    Great video to explain all the differences. Why on earth have some phone network providers gone for different Mini SIM cards? It just seem to be more confusing to me! Anyway, I liked the video explanation - thank you.

    Thanks. I have 3 different phones and they all take different size sim cards. Tow phones are dual sim cards, and take two different types. I was getting confused. Wondered why only one sim worked. I just found out you can get adaptors, or order new sims as well. Why on earth do they have to make things complicated though. They should just stick to one size sim card for all phones.

      I agree. You can get a multi-sim now that presses out and you can re-insert to achieve the different sizes.

    I have question on SIM cutter with 3 slots. If I have understood well your video, on 3 slots SIM cutter, the 2 slots are from standard to micro (it depends what micro you need as you say in you video), and the third slot is for micro to nano. No matter what micro you have converted, both micro may be used in third slot. Am I right? Thank you!

    i restored all data and settings so it's came on like a new phone and i took out the sim card. without this sim card is there any other way of unlocking the phone without the sim card? also if another sim card goes in, will it be a different number instead of the other number?

    can you please compare thickness, because i have heard that the nanos are thinner than the minis and the micros. so if this is real that means we cant put the nano we cut in the iphone 5 ???

    I have the iPhone 5 and sadly I can no longer swap the sim back and forth like I did with my micro sim from my iPhone 4. I use to be able to swap between my Galaxy Nexus(via adapter) and iPhone. Now when I use the the nano sim from my Iphone 5 into my GNEX all I get is voice no data. I've tried APN settings but still no data. I'm on AT&T any feedback would be greatly appreciated

  • @MrTechCenter

    Isn't the nano sim also thinner than the micro sim? How could you possibly cut that down? You'd have to sand it down, but with that you run several risks.

  • @supertecnoboff
    @supertecnoboff 12 років тому

    No thats not the case. Networks like O2, Three, Orange, etc.... will send you a new sim with a simple set of instructions. This will transfer your current number to your new sim and deactivate your old sim card.

    Tried cutting my ancient large sim card to nano, but it didn't work in my new phone. Luckily it wasn't completely ruined, and still works in my old phone, phew! From the wear pattern on the sim card contacts I can see that the bottom row isn't used at all, and that's what needed to be cut off to make it nano size.

    Ridiculous, every new phone they pop out has a new SIM card. Apple needs to get with the program. The advantages of one universally sized SIM card far outweigh the tiny amount of space you save by using a smaller SIM card. I could understand cutting down to the micro size but nano? Really unnecessary and ridiculous. It's as if Apple is trying to make it hard to switch from an iPhone to another phone. Here's an idea, stop crippling features with every software release and maybe people will stick with your phones without you forcing them to by using proprietary SIMs.

    I don't think that cutting a micro will work, nanos are thinner, so a micro, even if cut, won't enter the slot due to height
