+Shouldyoubebaptized What a wonderful train for the children (and some grown-ups) by the sound of it - nothing at all like that in the UK - they even struggle to put up a 'Merry Xmas' sign inside some of the stations. Some of the 'Preserved Lines' run what they call 'Santa Specials' at weekends just before Christmas in the evenings. I have never seen one so I don't know if, (or how) the trains are decorated but I am sure it is nothing compared to that CP train. It consists of a trip up the line (usually about 10 to 20 miles and back) during which time you are served an Xmas dinner and Santa comes round with presents for all the children. - Always very heavily booked, I don't know why some of the 'mainline' firms don't do it. Probably they wouldn't be able to justify the cost to their 'share holders'.
+retroolschool Jesus Christ said you are to be baptised in His name, yes and our we all having fun doing the joyful trains and things we get sooooo busy we don't have time to even think about Jesus Christ, now don't you all think if you are to busy that maybe, just maybe you shouldn't celebrate that for Jesus Christ, maybe you all could celebrate it for what it is a pagan holiday.🎅👿
Emilio - so true! I photographed some of the abandoned tracks and railroad crossings leading to the old sugar "centrales". Jack Delano did an entire book on the P.R. train system.
+razrramonel4077 The entertainers for the shows travel with the train .. hence the reason there are sleeper cars at the back of the train... the freight cars hold equipment and generators for the train lights :)
WOW, wish they did that here in California, the only holiday light show we have is at the DEL MAR FAIRGROUNDS and they charge $15.00 per person in each car !
one of the large parks in Albany NY does the same thing and is 10$ for a child 4-12 and 20 for 12 and up. better to just put sweater on and walk through xd!!
I wished the UP or BNSF here in the states would do something like this but it doesnt add to the Bottom Line, and Im sure the liars for Hire would put the stop to it anyway. Miss the Good Ole days and im not that old ha ha
It could go for a whole month or whatever it takes to see st night but run through Canada I’m sure ther would be people to see it at Xmas time happy holidays or merry Xmas and happy new year all
I was at the one in Toronto and those the engineer told me those ECO locomotives suck at pulling anything heavy like this holiday train and that they should go back to the 4400CW's.
This brings back memories when I saw this as a child. Now I’m 14. Brings back nostalgia
My son absolutely loves this video. We watch it most days. Thank you very much.
I watched this when i was 6
Now i'm 12 years old.

wow! these canadians put a lot into the holidays celebrations. this is beautiful. we don't have freight trains in puerto rico since 1957.
Emilio - so true! I photographed some of the abandoned tracks and railroad crossings leading to the old sugar "centrales". Jack Delano did an entire book on the P.R. train system.
thanks for sharing! looking forward to this year's holiday train.
I've seen 2246 with and without the awesome lights
Very nice Christmas tradition.
CP you did Christmas proud Thank you!
I was mistaken about the locomotive type, it is a GP20C-ECO
I tink its a gp 38
The GP20C-ECO is a rebuild of the GP-9 locomotive
I never seen a Christmas train like that before
Fantastic!! Wish we did this here in the U.S.!! Thank you for this!! Merry Christmas!!

JOYAS NOEL, ELTON!
They should have used the lights on the rear passage cart and not a FRED device light but other than that this train is amazing!
What a treat for the eyes thank you
Hi
Cool train
Very beautiful
I think it's really cool they have the Stars & Stripes along with the Canadian flag.
This is so cool! I wish they would do more things like this in USA🇺🇸
I think a few scenic railroads do something like this you can ride.
THERE IS ONE THAT GOES TO THE USA
Kinda nice seeing a combonation Freight & Passenger Christmas Train.

They actually do!
WOW, wish they did that here in California, the only holiday light show we have is at the DEL MAR FAIRGROUNDS and they charge $15.00 per person in each car !

Oohhh !!!! IIT'S GGRRRREEAAATT !!!
Beautifully done....thank you for sharing.
Looks like the lights on the crossing were still flashing even though the gates were up and the bell wasn't ringing.
Some signals are set to keep- flashing while gates are up as a caution when the train is sitting right at the crossing.
