札幌と帯広を結ぶ『スーパーとかち』は、キハ261系とキハ283系で運転される特急。
キハ283系は同じ区間を走る『スーパーおおぞら』と同じく振子式気動車だが、映像は空気バネを用いた車体傾斜装置と高出力エンジンを搭載したキハ261系1000番台を用いる列車で、貫通ドア窓から撮影（よって運転士の喚呼は無し）。
映像は石勝線。追分駅を発車し新夕張駅までの前面展望を紹介。非電化区間ならではのすっきりした空、一直線にのびる雪の線路を高速で東に進み夕張川を渡る。
かつて石炭を輸送した夕張線は、現在、札幌と道東を結ぶバイパスルートの一部となっているのだ。途中、高速で通過する駅や信号場も興味深い。JR北海道の特急らしい前面展望映像。
2007年11月末の撮影のため、今ではもう見られない特急とかち（キハ183系）とのすれ違いは貴重。
Super Express Tokachi: Oiwake to Shin-Yubari[Train View -- Front Row Views #01]

The train is Hokkaido's Super Express Tokachi.
You can see uncut footage of the scenery from the moment the train leaves Oiwake station until it arrives at its' destination of Shin-Yubari station.
See the snow covered landscapes of Hokkaido while travelling at a speed of 130km/h.
The train route is not electric so the Super Express Tokachi is powered by a diesel car that features the latest technology which allows operating this train at high speeds.
