Yo! Stave, Glad to see you showing ( even timelapse) that it takes alil time cutting irons by hand w a hacksaw.... I know when I was a kid I'd get just as excited then as i do Now ... UNTIL, I started cutting steel w a hacksaw...and literally said " Oh Hell No...F this..takes too damn long!". I guess I just assumed it would be easy...Its Far From It. But, glad I got older cause I enjoy the hell outa this stuff. As w me back then, I think when new guys get to cutting steel by hand they all of a sudden dont have interest in it no more....its a shame Really... maybe just me being older, but this is awsome therapy w a dash of pride knowing the skill set doing woodwork. As this. Tell em to just SLOW The F DOWN....enjoy being creative and producing something this world doesnt see very much now days.... Hand Made Tools that will Out Last All of us and the unknown number of people who if even for a sec on a look only, will get great enjoyment from the tool or what it helped create

Dear Stavros, if you are struggling with a choice of music then my humble opinion is don’t bother. Just keep the microphone on in your workshop to capture your machining sounds. That’s all the sound you need (my opinion). The circular rasp you used in the drill press looks a fantastic tool. It could cut lots of material but keep a sharp edge for ages, unlike sand paper and bobbin head sanders. Where did you get it from and what is it called? The vertical pin you placed before the blade: what is it’s purpose? My guess is that it is a wear plate to reduce wear-out on the leading wood part of the planes. Thanks.

I noticed that you used a grub screw to retain the blade and wedge in the body of the plane. I have only made one wooden plane for reeding. I could not persuade the blade to stay put under load. When I looked at my other wooden planes it became apparent that the blades were tapered in thickness being thicker at the sharp end this means that the blade acts as a wedge itself and with the wedge acting in opposition the blade only tightens under load rather than slipping. I ground the blade to taper in thickness and made a new wedge. The blade no longer slipped. I hope that this is of some help.
Jack you have right, thank you for your comment. The blade i used wasn't tapered. I used this screws to save heads of the wedges. The bed angle was 55 degrees so the wedge should hold the blade very tightly. The wedges are very thin so propably they would been destroed very fast during adjusting with a hammer. This screws let me use less hammer work to hold the blade in place. I appreciate your attention :) regards!
At 9:55, to get the blade loose, don't hammer on the wooden wedge, hit the back of your plane. It works, try it. Then have a look at all your old planes of this style and you'll see the hammer marks from just that.

Данная конструкция шпунтубеля непозволяет использовать "перпендикулярный" упор как это есть у Dovetail Plane Stanley 444 ua-cam.com/video/9caf44FEtfM/v-deo.html (или "колхозить" такой упор как у автора этого видео :( Если и использовать такую конструкцию шпунтубеля, то только в качестве "доборника", к примеру, для ящичного соединения по типу "ласточкин хвост". По крайней мере будет дешевле чем покупать специальные стаместки для этих целей, и намного дешевле чем специальная (для тех же целей) шипорезка под фрезер.

Te strugi mogą pracować w poprzek włókien, wtedy przedni nóż nacina włókna drewna. Dzięki temu na krawędzi struganego wpustu nie ma żadnych wyrwań. Pozdrawiam!

Zrobiłem te strugi pod konkretny projekt więc na pewno będzie film z jego realizacji :) Widziałem ten film Klausz'a - genialny pomysł z uszczelnieniem połączenia! Btw nie wiem jak te moje strugi spisałyby się podczas pracy w poprzek słojów bo zaprojektowałem je tylko do strugania wzdłuż (ostrze prostopadle do korpusu). Muszę to sprawdzić :)
Masz rację, nacinacze odgrywają główną rolę przy struganiu w poprzek. Strugać na pewno będą ale obawiam się, że prostopadle ostrze zostawi nierówną, poszarpaną powierzchnie dna wpustu. Spróbuję dzisiaj :)
To o czym piszesz może zajść w tylko w 2 przypadkach: 1. za duże wysunięcie ostrza w stosunku do nacisku od góry, przez co może wystąpić przeskakiwanie. 2. stopa struga w części przed ostrzem jest wyżej od tej za nim - kołyska, może mieć 2 przyczyny, czyli zbyt mała sztywność korpusu, bądź brak wyrównania całej stopy.

mocowanie materiału to numer 2 dla mnie, a numerem jeden jest wosk lub olej na stopę struga.
A ja rzadko smaruję stopę :)

"nacinacze" w sumie nie wiem jak poprawnie po polsku to się nazywa (ang. nicker) mają Twoje strugi, więc nie powinno być kłopotu :)
