She's like an innocent, little fawn. The long gown, bare feet, and knees drawn up to her chin. So relaxed, earthy and exquisitely unique! I could sit, mesmerised for weeks, listening to her speak. Such a beautiful woman. We will all miss you dearly, sweet Angel. You made a huge contribution to the world. 😔❤️😔
I had to see this to believe it. One of the best moments of television history without question. Holy Christ. Cavett is rarely out of his league and Margot just came in like a wrecking ball. Holy cats. And goes right into the story about ice cubes without any filter at all. And then the camera kinda swings around and I realize she's sitting next to JaNIS JOPlin the whole dang time. The boom mic doesn't know which way to go!
Makes me sad thinking of the struggles she went through in life. She was a nice person who tried to help other people who were struggling like she had.
Ha, ha, Jesse G., we were all adorable back then. That I have found from personal experience. It isn't just one's appearance that takes a hit, one's health can, too. (They never TELL you THAT after you've popped out of someone's womb!) kris k.
Margot Kidder is an exceptional beauty and I hope that she is well from whatever troubles she has had. Loved her in the Brian DePalma movie, Sisters! Amazing to hear such unedited and candid talk. This looked like a really great show to have caught back when it aired. I'd like to arrange a playlist of the segments of this show in order to see it complete. Any help would be great and thank you for sharing this!
@nexusutube Well she did act for the CBC as a teenager for television playing a murderess in episode of "Moose Fever" aired March 1967. her birthdate is October 17, 1948. So I would say she has other credits to her name not listed before 1968 on IMDB.
Last night, I watched a film on UA-cam called "Someone Watching Me" which was not a bad film. Margot Kidder had a very small part in the film which was a shame as she was hilarious, her comic timing was spot on. Sad to hear she had so many struggles during her life. She was a very good actress
is it just me or odd that she basicly disregarded that gloria and janis were there? and janis gave the cam/audience a look of who cares..and gloria seemed prepared to shake hands say hi.. then realized she wasnt and gave dirty look..? amazing sexy ladys in there own way...
@@CusterFlux yeah as you can see, Joplin kind of dismisses her in the beginning but once she gets talking, you can see that Janis is warming up to her.
Margot Kidder was lying about her age. Her 1st tv roles were in 68 and she was 20. I can understand a 30 something woman wanting people to think she is late 20s but why would a 22 year old want people to think shes 18.
nexusutube, The Hollywood film industry was built that way back then, your management, as was the case with Michael Jackson, when he was 11 years old, Berry Gordy said that he was 9 years old. Marilyn Monroe real name was Norma Jean Mortenson. Hollywood built, trained, and guided them in the direction they wanted them to go in.
Didn’t Margot feel a bit out of her league with not only Gloria Swanson but also Janis Joplin….and I thought it so WEIRD she never said hi or anything to either one…..just felt off……
Garyb3397 She certainly may have toked a bit beforehand, but she always had a laid-back style. That is more her personality and less about being under the influence. ;-)
Michael Barnhart Really? Look at Bette Davis' and K. Hepburn's interviews. They were on NOTHING (except maybe coffee) and gave far more I N T E R E S T I N G replies. Kidder is a forgotten moron.
Bi-polar, and I thought she was really funny and interesting. I loved her here. I hope Margot Kidder RIP. She wore the same kind of glasses when she was older! Condolences to her family and friends.
Her f**kin eyes back then would melt iron, OMG gorgeous.
Margot Kidder was SO gorgeous! Rest In Peace !
Such simple beauty! RIP dear lady!
RIP Margot--an exquisite, effervescent, intelligent, and talented woman.
I'm a one man band on youtube. Hope you can enjoy one of my songs.
RIP sweet Margot. You were one of a kind and will never be forgotten.

@The mysterious Miss X
Why is it 'much better?'
She's so happy and wholesome looking here. R.I.P.
Young more than anything
Whoa, margot, janis and gloria ❤️❤️❤️
Margot Kidder Rest In Peace (1948-2018)
Rest In Peace sweet lady
she was adorable back then
Now she's very hideous.
Well she is old now

@@tatumkidder7802 no she is dead.
I wish I had the time to watch every episode of this show.
She makes my heart melt
IS THAT MARGOT KIDDER.!!.HOLY SPIRIT OF MARY!! 🤯🤯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯😍😍😍😍😍
RIP Margot Kidder. Lois Lane from Superman & Sandy Olson from Grease we're my first 2 crushes when I was 5 in 1980
She was great. God bless her soul
RIP Margot :(
I love her so much. My favorite actress. I'd love to meet her.
Rest in Peace
So young and naive It’s unbelievable that she’s gone but one day we all shall be That is inevitable rip

