I think a 4:27 of that day would probably out do that 429. Just reading the horsepower of the engines of their era.. pretty much can't beat a 427 solid lifter engine from the time it came out in 63 Intel Ford stop making them and probably 67.. they started D tuning engines for emissions about 1968... And they just never did what the earlier motors would do.....😮... Now I'm talking from the way they came out of the factory.. you can pretty much build a motor to do what you want to do if you have tons of money
that is one mean Fairlane 500. My parents had a 66 galaxy 500 in green. i don't know what engine it had. I didn't know it was considered a muscle car. I was just a little kid , & the car was just the family car, as far as I knew back then. I just knew that coming home from elementary school I could see the Galaxy 500 was home .
You don't have the tach set up correctly. You barely blipped the throttle and it went to almost 5000. Open it up and turn the switch to 8 cyl not 4 cyl. Great looking car. Could stand to be raised up 1, 2, 3".
@@terryguhr9707 stats/facts too difficult for you to comprehend, PUTZ? I've got three Ford Fairlanes. Two are '66 and 460 powered and the other is a '67 427 XL/GT built in-house by TASCA Ford that I bought new. WTF have you got, PUTZ?
The Ford teardrop heat extractor is definitely an acquired taste item. It does nothing to bring air into the engine, but does a fantastic job of drawing hot air out of the engine bay. Paired with a proper cold air intake system like on the '64 Thunderbolts, it really made a difference. Sometimes Ugly Betty looks can be beautiful works of engineering 👍🏼
"Faster than a toupee in a Hurricane" LOL, never heard that one before! Nice ride!
Only if was a boss nine otherwise 428 or even better a side oiler butt still a beautiful ride
Hey nice job bro

Nice combination.
Awesome!!
Personally I like the original flat hood.
Everyone has their own likes
Novas with big blocks all day long, but how often do you see one of these?
I wonder what year the engine is.

Thanks for the sub!

Too bad it's not a BOSS 429😢
Yeah, those $100k cars are nice!
Nice car...BUT...its not powerful..it couldnt break the tires loose when he hit it..
Yeah, it's only got 550 or 600 horsepower. Did you know that "breaking the tires loose" is not a good thing? Fast cars HOOK and GO.
terry guhr, likely better than anything that you've got.
@@sergeantmasson3669 sure thing toughguy! Lol

Hood scoop ruin the look. Get one off a 69 or 70 Mustang and make this car look great.
