KCS Holiday Express Christmas Train Mena Arkansas

The Kansas City Southern Holiday Express is making the rounds again this year and it stopped by the historic railroad station in Mena Arkansas
The KCS Holiday express is a festive, six-car train that brings Santa Claus and his elves to scheduled stops all along the companies US rail network. Starting the day after Thanksgiving the express makes its way from Victoria Texas through stops in Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri
Started in 2001 and supported by charitable donations the KCS Holiday Express consists of a smiling tank car named Rudy; a flatcar carrying Santa's sleigh, reindeer and a miniature village; a gingerbread boxcar; the elves’ workshop; a reindeer stable; and a little red caboose.
The Holiday express usually stops in late afternoon at its scheduled stops and people line up to visit the various cars with Christmas displays, model trains, figurines, and more. Local volunteers are always aboard so you might see some familiar faces on your visit.
