I love you Gretchen :D You've caused so much positive change in my life. Love your approach. I'm a questioner-rebel and I hope I find the way that works for me! I've been trying to build good habits for a long time, but because of my energy levels, the rebel inside usually wins most days D: But I'm not giving up :D So excited for your next book, can't wait 'till it's on the shelves here in the Philippines :)

There aren't less rebels. They just aren't going to raise their hands because you asked them to.

Oh, I am a questioner all the way. Her example about stretching the deadline is something I used to do to my editor all the time when I was a journalist. I would ask her how many pages we had left to fill and then say, "You don't need this story, you're not going to have space anyway and I won't get paid for it." Or tell her that her false deadline she put out there to motivate people was just that, false. I drove this woman nuts, but I guess the trade off was as a questioner, I had well developed stories to turn in.

How can i help my rebel husband get motivated to quit smoking? He says he wants to and needs to. He quit for a few days and went back to smoking full blast.

These groups of people are interesting but unfortunately the conclusion seem ms antidotal. The concept also reinforces a fixed mindset. Having an agile or growth mindset is very important.
