@@StavrosGakos- I speak English very badly, but I will try to have it translated by Google. First, I have a lot of fun watching your videos, everything seems so easy. I think it's from your manufacture and it would be interesting to see how you proceeded. Thank you again for sharing and my best wishes for this new year.

I am learning woodworking after retiring and thing your skills are truly amazing. I am so glad I found your channel, it's informative, relaxing and well made.
I make them mostly for myself, from time to time i selling few planes. I cut applewood in diagonal sections because boxing should have grain direction pararel to the bed. That makes it way more durable for friction. Thank you :)
What type of metal did you make your plane floats out of? What type of steel I should say. Amazing work as always. Inspired another plane maker. I build them in the traditional way without laminating but hope to be half as good as you someday.
Hello Stavros, I really appreciate your work. It has become an inspiration to continue my little workshop. I do not have a lot of tools, but I want to make my own. Would you help us to know how to make a simple or regular continental or horn style hand plane from zero?
Hey Jacob! Ithank you :) i'm not a fan of that kind of planes, but my buddy Łukasz showed how to make that horn. Here is the link ua-cam.com/video/aDaHvxpWeeI/v-deo.html Cheers!
@@StavrosGakos Thank you so much, I enjoyed the video a lot. Instead of the continental or horn style plane, Would you consider making an Infill-Norris-style hand plane, for those of us that cannot afford one? I have been a woodturner for many years, but now I want to start doing more square things, so I want to make my own tools for hand woodworking. Thank you for the inspiration you give to all of us! Happy New Year.
Well man, i have asked you a question a few hours ago. But i think i have decided now, after see this video. Im going to make sone of my tools, to become more "Stravos"
A few questions: why hide glue and not normal glue? Why is the box stronger when parallel to the bed? Could you make some day a tour of all the planes you've got and explain very briefly what they are used for? Thank you very much for your videos!
Hey Jonas, hide glue is traditional glue and allows to remove the whole boxing (after heating) to repair. Every end grain (or even mitre side) is more durable for friction and will keep the edge of the sole for long time, so the plane will work propertly. One day i'll make that kind of video. Regards!
13:29 The apple wood boxing set at the bedding angle is visually absolutely stunning. Does the forward angle of the boxing end grain cause any chip out of the boxing during usage of the plane? Is this a compromise made for looks verses operation? Can you provide any information on the slotting plane shown at 3:04? Where did you get that? Love your videos, glad you returned to making tools, hope you make many more.
Thanks Tim! The boxing is more durable for friction than the sole of the plane. That allows to keep the profile of the sole for very long time. I made that slotting plane, it was simple project :) Regards!
Thanks Nicolas! Yes, it is hand cranked bench drill. It is polish copy (CFN) of Ixion hand drill press. I have to restore it first but you will see it :) regards!

Dear Stavros, I see that when you cut your blade you smoothed the surfaces to make it look nice. I have a small hollowing plane that I did that to and the blade slipped back into the body after only a single stroke. I think that by polishing it made the surface too slippery to grip.
