Literally the ONLY Type-C device I've ever had to have this issue. I've seen it a bunch with Micro-USB for years back in the day, lots of issues with that but Type-C has been bullet proof, until I got this phone. Sad way to go out LG. Great phone, but what a flaw.
i bought the v60 and had to change the port within 2 weeks of owning the phone. It last for 11 months now i have to change it again. Really sad ending to such a great phone
@@RkAncheta-h7k I changed the port using this video and one other. It honestly wasn't that hard. I then use a magnetic USB adapter to preserve it and all is well..
back removal is easy... just use pry tool... don't use heat gun! of course, after that, u have to replace the two side tape... lg v60 disassembly is the keyword😉
Thanks to this video i only needed to watch the part one i was able to replace my charging port its part easy to do and it was pretty fast the last one gave up not bad after having the phone for 3 years now i can charge it normally then wireless takes like about 4 hours full
I've had my V60's charging port replaced, and yet the problem still persists! I'm starting to think the charging flex cable is to blame as well, what do you think about it?
Do you still use the dual Screen Case? I think that may be cause the problem. The charging port moves everytime you slide on the case, maybe loosening it. Just a theory
How long does it take to have a loose pot charger like this? If it's the original unit I would like to know the approximate time Is there a long-term solution? For example, can I change only the port of another model instead?

I am also facing the same issue. It will work with certain cable / chargers only. Others won't charge the same. My port doesn't detect any OTG devices either. Post replacement, have the device detect OTG device?

NOTE EVERYONE: one screw under the wireless charging coil u need to remove. Its right at the edge of the battery "tray" where u can lift up the charge coil. Antenna wire 2 - follow the right side of the phone down to the Aux port. It has the same style circular connector.

I just found out, most Type C cable's tips are too thin for the LG V60, I took a piler and squeezed a little bit to make the tip more round and it solved the inconsistent charging problems:)
I've tried that helped for a bit but after all this time I used my steam deck power cord. Dayum connection is solid! I've bought all kinds of usb c cables with the same issue. Steam deck power cord never looses connection! Just found this out about 3 weeks ago. Those flex antenna cables are so fragile. 2 lgv60 s I've replaced the ports and both phone now have issues with carrier network cconnection. I've replace swapped logic boards parts screens for years. Never had this issue. First straight no service. The second drops constantly from service. I now have a microscope about to look at those connecting pads for the antennae. But yeah steam deck power cord is a solid fit. Been propping anything I can find under the cord for about a year.haha
This is my third time opening the back on my phone. If u can link a photo link to help ppl coming after to see what side of the port you're squeezing.. I just bought a magnetic USB c port insert so hopefully I wont have to do this again but I'd rather squeeze it
In your video you replace the USB C port complete with the flex board. I see that I can buy just the port without the board much cheaper. Is that worth it? Or is the new board necessary?
I think the actual port it's self requires soldering to connect to the rest with ribbon connector. So better to have the whole ribbon attached when buying

So when I'm in WiFi range I make/receive calls using WiFi calling; elsewhere, I'm dead. I checked: both antenna connections are fine. And my wife's phone (same model) gets reception. Any ideas?

When I connect my LG V60 to a slower charger like 5W, the problem goes away completely but the problem came back after connected it to 15W fast charger again. So i have a v60. Some wires need to be twisted to charge the phone. Some dont charge the phone at all..some some charge the phone in 1 direction. And not the other. Some wires charge at slow speed in 1 direction and fast in the other. Some charge slowly fine in either direction I always thought its just the cables i have are not compatible with the phone. But maybe the port needs to be replaced. Any advice would be great I bought it used,.but it was in mint condition when i bought it. So it has been this way since i have had it

it does, usually it seems to happen because they designed the port to be loose for the dual screen case to slide in easily, this tends to break solder pads inside the phone though. Only fix for this is to replace this or warranty your phone, good luck doing that now though, LG discontinued them all.

I had carefully laid out the screws in the exact placement they came out of the holes, but too soon trusted the video that they were the same. One is brassy and ever so slightly shorter, and I really hope that one of you noticed which hole it came out of. Please let me know if you remember or can tell in the video

Uhhh... a tutorial video shouldn't just SKIP entire steps and assume you know how to do them. It's crazy you didn't show us how to take the back plate off!
Agreed but in earnest its *very* simple. Heat up the back real hot with a hair dryer and you can slide a spudger or simple thin plastic underneath. There are no clips and it just comes off once you break the tape adhesion

You can use the same back cover just as long as it wasn't damaged.

So did you squeeze the sides of the tip or the top and bottom? Cuz I have so many cables I have tried and this would be a great help

Double check black antenna line, both ends. Also check connector for the 5g antenna on the side next to volume buttons I think as well.

go to your local cellphone repair shop, they will have hundreds of them.

Some eyeglasses repair kits have very similar screws, but you would need to check carefully for a match

I have been able to replace the charging port which is working fine but the fingerprint sensor and vibration is no longer working.
Check connection ribbons before sealing back up. Same thing happened to me once

I'm assuming that requires soldering. Definitely try and find the port already connected to the battery ribbon together

The USB port is probably messing up, it's a known issue with the V60. Connection get loose and doesn't charge

Always good to check your Lego Connections, unplug screen ribbon and snap back together.
