FIXED! It worked! Thank you for the tutorial! This fix worked exactly as advertised and saved me from buying a new phone.
Normally I would have gladly taken an excuse to upgrade, but quite frankly no pandemic-era phone touches this device (when the USB port works) when it comes to features I value. I looked and looked and even for double the price a "new" device would have been a downgrade. Hopefully this fix will allow me to keep this device a few more years... long enough for manufacturers to stop this downward spiral.

Great 2-part video on this. My wife's v60 port died, so I got a replacement part and followed this. The only problem I had, and not the fault to you, was the replacement part I got did not have the attached board. Part of the charging ribbon is taped on the board. Almost looks like it's part of the board. Anyhoo, I was able to heat that up, remove and reuse the board, and tested it all out and it worked. Thank you for your videos. Very very helpful!

How long did it take you from start to finish. I think I will order the part then see what a cell phone repair shop will charge for labor to do the replacement with my providing the part . I'm poor and I dont have a credit card and can't purchase anything online. Plus I enjoy the process of learning electronic repair. With no budget, the first thing I try to do, is to see if I can repair it or modify it! if all else fails. I've saved hundreds on electrical repairs of the window control switches for my dgc when they've stopped working because the contacts were dirty. A bit of disassembly work. Cleaned the contacts reassembled and works like new! So could i try to "reball" the solder or crimp the connector casing, or something low cost, and where should I pry it to accomplish that? All i own is a 35 whatt soldering iron and a butane torch iron. I'm a video learner and text can confuse me, so if you have a video it would help me out! greatly appreciated! After watching this twice I wish you had taken some needle nose pliers and crimped the original port a little bit. That might have solved the issue. I think the ports get stretched out/loose when using the dual screen, because you have to bend the port to take the phone in and out of the case. Crimping it a little seems like a proper fix to tighten up the port once again
For all you know the used one you bought to replace it was also loose and the seller just crimped it and resold it

I started to wirelessly charge. Not a big deal. I've noticed if you press down hard on the charging cable against the port it starts to take a charge, so I'm guessing the inside of the port is a little warped or something
Of 4 LG v60 I bought used, 2 have bad ports. That's just terrible for a 1.5 year old phone.
No point spending money to fix them, since you can buy them used for $100 these days.

This happened to me recently, luckily I had and extra ribbon. You have to be careful when prying up lego connection for fingerprint sensor. You can easily break little diodes on top of+- speaker connection. Pop off fingerprint sensor from the bottom

I am through the disassembly part, but before moving on, I need help! I lost one of the screws & can't find them anywhere online, except for 600+ piece kits. Would someone please tell me where to order a couple of these screws, or at least the screw's specs?

You can probably get by with removing a screw from a spot that snaps in pretty good. Like the one off to the side of the battery. The ones up top need to keep contacts down

There are plenty on eBay for like $4 or $5 & shipped from the USA too. Stay away from China shipping if you don't want to wait a month to receive the item.

So i did this, my phone was working good prior to the replacement, only issue i had was i had to turn my speaker on and talk through the mic or else the mic wouldnt work over the earpiece.
I went ahead order this part the whole flexcable charging port, mic unit... replaced it. (ive been replacing stuff on andriods and iphones for personal use past 10 years)
and for some reason after i put everything together, the phone only vibrates, doesn't give me any display. I have tried the method of hard restarting it, volume up and power as well... all it does is vibrate in different patterns. i think the phone turns on but doesnt give me display at all. i opened up the phone like 3 times now to address this issue to see if anything is loose but nothing is loose. everything is good. ive checked it like 3 times now over and over doesnt work. even tried throwing the phone in the freezer, same result, only vibrates... any idea what could be going on with it?
