Superb video! Flash power with a leaf shutter was one of the reasons I picked a Leica Q2 for my EDC.
Thank you
Glad you find it useful!
Interesting. I "overpower the sun" with a focal plane shutter. I shoot dragonflies in flight, freezeing the wing movement, and getting the whole dragonfly in focus. For that I need 1/4000 second and f/8. Except in exceptional conditions (highly reflective pond surface), the sun will not do that at ISO 800 (the highest I am willing to go). And I want to do that at a high frame rate. So I use a Nikon SB-910 (plus battery pack to keep the recycle time fast), and a flash extender. I get away with this because my focus distance is only 4 metres.
Interesting, shooting dragonflies. With a small subject you can really concentrate the flash in small area. Similarly if it’s just a head shot for portrait, one can overpower the sun by going real close.
What an interesting topic you discuss! No one else is really discussing it so thank you 🙏🏻 Technically the westcott 200/Godox 200 should do perfectly fine for mid-day outdoor portraits? Seems like a 400/600 watt wouldn’t be necessary? I understand distance can be furthered but with the 200 you wouldn’t require c-stand/weighting them down. I have too many questions 😂
Using the x2d, a 200 Godox is like a 600w + light in hss. U save significant amount of weight. But the best is really ad 100 can act like a 400-800w light depending on scenario and what shutterspeed you are using.
Friend tell me who has a brighter screen for r3 or nikon z9
Hmm I remember they are about the same.