on this video here beauty on superman movies she looks so ... arghhh no
What the heck are you talking about? Are you leaving in a cave or what? She is being dead for centuries!!! 😂😂😂🤦🤦
@@nd-rt7dl She died in 2018. The OP posted this in 2011. Might want to get your facts straight before having an outburst xx
@@fipsassmussen1046 first Superman she looked good. She was like Carrie Fisher drug use got them bad looking as they aged.
wow, I love Margot Kidder, she was such a hottie. and what a crazy show that must've been, haha.
Margot Kidder was not wearing shoes for no reason because she was walking in bare feet on The Dick Cavett Show on August 3rd, 1970.
her glasses are so cute 💕
Margot is so cute, but man, those glasses! There was not limit to how huge those lenses got back then. Scary
This is heaven
I didn't expect Janis Joplin! Sweet.
Dick seems to have interviewed everyone that became iconic and famous. Maybe he had a genius intuition.
Janis Joplin died just 2 months after this show
Margot seems so sweet, full of an innocent way of being sexy. I adore her.
She didn't even acknowledge Janis.
Canadian legend
Yo her eyes is everything bro
I turned down a drink with Margot in 1988 :/ Dumbest thing I ever did.
Interesting...how did you find yourself in such a position?
Yea Medic, what’s the story behind that?
She looked more beautiful ten years later.

R.I.P margot❤
R. I. P janis❤

Awe, cavett is blushing.,
Wow - what a crew! Where's the REST?
Lois Lane, where are your shoes!
Way too funny!
How beautiful was Margot was in this. Presume this was after black Xmas and before superman.
Whoah look at those Specs! I guess anything went in 1970
Sadly, the only one on that stage who's still alive is Cavett. RIP, Gloria, Janis and Margot! ❤❤❤
@jthomas666: How considerate. Ever heard of bipolar disorder? She ain't the only one.
To think, in two months, Janis would be gone forever.
When tans were real..
OMG…He’s the Conan prototype.
Haha
Cute. She is high as a kite
When she was young she used to look just like the girl at my college who I have feelings for.
is it just me or odd that she basicly disregarded that gloria and janis were there?

arlichar11 dude, she's high
I wonder why Margot Kidder and Janis Joplin didn't acknowledge each other .
Janis was probably in love … Kidder & Joplin were a lot more alike than they looked, sadly for Janis, the sexual preference didn't line up.
@@CusterFlux yeah as you can see, Joplin kind of dismisses her in the beginning but once she gets talking, you can see that Janis is warming up to her.
She definitely had that Midge Maisel-ness to her.
wow! youtube gives!
Well 2 fisted pixie or not he outlived everyone on stage he's 87 and still kicking
She was sane here
Oh shit . Janis too !
Why does she resembles robin Tunney so much or is it the other way around
Probably because both of them are French & Irish Canadian.
And Karen Allen from Indiana Jones.
So sad her mental illness became fodder for punch lines and laughter. I always liked her.
true
8:06 Janice Joplin was sleeping it looks like 😂🤣
Man .....Gloria Swanson was a hoot.
Janice was jonesing
She wore glasses? So how come not later on in superman movies?
I'm you. I adore u so much
Voice sounds like Emmylou Harris
Yong girl
Poor Janis had to sit threw that mess.
She’d be dead in 2 months who really was the mess
I would think that an actress would be aware that her feet were reading as filthy on the camera.
Why didn't Gloria show up barefooted?
I never thought she was that much of a beauty IMO and a bad choice for Lois Lane.
Janis would be dead only a few months later.
You can kinda see here the roots of those mental disorders she had later in life, don't you think?
Margot Kidder was lying about her age. Her 1st tv roles were in 68 and she was 20. I can understand a 30 something woman wanting people to think she is late 20s but why would a 22 year old want people to think shes 18.

Her face completely changed due to drugs
Janice Joplin, Margot Kidder, Gloria Swanson?
The closest thing to this guy is Conan...or is it just me???
Wot year is this
who are the other two ladies in this video?
Janis joplin and Gloria Swanson
Lol lol lol ... they said fisted
She is just trying to hide her low, revealing outfit when she raised her legs onto the sofa.
Wat yr is this shes the only lois lane😊
Good grief, what a trio! And WHAT, exactly, is Kidder ON???
Garyb3397 She certainly may have toked a bit beforehand, but she always had a laid-back style. That is more her personality and less about being under the influence. ;-)

NOT what Joplin's on!
Nice feet.
the fuuny thing is i'd do gloria swonson over janis joplin, janis was really gross.
Janis looked bored.
Youth is beauty. She had no lasting power though. Downhill from late 20s.
Not really just the Hollywood machine jusy chewing and spitting out another young emotionally vulnerable woman
I don’t think that’s the reason why she aged poorly. She aged poorly because she had an extremely unhealthy lifestyle as well as health problems
was this the one who went seriously nuts??
Great teeth, awful glasses
Yo I'm sorry son but them glasses need to go in the garbage
She lost those teeth later in life.
Margot Kidder rocking those bare feet.
