way too many spelling and grammar errors in the transcription. The editor is a dope.
King George III, whom Jefferson criticized unscathingly in the Declaration of independence, had a son William IV. He eventually came to love the Americans. After he became king, he told the American ambassador he regretted not being "born a free, independent American, so much did he respect that nation, which had given birth to George Washington, the greatest man that ever lived." When William died, Victoria became queen.
Um the hessians being drunk was a myth, they were actually very good soilders the myth came from the americans
Weird artwork...in fact, this whole thing is a bit ... strange.
Sorry about that.
Im just here cause of Shane Gillis 😂
Not a brilliant General but he knew better than to ever face British regulars in pitched battle.
Surprise attacking a bunch of drunk German mercenaries, under difficult weather conditions, was a good calculated move.
The British always found the colonies too expensive to defend or control by military means and were at war with France everywhere all the time. They had neither the resources or will to continue. After all the Americans were British countrymen really.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! Washington definitely used strategy to his advantage, especially in challenging situations like Trenton. It’s true the broader geopolitical situation, including Britain’s conflicts with France, played a role in the eventual American victory. The combination of Washington's tactics and these larger pressures created a turning point in the Revolution. Appreciate your insight!
Maybe not a brilliant General, but a brilliant leader. The way he rallied his troops to cross the raging river in the freezing night cold and THEN march 9 miles in wet clothes and bitterly freezing weather is a testament to his amazing leadership that few in history can match. And then of course they went on to defeat the British regulars at Princeton a few days later.
yeah sure whatever, interesting how the Brits kept trying for six years to do exactly that and FAILED. Your claim they had no will or resources is ridiculous.
Gee the way Google and UA-cam telling Washington should be black lol
