- Expeditions: A MudRunner Game puts you in the shoes of an expert off-road driver that sets off to some of the most remote yet beautiful places in the world. Along the way, you’ll take on various missions that help you earn money, allowing you to upgrade your vehicles, buy new trucks, and maybe even build up some amenities in your home base. The core challenge, however, comes from the sheer difficulty in planning an off-road route.
What makes Expeditions: A MudRunner Game especially fun is the fact that, while there are several small things to pay attention to, like AWD and differential locks, and even just a fuel gauge, things never really get overwhelming. Instead, you’re encouraged to plan your routes out, and take just about everything you think you might need for a long drive, because if you get stuck in the middle of nowhere without any fuel, well, that’s your fault. - Ігри

Expeditions could be better if most missions were available from the start of each map, so you can do them in whatever order you want.
Even when you’re just playing the game it doesn't seem open enough, because you don't have the freedom to do whatever you want since all of the missions are locked. The missions you are able to do are just mostly linear it's just go to point a then to point b and so on.
In Snowrunner there were a lot of roads that were closed or blocked in someway and it was more job based that somethings had to be done first before doing something else and other things throughout the map.
In Expeditions it is supposed to be different or so that's what it was meant to be from the way the description for this game seemed.
You have a big open space where you make your own path being that there aren't any roads, so having most missions open from the beginning would have made a much better and more enjoyable experience.
Expeditions is okay and it can be fun, but the gameplay is mostly restrictive and Snowrunner does everything better. Hopefully Expeditions will improve and get better with time, and that's just my opinion.
I don't have it yet and it might be my next purchase when I get bored with helldivers 2 but it's good to know it's not as good as snow runners yet.
@@keldon_champion hit lvl 50 did everything on helldivers trying this game out cause i loved snowrunner but did everything in it a little while ago.
I uninstalled Expeditions last night, the controller layout with too many conflicts was irritating, the slow & janky garage menus, changing parts such as fitting rock crawler suspension removed the roof rack, fenders, spotlights, fuel cans, spares, off road gearbox, radar & change to a different mud tire, everything but the off road gearbox i had to buy again, no refund for parts removed & it's happened more than once
The winch wouldn't always work, game constantly freezes, half completed missions have to be started again if return to homebase. The 'search the area is tedious, can spend 15 to 20 minutes finding 97% of a wooded area then an hour & half trying to find the 3% (YAWN). Got the radar then had to drive to the same area across two maps with different trucks complete the tedium.
Avalanches don't always clear & still have to be driven (not winched) over, some of the games physics are arse backwards
Much of the driving is enjoyable (i'm a very experienced RL off road driver & have driven most of the ex Soviet trucks in SR), it's just the nasty controller set up, the janky garage, the messed up physics & the tedious linear hand holding gameplay
It took over 2 years before i took a break from both MR & SR, Expeditions took me a little over 2 weeks
I love how this game shows expeditions/missions to accomplish so simply. I couldn’t play mudrunner much because never understood where to go or what to do.
PSA for Playstation 5 owners - there is a repeatable bug in the game (experienced by myself and by others on the socials) that causes a complete system crash when using the drone which is needed for some missions. Hopefully that will get fixed
I crashed on PC twice using drone, wonder if that's it.
@@Darth0308 That's interesting, it quite possibly be linked. Are you able to replicate the crash, by flying the drone in the same area?
@SighManP I'll have to see if I can do it again. Pretty much crashed, reloaded and moved on.
@@Darth0308 Many thanks, that would be most appreciated. Currently Focus are putting me onto Playstation support - wild goose chase - and if we can prove that the issue is on PC as well, then it puts the onus firmly back onto Focus
Good game. I like where it's going. The scouting missions are fun and the maps are well done. I really don't like the menus and menu navigation. The inventory in your trucks is pretty weirdly managed, switching to other trucks is garbage, the outposts you start from in a mission is managed terribly. And trying to find ways to unlock new trucks or upgrades is often very unclear. I've restarted several missions just because the objective and exactly what I needed was unclear in the mission briefing.
Imagine this kind of physics in GTA6 🤤

GTA4 still has the best physics of any game in the GTA franchise. Pain in the ring to get used to in the beginning, but enjoyable as hell as you drift all over the place!

a lot of potential, but imo, feels like it was rushed. not enough trucks in the game, objectives sometimes are all over the map, making it near impossible, resulting in loss of fuel. getting recalled should not restart mission progress, makes zero sense to do that. getting stuck on a rotten log, or a rock smaller than a pineapple is frustrating at times. however, i do enjoy the game, as its relaxing slower pace is a welcome change from sweaty racing games like nfs, and motorfest. also, some weather effects would be a welcome change. hopefully sabre will not just abandon this game, and it improves.
This is a stripped down Snowrunner in my book.
Wonder why people think that. It’s an upgraded snow runner both in physics and detail. Different enough to let people an actually choice/variation instead of a lousy attempt of just another snowrunner part 2. just started snowrunner myself and of course it benefits form 4 years of content which makes it an unfair comparison. Besides that, I already see the improvements in expeditions. It’s just different directions. Snowrunner means big heavy trucks transporting goods in broken but civilized maps over streets and a few off road situations. Expeditions gets rid of the predefined paths and forces you to go fully „do as you please“. I feel like both games can fully complement each other!

Does this game support wheel and shifter?
There is wheel support. However most of the comments I've been reading have stated that the wheel support needs updating - much like a lot of reviews are saying about the game as a whole. I'll be waiting out on purchasing this game until multiplayer is released.
The wheel is nice and I’d recommend a mouse and keyboard to help navigate the map and menus
My copy is going on ebay. Just couldn't get into it. It was boring and stripped down compared to SnowRunner. Gonna pick up MudRunner American Wilds instead on sale on the eshop for $7.49. Seems like more bang for the buck.

Holla back at me in a year when the ad more and fix more, till then its snowrunner for me. Snow runner is the only game i have played in the past 2 years, so im excited for a new one but im gonna give it some time to really beef the game up. More trucks, maps, and small fixes

@@beefcheekz3845 bc I only play for maybe an hour each day when I get home from work, and thats if i play it. Most the time its shower, food, then bed. Plus they add 4 new maps a year.

I bought the supreme edition, played it for an hour then refunded it. It really isn't worth the current asking price.

I really do not understand why these devs are so stubborn to not implement Adaptive Triggers on PC. This unique game genre is like a glove for a force feedback when pressing the trigger to drive the vehicle. I could understand not having the resources to implement it on their previous games but why did they only implement it for PS5 version and not PC is beyond my understanding.

Why does it feel like you are just reading release notes. This is not a cargo hauling game at all.
Either there are only two vehicles in this game or you guys played one hour of gameplay and then made a review. I can’t trust this review.

Tell me about it it…I bought this game thinking it was gonna be great and it’s straight up trash…I did not enjoy it at all…snowrunner is way better…I will be trading mudrunner in today…
Overall dissapointing for me. 80% recycling from Snowrunner. Physics still feel off compared to Spintires and Mudrunner. No feel of weight. Barely any graphical improvements. Textures suddenly change in quality under your truck. And now we will get lazy copy-paste DLCs for years.

Terrible game ! After playing for a hour its so dead and empty. You never really know what youre doing and the cars and trucks are so limited. Also you can somehow get over huge rocks but one little rock and one little stick you need to winch over.
