Disneyland. Lol! 😂
Always full.
