I learned these great old tunes in the East End pubs. The old timers knew all the words and sang along with the piano. No matter where you are in the world, you can't keep a good tune down!
Will you guy's be at Gettysburg this summer? I live in Philly now but my hearts still back with the old folks at home in Florida. I just wanna say what you guy's do is so important. Keep our common heritage alive. North and South

Used to sing this when I was a kid at the family Reunions in East Texas. The jaw bone was played by my Grand Uncle. Brought back some fond memories. Thank you.
Another brilliant song played so well. My mother sang a lot of the songs that you perform so wonderfully, including this one. They bring back lots of childhood memories and I'm rediscovering them again with your recordings. Thank you so much for your beautiful music - these songs are also history lessons that bring the past back to life so very vividly, and that (along with their musical brilliance) is why my mother loved them.
I'm glad you guys are uploading these videos now it brings back wonderful memories of the 150th! Can't wait to see you all again at another reenactment

Well, we could, but we're gettin' kind of... old. If someone in Europe could put together a tour in the next year or so (and figure a way to pay our expenses), we might be able to pull it off. Otherwise... probably not.

what is that amazing percussion instrument???
It is a jawbone of a horse... or maybe a cow. Cool, no ? Literally 1000's of years old (not that particular one, of course...).

Playing the “bones”. Traditionally used rib bones for “clackers” as well.
