Harvest season is always an exciting time! Watching you combine those peas is truly satisfying. Thanks tyson for sharing your farming journey with us.🚜
we finished early this year 2500 ac of barley all in the bin, and bags now we bought the standing barley crop of a 93 year old farmer who can not do it anymore but he still planted, sprayed 600 ac of barley. down our same road only 15 miles straight south. all the cattle farmers are getting a 2nd cutting of hay, something rare for central alberta but its also harvest time and they are behind.
Good afternoon Tyson. 🍻👍. I grew meadow. They got really tall, but didn’t lodge on me. Ran 60 bushel which for this year was phenomenal, but they were on my best black land. The straw ran over 3 bales an acre. The elk destroyed some swaths on me so they cost me quite a bit of yield on 7 acres out of the 60 acres.
Tyson they are combining in Whitecourt area. Like you they r ducking rain storms. They have the winter wheat combined and started spring wheat yesterday.
Tyson, once again, another great video I think you might be surprised how many peas it takes to make 5 bushels loss. I only wonder if you had hail insurance kind of rough on a small acre. But holy cow is it ever green out there for the fall?
They aren't hard to grow...they grow to good sometimes and lay flat which makes them a bitch to harvest...these are a new variety I'm trying...so far I like them

That's what happens when you get 4 inches of rain at the end of August with 28 degrees and humid
You didn't film your harvest this year?
Yes
What was the name and location of the elevator you bring most of your grain?
Falher
Are peas hard to grow? Sounds like they like their pesticide and fungicide.
