Thank you for this old time beautiful hymn. As I listen to it from my hospital bed with a crucifix on the wall in front of my bed. I know Jesus is a living God and takes care of each of us, who call him " Abba father ". It bring a tear of joy cause we have Jesus on side in every situation of this life.

This song was first performed and composed by Art Garfunkel, from Simon & Garfunkel. I just love how God can speak to anyone, no matter what their musical background.
brandon Davidson you're mistaken. The music was originally from an old Scottish tune. The lyrics were added by Eleanor Farjeon to the song in the 1930s and the song was popularized by Cat Stevens in the '70s. Later on Art Garfunkel and Diana Krall made a cover of this hugely popular song.
