So much so that after early 2,000's I basically stopped going to shows unless they were within 2 hours of me. But here lately Ive been getting off pretty good, at least since 2015 on. The Remain In Light Halloween costume really influenced their direction like no other Halloween show has. Imho of course, Im sure quite a few people feel completely different lol.✌

Thank you for this!! I first saw Phish at the Gorge In 98'. I never knew what hit me (the boomers didn't hurt either). They were much less scripted in these days. The funk jams were undeniable and absolute! That Moma Dance totally crushed us! I will always love this band ❤

And sure theres some sex going on when were talking 3.O Some jams here and there to remember, nothing like the 90's...Thankfully things kinda changed come 2013 (in my opinion). besides that girth they brought sound-wise, Their lineups, being silly basically having a blast with each other onstage ect., seem to help bring back there connection and sycronisity as musicians. keeping me coming back for more

It's like back in 2002 when all of that Napster stuff was going on, and Tech N9ne released his album Absolute Power for free download. His album sales tripled.
I agree. The band or record company already gets 100% revenue for any ads they add to videos (I don't monetize any videos). I was given the option to either permanently remove the whole video from UA-cam, or to trim out the copyrighted clips 🤷♂️. Funny thing is that making this compilation was what got some friends of mine into phish, and they asked me to upload it here so they could introduce some other friends

People are going to look back on '97 as one of the peak years, the equivalent of say '73 or '77 for the Dead. I was lucky, saw most of my shows between '93 and '00, toured a fair bit 95-97, and my last show was Shoreline '00 - literally the last show of Phish1.0. Lost interest and didn't think they were playing all that well in 2.0, rekindled my interest around 2015. '95, '94 and '98 are standouts in their own way, but I think '97 is the pinnacle
Phish is playing great right now but nowhere near the 97 Phunk...I don’t think they play enough together anymore to ever reach that peak again...4 and 5 song sets where they are so tightly dialed into what they’re doing. If you haven’t listened to 11/17/97 try the just jams version. It’s my favorite show they’ve ever played.

Of coarse. But that doesn't discount how well they're playing together rn. Just very different stylistically. I believe 3.0 will bring back the phunk and you will see them hit some amazing peaks.

They’ve played some amazing shows the last 5 years or so I just don’t think they are ever going to hit these highest notes from the 97 cow phunk era. They just don’t play enough shows, play together enough anymore to have that near perfect unspoken musical language between them?
