Yeah, I think I agree, Rocky Helmet on Druddigion is funny at all, but that just further discourages attacking it. Quick comment about Volkner: while it’s rare that this would come into play, energy can also enter the discard zone by ending your turn or attacking without attaching energy beforehand. Could lead to fringe turtle plays in specific scenarios depending on Electrivire/Luxray’s text.
The biggest thing that sets Weavile EX apart from Bruxish as a standalone (aside from more numbers for less energy cost) is that your opponent cannot play one potion and set the pokemon back to full health, so in general circumstances they are forced to retreat to a full health pokemon or take the 70 that comes afterwards. Of course Erica exists but thats limited to grass, and double pot or blue + pot is less likely to happen.
Another thing to note about Manaphy, there is no restriction on the pokemon being water type so something like a Tauros thaat just wants colorless can be built up by manaphy as well
@@Kurobeau True except they want dual energy types and manaphy can't add water energy if its the other type sitting in the "reserve", essentially making manaphy useless. think manaphy needs to be run in water-only energy decks

Still need to see Electivire and Luxray, but i have a sneaking suspicion they may have discard energy effects built into their attacks, like magnezone. This could mean Volkner would be able to quickly reload them, no KO needed for him to work.
Magnezone is gonna be great for my as-many-energy-colors as possible deck! (energies are water, fighting and fire, using druddigon and marshadow. Also have grass energies with mythical island exeggcute and exeggutor ex, and electric using magneton)
Volkner’s card is the only one that puzzles me because why would we pull energy from the discard pile when are no energy there in the first place? Shouldn’t it say “take energy from your Energy Zone” instead?
when pkmn are knocked out with energy on them the energy goes to discard. also when you discard energy to retreat of for attack cost it also goes to discard. someone else mentioned that volkner's mons may discard energy to attach, so maybe volkner helps reload them.
@ that’s really weird since you can’t see discarded energy at all, you just have to remember if you discarded any? Really weird than they didn’t just make this like Brock’s trainer card.
I think Cress might have a more interesting role than Lapras EX. If we think of it as an early game frontline body (a la mewtwo, snorlax, drudd, exegg to an extent) that we can heal up on the bench and eventually strike back for 80 later, it could have a niche in the game. Where Lapras has to be active and attacking to heal, Cress heals while stacking up for its attack, or on the bench. Retreating it out could be considered a payoff for stacking energy, but it also only costs 2, so its in Leaf range. Speculative as I've only just seen the card and not considered break points (damage or energy), combos with gard, etc. but thought I'd just mention it. Also might be good when you put a rock helmet on its head.
Gabite itself looks not too shabby either if you go second and happen to alternate energies. It's a condition but not a too low one and then it's like MI Primeape levels but better and then you can still evolve again
7:00 im a little confused as to why weavile would be weak to grass... is that normal for tcg weaviles? i know from the digital games that weavile has a 4x weakness to fighting while being damaged normally by grass moves so i just find it a bit odd

Thats true, kabutops gonna be 160, cant be one shot by gyarados or mewtwo, with 70 damage right? whats kabutops weakness again? Is it grass or psychic mewtwo can still one shot
13:55 I'm very confused by Volkner's wording. What does it mean "energy from your discard pile?" Does it require a pokemon with energy on it to be knocked out before the card can be played? These tools are too OP. The giant Cape is just a better version of Blue, while also being able to play an other supporter that turn. Questionale. I hoped for limitations, like for example the tool can only be attached to a below 100HP Pokemon.
My 2 cents: Togetic and porygon 2 should have had 100 hp, 80 to make going first an advantage is pretty low hp to make up. Gabaite should have been 1 energy attack t9 let you better curve in ti garchop to make up for the weakness of a dual color stage 2 Porygon Z attack should cost 2 energy to be good. Weavile EX seems nice, I like it, don'tget the grass weakness tho, why??? Gallade, for beeing a stage 2, seems decent. Manaphy seems great, but with the very low hp how much is viable will depend on how common druddigon is. Cyrus seems GREAT, especially paired with anything that ca damage the bench. Giant cape makes BLU obsolete, and it was already a playable card.
togekiss never loses thay buff. every future overdrive smash would get boosted by the previous overdrive smash. 2 energy for 120 is insane if it doesnt need to switch out. its gonna make sabrina and cyrus effects much more integral to decks imo

It's crazy, I expected it to be Magikarp levels or like that Cleffa baby card that doesn't even do damage
Anyone else considering making their Moltres wear a helmet? Would help Arcanine take down more stuff when he comes online.
Video is at perfect speed if sped up to 1.2x guys
Everything seemed fine until vulkner, energy doesn’t get discarded into our discard pile. I’m not sure how accurate everything else is, but if a majority of these cards are real I’m excited to see them.
Togekiss is scary
Im thinking manaphy into vaporeon to dump energies collectively into a palkia with misty to troll
Would love to see the new weavile in a deck like the old bruxish weezing greninja deck
Fighting duo Lucario staples are gonna be meta now 😁
E-lec-ti-VI-ER and Cress-el-li-ah
These tools are too OP. The giant Cape is just a better version of Blue, while also being able to play an other supporter that turn. Questionale. I hoped for limitations, like for example the tool can only be attached to a below 100HP Pokemon.
Cape should be 10 hp and blue should be 20 hp, it doesn't make sense that it's the opposite
13:02 I'd SWEAR that mis-pronunciation was on purpose
With Lucario's ability, Gallade EX, can hit for 110 without the opponens active pokemon having any energy attached.
Garchomp looks big if true, playable on Greninja + Fighting tooldeck could be nice.
You know what else is big?
My 2 cents:
Togetic and porygon 2 should have had 100 hp, 80 to make going first an advantage is pretty low hp to make up.
Gabaite should have been 1 energy attack t9 let you better curve in ti garchop to make up for the weakness of a dual color stage 2
Porygon Z attack should cost 2 energy to be good.
Im gonna start every match with rocky helmet Farferch'd
These cards look really neat
gren plus cyrus I think has some nice synergy
Sure Gallade might have a bad Matchup against a Mewtwo but dont forget Lucario can make it swing at a base 90 before adding more damage per energy cost.
Still sounds worse than Machamp a lot of the time who isn't even good.
@HooglandiaPocket true I appreciate the response!
Cresselia with rocky helmet doesn’t sound too terrible
Manaphy + Palkia + Articuno T14 decks incoming😅
Do you think we can attach multiple tools to pokemon?
The fine print in the bottom right of the tool cards says you can't stack them. This coincides with the physical TCG rules as well.
@wishfulwaffle4801 Ah I didn't see that. Thanks!
@@GameMe44 no worries!
